after watching ur video i had a question. Is there any reason why u open the bags on the floor and then move the snakes in the box? Why dont u just let them fall in the box immediately.
If we are getting snakes in from overseas or that have otherwise had a potentially hard trip, we put them on the floor so that we can give the snake a once-over before putting it in the cage. It just lets us look at them better. If it was a short trip, then we do what you say and just put them directly into the cage from the bag.
nice video. are you going to breed the habu's and would they be for sell my friend has been looking for some. he was bit by one in japan when he was in the marines.
They are still in quarantine until July. It will take about 2 years to cycle them for breeding but we will attempt to breed them. Their bites can cause a lot of tissue damage. How did your friends bite turn out?
I used be have a phobia regarding snakes until I released if I acted wisely I would probably be fine. Now I know they are just damn cool yet still dangerous.
nice snakes

Does your zoo have a large collection of other reptiles, like turtles and tortoises?
LyleVertigo 1 month ago
@LyleVertigo
Mostly we have venomous snakes, but we do have a a few non-venomous snakes, turtles, tortoises, and crocodilians as well.

what do you use to make the holes in the tubs?
limeyell0w 3 years ago
A soldering iron. Nothing fancy, but be careful if you use one! They work great because they don't leave any rough edges.
