Holy cute! Jenna doesn't know what acting is. Minus is over acting. There's a contempt here that must stem from a bad script. I'm attracted to men with Aspergers burgers syndrome though. Minus shouldn't act 12 when he's 25. Canadian's need directing lessons or the VFS needs a directing class. Dial it in folks, tone it down, and let it flow. And, alas, more hetero-programming.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, or perhaps feeding a dead horse, and in that case I'm wasteing food. Anyway, I just wanna say that I liked this short. So if by liking it I am an idiot that cant understand terrible, clunky dialogue or bad art. Then I guess I am, I don't care, Vancouverfilmcritic; grow up. Good work!
Vancouver film critic, you should go and learn about a thing called stylistic choice. No film is perfect, but no opinion is absolute, and no one should hold theirs to be so. Care to share any of your own creations? They must be excellent.
"Stylistic choice" as you call it, in this case, is a thin shroud to cover failure. I don't see anyone claiming anything to be perfect, or opinions being absolute, when you enter the realm of any artistic endeavor be ready for criticism from third parties, no one loves you as much as yourself. I wasn't aware my name was Vancouverfilmgenius? Wait, rather it's "critic", your mistake.
1. The plot is ridiculous, contrived and inane. The dialogue is terribly clunky.
2. If the Director was attempting to make the shortest terrible english soap opera "minus" the accents, you succeeded.
3. The art is unfortunate. I mean take a look at the room with the papers plastering the walls. Multiples of the same thing and then when he tears it all down the only words left are the ones that aren't necessarily negative... terrible.
Overall i thought it was pretty good, the most satisfying part to watch is definitely the end when you figure out the reason why he doesn't have a good relationship with his father. However I don't think you tied him being "unusual and weird" to the father thing, tried to tie it more to his name when really his name is not the main issue but merely fun for word play. The color scheme was a little weird for me but overall great!
does he have a middle name....lol he should just lie like most people change it unofficially lol this was a good film made you think....i use different names depending on the situation people do tend to judge you on your name....very good plot...,acting, editing,music...etc.....
this film could have been amazing if I didn't think the fact that this guy spent his whole life complaining about his name was completely ridiculous. people have MUCH weirder names than Minus....too over dramatic for me.
my respects to the directing, ACTING, originality, camera and the overal execution!! All really good. (I just didn't really like the script at itself, the lines and just the story at itself, is too cliché in my oppinion. The concept is original though, but...the script hangs on it's cliché's and that's a pitty)(at the same time, I must acknoledge, I have great difficulty with this too, so just keep practicing, you'll get where you wanna go when you persist!).
Bravo. Brilliant, screenplay, acting, editing, directing, the light, the colours, everything is perfect, everything fits like a puzzle, Congratulations.
Although his name does not necessarily fit in with everyone else, or with his father's equation, in actuality the minus fits the equation and he realizes he too can fit into the real world.
lool is that an actual formula..the decision to make it about mathematics could be related to that actual formula... idk. For his name, i think Minus at first feels subtracted from the world and with the title "Plus Minus" which is saying +,- its the same as equaling out which is a metaphor to fitting in.
well i think i get it. His name (being an issue that practically no one has) is meant for audiences to symbolize their own problems that they believe characterize them, but isn't something physical, like psychological problems. He blamed his father for it, but is able to realize that even though they are family (minus fits in equation) the father does not want him. This allows him to realize there are people who want him how he is
Quirky story but I don't get the reference to mathematics. It felt like there was supposed to be some connection there with the name, the mathematics and his father but there wasn't any. Maybe I missed it but you could replace his name with any other odd name, so why minus. I also don't get how the story was resolved in the end.
There should be a sequel to this. It can be based on Chris Martin's daughter and the film could be called Oranges Apples :P

Found a pro, which was an ordeal.
1. The idea of a character named Minus = semi clever.
I guess...

What's in a name?
Minus was just a bit over-the-top obsessed about his.

The plot itself was a little odd, considering the emphasis that is put on a name. But, the acting, directing, and overall cinematography are amazing.

Doesn't make a damn bit of sense. I guess I'm just thick, unless of course its basically failed at having any sort of narrative.
