  • nice, that is exactly the same place as mine have gone, i bet the owner of those jeans was a mountain bike dude.

  • My jeans rip because I bike a lot. Right now, it doesn't have a hole yet; it's just really soft and is about to tear. How do I mend it (by hand) before there's a hole?

  • Thank you, it's so helpful to have a "how to patch" video from someone who knows how to sew!

  • 5 people already bought new jeans.

  • buy a new pair of jeans you poor bastards

  • if you don't have a sewing machine, use a sewing needle. and if u dont have one of those then use textile glue.

  • Great video, very helpful, succinct. Thank you!!

  • 0:00 thumbs up

  • wtf, can't see the video cause of the writing! what's up with that??

  • @shirleybrunswick Mouse over the up arrow in the bottom of the video and click "turn off anotations".

  • i've got a hugee hole in my ass..

  • @KosToadies that's called your anus

  • @airborneskates LMAO wow i just noticed what i posted, i think i was drunk when i posted that.. I meant i had a hole in the back of my blue jeans XD

  • Thank you so much,,,most of my jeans end up like this. ( large thighs ) and I hate when favorite jeans can't be worn..I will try this..Thanks : D

  • i fell asleep GAWD

  • yeah the reason i searched this video was because it said BY HAND. so i just watched half this video for nothing. thanks for nothing.

  • If your sewing by hand it's called a "whip stitch"

  • same hear@ spqrobert

  • o my god, i'm watching this video because of my seven for all mankind jeans. and guess what jeans they used as an example? the same fucking one. never buying SEVEN JEANS AGain

  • i can't tell you how many of these videos on patching your jeans tell you, "just pop it in the sewing machine!" seriously, i want to patch my jeans. i don't have a sewing machine. in fact, if you're in the internet trying to figure out how to patch your jeans, you probably don't have a sewing machine. thanks for nothing, sewing community!

  • I think you're expecting a lot to assume you could patch a pair of jeans with hand sewing. It can probably be done - just follow the videos and use small hand stitches instead of zig zag on a machine. Or take to a tailor!

  • @spqrobert: you might wanna do a search for hand sewing patches , that or get with the times and buy a little sewing machine thats good for mending. Ive seen some as cheap as 12 bucks. my machine only cost 49 bucks at K-mart, and you can even do layaway there. try looking into that perhaps.

  • @spqrobert

It is simple. You do the same things she mentioned, only created the zig zag stitch by hand instead of with the machine. It will take longer but the idea is the same. Generally, if it can be done by machine it can be done by hand. Just look up how to do a zig zag stitch...

  • @spqrobert

They sell iron on patches you can use. I dont know how well they work, because I have never used them, but I know that they exist:)

  • @spqrobert you can get a sewing machine now a days for less then 50 bucks. For those who say they don't have the money you'll be spending more money replacing your clothing that could just be easily patched. Just invest in a sewing machine. I actually have no money right now, but buying a sewing machine has helped saved me money.

  • @spqrobert There are patches already made that are sold at fabric stores. Ask a salesperson, but they are usually sold in the Notions department. They are adhesive already. Follow the package directions. I suggest though that you hand sew around them but the adhesive tends to weaken after a few washes (or it always has for me.) Even simple running stitches will work. Everyone should know some basic hand sewing, its a survival skill. Look at About. com also for info.

  • @spqrobert mighty putty...

  • Great video! I have several pairs of otherwise good jeans with identical rips in the seat of the pants - due to an exposed corner of a car door. I've been wanting to make an invisible fix, and your video is the only one I found that shows me exactly what to do. It's quick, easy, and I can do it on my only sewing machine - an antique hand crank Singer. Thank you!

  • um, how do you fix jeans without a machine?

i got a rip right near my zipper.... its kinda embarrasing and they are my favorite jeans

    PLEASE HELP!

  • lol same here im gunna try using a patch

  • @Exodarion Use duct tape, if that doesn't work, use more duct tape.

  • @Tomfummel I Love IT!!!!

  • @Tomfummel lolz does duct tape work?? :)

  • @shikatema59 I've tried that...believe me, bad idea. If you put it anywhere that'll get friction, the adhesive around the edges of the tape will stick to your legs and pull the skin. it's horribly painful.

  • @BlueLykeJazz Indeed and I've got blisters on the inside of my thighs to prove it.

  • @Tomfummel YOUR MY HERO <3

  • SO how do you charge if you do that to others?? what about cutting the jeans to the right lenght size?
