@Cowardzaghe I checked ESPN the pieces I found match what you were saying, that Hopkins "eeked" win on their scorecards by 1 point as far as I could tell. When I first watched it I agreed that hopkins won, since rewatching it several times I go with a clear Calzaghe victory. Also, slating the HBO scorecard and Woodhall's is far fetched and merely a conspiracy theory. The officials judges were with Calzaghe (discount the lucky knockdown and he drew on one). In all his career Joe never fought a cowardly, spoiling, cheating, holding, butting, dirty, time-wasting fight like Hopkins did against him. Even with all his hand problems and even when he got knocked down in a few fights Joe kept coming on strong; he was adaptable, had a great will to win, fighting spirit and noone coped with his handspeed and workrate.

I love Hard 'Nard. He lost this fight but will never believe it. He showed how good Calzaghe is in his next fight against Pavlik. That's why more folks should give Calzaghe his props. I've never seen anyone make Hopkins look like he wanted to quit. Calzaghe did that and completely outclassed Hopkins.

Look, the fact is that Europeans are mostly clueless about American Boxing, and Americans are clueless about the European scene.
I take nothing away from Calzaghe, but overall, Hopkins does have the harder fights on his record. He demolished Trinidad and Taylor in their prime.
That said, Calzaghe has some good wins against Kessler, Bika, Bute, and Lacy.

when i first watched the fight i was of those that thought that calzaghe won the fight i had a good seat i was probably in the 15 or 16 row having said that even after watching it live i knew it was close but i rewatched it on video and i do feel that even though calz was pressuring bhop he diddnt make a significant impact on bhop.bhop for me showed true ring generalship and made calz look amatuer knocked him down counter punched and showed good defense.look at what bhop done to calz face!!!!

the taylor fight showed more weaknesses than strengths,if taylor had been smart and taken a knee he would have won because he outboxed froch for most of the fight its only when he stopped throwing punches that carl had a chance.pavlik isnt as good at 168 as he is at 160 but carl is so easy to hit-it would be a great fight and hope it happens wouldnt last long though
