  • Try do tha with a 8gb class 10 in the nexus and da phone kill the i.

  • 4S killed!

  • ANDROID FUCKIN SUCKS!!!

  • you cannot count like this way because iphone 4s is using internal memory build in samsung galaxy nexus use micro SD memory this gap may delaying nexus to compress and copy may very need time if you using nexus 32GB iphone 4s 32GB both same spec build in phone memory thats the way to proof

  • iphone 4s peaks at 1Ghz, not 800Mhz. The galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4s are both built on the ARM cortex A9, architecture is the same. Neither phone runs at peak all the time. You are probably running a stock rom on the galaxy nexus which is littered with bloatware too. Also you didn't play back the video, who's to say the quality of the video us the same on both devices?

  • I love people who say "Oh my Phone is better because it has better specs" Apple has the best hardware to software integration and everything just works properly. Flaunting specs in my face isn't important. Even in Benchmarks the 4s is one of the fastest phones out there (Check Anandtech before responding) even though people laugh at it's specs. Apple has proved yet again that specs don't matter as long as the software is optimized well, which it clearly is.

  • @NGUpremier I haven't laughed that hard in a while, thank you, made my day.

  • I want to see the results. Video quality and formats. File sizes, etc.

  • Two friends of mine have the Nexus and neither will send SMS messages very well. I have the Iphone 3GS and it runs faster than the nexus. This Iphone was from 2009. Android isnt too great, but ive never owned one. So i Cant say for sure...

  • I've never understood why people get so angry about phones, I have an android but appreciate what apple does. If it wasn't for the iphone there would not be android we would all be using blackberries and palms

  • @afglakeshow81 Google purchased android in 2005 the first iphone didnt come out until 2007

  • @youplaymenot Look at Wikipedia for iOS and Android release dates.

Please don't make a fool of yourself saying that Android came first.

  • @NGUpremier They were both made around the same time, just because ios was released first doesnt mean anything

  • Look at the nexus... Wow...

  • everyone who know both devices is sure, android is better. Go home iphone.

  • @smallsmallness yeah but android rons only as well as its hardware just likeios

  • iPhone! <3333333

  • Lol @ the Android fanboys making all the excuses... It works both ways, the GN can lose too

  • battery will make a difference ..... look at the battery level of the nexus ....... ?

  • @dom3116ify wow really battery makes a diffreance how????

  • @TheIpadiphone well on my phone atleast when my battery is full charged performance is at its best however when its at 50 or 60 % charge performance decreases

  • it's not GN vs 4s. different encoders.

  • LEARN HOW TO USE IT... AND YOU'LL GET WAT U WANT!!! ANDROID WILL STILL BE THE BEST @ THIS POINT VS iSHIT 4S... lets see wat they do for 5

  • im pretty sure the iphone is clocked at 1ghz

  • @smallsmallness no.. its not apple underclocked there phone so idiots like you will think the next iphone is the greatest thing ever...

  • @Usuallyboredalot Dude, i have an android

  • @Usuallyboredalot no the iphone is undercloked so that it will use less battey

  • @smallsmallness No, it's underclocked to 800 MHz. iPad 2's A5 processor is 1GHz. Either ways, iPhone 4S can render videos 4-5 times faster than Galaxy Nexus which is pretty stunning.

  • I laugh at all the Android fanboys trying to find excuses! They just can't accept the iPhone might actually be better at this.

  • 1337 likes ;D

  • im sorry but im giggling a little bit here, no offense but tld seems to have no idea how video compression works, i mean "i enabled GPU Acceleration" just shows how much you actually know about the subject, you dont use gpu to encode video. also there is difference between codecs, did you try export into same codec? that is the biggest factor when encoding videos

  • APPLE FTW! THEY PWN EVERY OTHER COMPANY!

  • You closed all the apps on the iphone but not on the galaxy nexus you shut them down from multitask but it wil still run them on the background you should close the apps trough taskmanager, and thats why the iphone load the movie faster (sorry for my bad english)

  • iphone for the win yaya

  • That APP on the Galaxy Nexus is the problem and it isnt the phone because the Galaxy Nexus have a way better hardware than iPhone 4S!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAA!!!! WHAT FAIL from SAMSMUG!!! SEE?? androids FAIL!! Iphone wins again!! always wins! iphone is 5 YEARS ahead of any samsmug!! I'm iphone and I love it, haha, sorry androids you LOSE again and again1!! AMERICA iphone all the way CHINA androids LOSEEEEE!! hahaha!! YES!!

  • @iGoduFail well sasmsung fail? guess who makes that A5 processor for iphone? galaxy nexus uses Texas instrument's TI OMAP.

  • @iGoduFail 25 percent of the iphone is samsung -_-

  • swiping the app away in that multitask view on ICC doesn't close the app... that screen is just a history of recent apps you used

  • i don't get why he bothers to show that there r no apps running in the background yet chops the video from the 58 or 59sec to the 1min mark. I paused it since i lost all trust in this test bc he clipped the video. lame

  • LOL! A weaker processor spd owned a better one! iPhone ftw!!!

  • The iphone 4s dual core processor's are 1ghz, not 800mhz

  • @militarwizard333 the iphone 4s cpu is downclocked from 1 ghz

  • @militarwizard333 nope its 800mhz people just round it to 1ghz

  • @theeGAME360 thats still shit

  • iphone > the best android phone? not surprised apple owns u all

  • the iphone has a better gpu. Im pretty sure exporting video uses gpu and cpu at the same time to of course the iphone will win because it has better gpu. Galaxy Nexus also has an amazing gpu and u wont see any difference when playing games. but this is where u will see a difference

  • Both great phones. You like customization get the nexus. You like Performance get the iPhone. Amazing phones either way.

  • Galaxy Nexus without the live wallpaper, widgets,

weather tools, automatic app-updates ect. might be way faster. haha

  • thats why the iphone is better iphone dont has the highest specs but it is the fastest

  • Only noobs compare hardware power and compare it just like that, it's hardware + software and optimization that makes thing happen. This test is a clear proof of that

  • in the iphone you have just a resolution setting.

in the galaxy nexus, you can choose the quality and the resolution.

I believe that the iphone winned cuz the quality havent been setted (must be on medium)

makin a video exporting in the same app would be fair...

thx for making a fagg test, you hopeless retard.

  • @hamzal89 The iPhone 4S has an incredible GPU for a mobile device inside of it , its 2 times faster than the samsung S2 Gpu. So clearly the iphone had no trouble of exporting video.

  • Maybe u should use the same app on both devices? That would be fair.

  • I would recommend the iphone 4s to my parents they're not very tech savvy

  • uhhh different software...

  • i believe this has to do with the app not the phone itself... compare apples and apples (pun intended)

  • iphone owns

  • it kind of depend on very much how good the app as well?

  • @shdxc yeah I was thinking that

  • I like your videos a lot, have seen a lot of them. Could you tell me the camera you use to record (like this video) & at what resolution...things are so clear here. I use a Samsung PL 200, recording in excellent lighting conditions at 1280 x 720 HQ at 30 fps, & yet the video quality is not that great, even for YouTube, & the file size is just HUGE. 5 minutes of footage could be as much as 350 MB, taking FOREVER to upload! The output format - MP4 is also a prob on YouTube as I have noticed. Thnx!

  • resolution means nothing without knowing the bitrate/sampling rate.

  • @micronux finally someone intelligent in this earth...

the guy making the video is faking us.

  • there was s cut during the 1:00 minute mark if you noticed it. and the location of the phones move.

  • @royale013 that dosent meant anything....thats from editing the video

  • I go for SAMSUNG! SAMSUNGEDDDDDDD!

  • what format ??

i don't want no shitty quicktime bullshit encoding

  • What are the differences in audio and video bitrate?

  • omg you cannot compare hardware by using different software! You just lost all credibility.

  • I stopped the video when the dipshit said: "This should win because it is higher clocked"

    DERP you fuckin moron.

  • Lol is like comparing a Bentley to a nexus, oops I mean Lexus just no way that piece of shit phone will ever beat the iPhone4s

  • A lot of people laugh at the speed of the iPhone? Haha, I'm laughing at how much time it took the Galaxy Nexus to render the video HAHAHAHA look how I'm laughing HAHAHAHA, 1,2Ghz my balls haha

  • shot the fuck up i wanna see the diference not hearing ur anoying voice :@

  • feel sad to those don't have a clue what's they are commenting about. Both were clearly rendering full HD movie at 1080p (1920x1080). The looser Samsung copycat products are having extravagant hardware specs such as higher screen resolution of 1280x720 whereas iPhone screen is only 960x640. This video rendering performance test does not have anything to do with screen resolution at all instead, it's a performance test for its Graphical Processor Unit (GPU) efficiency !

  • Comment removed

  • graphical performance of the nexus sucks is smart but not fun

  • The Test is not relevant. The Nexus has to export a bigger amount of Data then the 4S.

  • Also if you didn't know swiping the task away doesn't close it it just swipes it away from the multitask bar

  • I had both of these phones and I can say that I can't say wich is better,I like them both really much ...

  • the wi-fi i on ?

  • fuck you

  • @miladsafi12

    uJEALOUS?!

  • Did anyone realise the Galaxy Nexus also has an active wallpaper and the iPhone 4S doesn't?

  • He should show both video qualities on both phones right after all the renderings.

  • Yes, its not like apple professionally creates video editing software, OR that they have been using the same exporting algorithm for the past seven years and this is googles first time on a new platform. Compare the same apps please thank you.

  • @evanextreme That's the thing, apple has more experience with it, therefore it excels in some things and falls a bit short in others. Android will homefully improve in time ia.

  • Cant compare something if It's not with the same app really. But even with the same app, I would say the Iphone would still win, cos of the better gpu. But then not by such a large margin. I had a iphone 4, switched it to a nexus, and I love the widgets again (used to have a htc hero), the easier to see everything you need, without clicking apps for it. The IOS is boring as hell, for a phone at least. Ive got a Ipad 2 too, and I love it, I dont care about widgets there, just the smoothness :)

  • hmm...it seems you shot that sample video with the iPhone 4s, which is not a problem if you also shot a similar video with the galaxy nexus, am I correct? If so, then this was not a fair test. I also own both devices and I agree the iPhone generally works better because the OS on iPhone is better due to its older pedigree...and yes I'm not afraid to say it...its true!!!

  • @cyberMaschine, @kingofkings22, @weightlossinfos and for those below who are looking for an iPhone 4s for Free, simply google: iPhone4sGiveaway.info

Nice video btw, I get my iPhone 4s for FREE by the end of the week. can't wait for it! weee :)

  • dude are fucking freaks its just a phone nothing good about it

  • Comment removed

  • something he didn't take into account is the fact that the nexus is exporting at a much higher resolution (1280 x 720 vs. apples 960 x 680 or whatever it is). Also, the screen is much smaller on the iphone making anything that has to do with graphics a much easier process.

I will not lie, though-- the big difference maker here is the fact that the nexus has a dated gpu.

  • @chrisriner84 But still, the difference is huge.

  • @chrisriner84 LOOOOOL WTF? Both exported at 1080p didn't you see that? The screen does not have anything about the camera and about exporting a video...

  • Some say that the Galaxy Nexus is still exporting the video to this very day.

  • @Supramna92557 Mythbusters, here we go

  • @Supramna92557 epic

  • not a fair test because the 4s has 64gigs built in ram while nexus uses micro sd and for all we know the phone may not even have a memory card or just a slow card installed.

  • @gadgetmanjay What?

  • @gadgetmanjay The Nexus doesnt use a micro sd...it's built in storage just like the iPhone. And btw, the iPhone doesn't come with 64GB of ram...that would be insane. The Nexus has 1 GB, hell my computer only has 4GB

  • I phones r pathetic

  • suscrivanse a mi canal,, que ahi les dejo el mejor jailbreak en 3 minutos

  • why have 720p on a screen so small that it wouldnt make a diffrence when having 960x640? the nexus is bigger so it MUST have bigger...

  • i have nokia 3310 and proud of it !!!

  • Thats not fair...You chose 1920x1200 on Galaxy Nexus...that's like super high quality..shouldnt HD1080p be 1240x720?

  • @hyperblizzard08 he said 1920x1080 in the nexus o.O it clearly says that too...

  • the nexus has a screen resolution of 1280 by 720 while the 4s is only 960 by 640 so the nexus is export a ton more amount of data than the 4s is

  • @daironhorse And that is bunch of bull. They both export the video at 1080p@30fps. The screen resolution of the phones has nothing to do with that process...

  • @daironhorse The 4S has a higher PPI (pixels per inch) rate than the Nexus, so really the 4S has a better screen, higher resolution

  • @SurajOnTheBeat IP4S 320ppi , Galaxy Nexus 316ppi...

  • @SLIDuplex True...but for all those people saying that the Galaxy Nexus has more work to do, that's extraneous, since it has a lower resolution display..

  • @SurajOnTheBeat may, but a 720p resolution is very usefull =) , and i don't understand the people ... the Galaxy Nexus can play without any problems every game in the Android market, so i see no problems with the "more work" ;-)

  • @SurajOnTheBeat

    Resolution != pixel density.

The Nexus has more pixels, but they are spread out over a greater area.

The iPhone has a much lower resolution which has a higher density due to its stupidly tiny screen.

  • @SurajOnTheBeat are you fucking retarded? more PPI doesnt mean higher resolution, iphone is 960x640, nexus is 720x1280

  • @daironhorse lolwut? are you serious? They are both exporting 1920x1080 (1080p) videos, even if the iPhone had 4x4 resolution, it wouldn't really matter at all

  • @daironhorse What does screen resolution have to do with a 1080p resolution video file?

  • @daironhorse False, the screen resolution has absolutely nothing to do with video encoding. Both videos are encoding at 1080p and depending on the bit rate and other encoder settings, have roughly the same amount of data to process. Please know what you are talking about before misinforming people.

  • @daironhorse: Uh dude, both videos were 1080p and exported back out at 1080p so the resolution of the screen is pretty much irrelevant for a CPU bound task like exporting video.

What probably is a limiting factor here is possibly slower Flash storage on the Nexus, unoptimized filesystem code in Android Icecream and unoptimized code in the video encoding used in the video editor.

I'm just trying to analyze what is happening.

Disclosure: I own an iPhone 4S and write code on windows.

  • @daironhorse dude that does not matter, it is still 1080P video, regardless what the screen! wake up!

  • @daironhorse You really dont know what you are speaking about ?

  • @daironhorse It's got nothing to do with the screen resolution.

  • @daironhorse What's being exported is not based on screen resolution, but by video resolution of 1920x1080. They're both exporting the same amount of data and has absolutely no relation to the display.

  • @mi875

    fapfap ??

  • i have 3GS and i am proud of it!

  • i have 3GS and i am proud of it !!!

  • Film everything with the Phone.. Edit everything in a video editing software for your computer

  • have both for phones the iphone4s wins hands down your right on! CVN76usn have 2 laptops 1 X301 lenovo 4,500.oo in 2008 dec 2 W520 lenovo 5,100.00 in dec 27 2012 I am a IBM user so no mac boy cap useing cells for 25 years gave up on android after 5 phones 1,500.00 the things do not work 50% of the time gave up on dec 23 201 my 1st apple 4s black 1 iphones in 2 words it works........ 98% of the time and I use it in SF SR S Rosa Uka cdale to the OR stateline OR 974151st cell co cellone SF

  • To the 1080p video thank you sorry that I did not say it, in my 1ST post VERY poor speller and/or writer. CVN76usn

  • So unless the video container formats are the same for the two exported files, you can't make this comparison.... Just a side note

  • Nexus Prime better then and faster than iphone

  • P.S. we do buy these to use as phone as well ????? CVN76usn

  • That runs Android Icecream Sandwich. LOL - Icecream sandwich!?

That runs iOS 5.0.1. - Serious thing.

    Stupidity vs. Seriosity.

  • @ROBLOXMoony you are actually retarded. since when did name have to do with functionality?? your shitty ios5 is a ripoff of android 1.6... we tech users are at android 4.0. wake up!

  • the iphone is way better

  • @gman4lyf1 i can't tell if you're joking or if you actually believe that

  • please make the test with both phones on charging, the nexus do use less CPU when battery is lower then 50% and then with an app that is available for both OS, th "HD 1080" does not mean High quality...

  • @baroc00 Verizon doesn't have sim cards.

  • lol ios is a simple OS. Don't compare a caca with android, compare a google app vs an ios app. Also, and this is for all iphone fans, even the apple co-owner said that he wish that his iphone does what his android do , so please with that i don't have nothing else to said. search on google and you will see what i just said

  • why would you compare an android phone to some SHITTY APPLE PRODUCT?

  • @foxridu33 Perhaps you should look at the video again and you'll know why I laughed at your comment.

  • LOL you guys are so fucked! who argues about this shit! pick a fucking phone, and buy the fucking phone! hoooooooooooly shit, like im still rockin the 3gs, look at all the fucks i give about phone speed!

  • The iphone is the better phone in every way. I had the nexus and it was so bad. The nexus has the worst battery life on a phone. I've tested all android phones worth talking about. Nexus is the worst. It's plastic. So no matter how many times you try to convince yourself that you didn't get ripped off by paying plus $300 for the phone you did. Display is terrible with inaccurate colors and pentile pixels all over the place! Speakers ahh they are so bad an so low. ICS is the only good thing.

  • Specs mean nothing.

  • I am an Android fanboy, and I give this video a thumbs up. It will make Google work harder in making our already awesome Android phones less laggy at certain tasks. We have to be fair, The iphone was clearly the winner here, but overall ICS >>>>>> iOS 5.0.

  • ..i.. this guy is an apple fan !!

  • This shows that android is an inefficient operating system just like i thought it was

  • 182 angry Android users right now, lmao

  • @teamhavocaz Not really, I'm an Android user and I gave this video a thumbs up. I will never use iOS, but I have to be fair, there are some things that Apple do better than Google and vice versa. To me overall though, iOS is boring and the new ICS is just breathtaking. Once again, Apple was the clear winner here.

  • What a shit comparison...using a native stock app against a third party app.."in theory it's the same" exactly in theory...not in reality..how bout posting a video to compare verizon LET 4g speed against iPhone 4s hspa on At&t? Cause u know in "theory" hspa is 4g it should be just as fast...Thumbs way fucking down on this shit comparison!!!

  • the video is a good comparison. He is comparing two identical TASKS using the typical application that would be used on that phone's platform. The task took a lot more time to accomplish on the Nexus vs the iPhone.

  • @sbkpilot11 There's no way to determine that the tasks are identical because there was no quality setting on the iPhone. He set the quality to "Highest" on the Galaxy Nexus. There is a lot more that goes into the size of a video file than its resolution.

That said, I personally see no reason to be defensive about either platform. I think the winner here is the end user because both of these phones are beasts in their own right.

  • @iToasterman thank you for that comment. One normal person under thousands

  • why would iPhone users want an inferior phone? it makes no sense...

  • @Simer1003 The iPhone is an inferior phone?

  • And to say it's pointless because he's using different apps doesn't really make sense. They're different phones, that's why there's different apps. If he was testing the processors alone, regardless of the phone, he'd need to use the same app. But he's not, he's testing the phones stock.

  • The 4S won because iOS has incredibly streamlined coding and is a much higher quality operating system. Android still isn't able to compete with the performance of Apple, even when it's running on a phone with a 400 MHz higher clocked CPU. That becomes apparently with things like scrolling, swiping, home screen, and animation performance. Not a single Android device available where it doesn't chop here and there.

  • @636Castle

    Things to remember:

    1. iOS is as closed and locked an OS as you can get - no customizability whatsoever compared to Android. This means the OS is easier to develop.

    2. iPhones have WAY smaller screens than any Android phone - less demand on the phone, so there's less chance of lag.

  • @636Castle

Also, try the Nexus. Go to menu and try swiping from menu to menu and fast as you can. It will never lag. My brother has one.

  • @636Castle that is not the reason the iPhone won, and if you think it is a MUCH higher quality operating system (then you are deceiving yourself). There are battles where Android hands down beats iOS and vice versa.

  • @VraiDiouf the android has become better than the ios actually... but it also uses more RAM

  • @636Castle Its all likes. Some people might like it, others no. I don't like Android 4.0, I like 2.3.4 thats about it. I like iOS4.2.x but you know, it doesn't matter. Also Google has better code streaming. First, each release is much more stable. Less updates. Also a lot more choice. Each vendor changes Android to their liking. iOS is never changed to your liking.

  • @636Castle LOL another Apple fan. Get out.
