Hi everyone.. If your watching this video you noticed that around 4:23 they're talking about working with 21st century technology. But shouldn't technology be working FOR us? Something the government won't tell you about wright? Still there are thousands of people who generate great wealth while technolgy is doing 90 percent of the work. If you'd like to know how I only work one hour a day while securing my financial succes for life, please visit my page.. Thanks for your time.
The United States is paying it mortgage payments with it's credit cards.
All of this current mess is because they didn't let the last recession happen in 2001. They made interest rates low to fight it which cause the housing mess to form. They're now making our money worthless and with interest rates at 0% you can bet 10 years from now we WILL have a great depression.
I'm totally against anymore of this "bailout", "economic stimulus package" or what's now called in this video, "downpayment on America". It's more of the same BUSH crap!
NO MORE MONEY FROM OUR POCKETS, DAMMIT!
Start bringing the jobs BACK into this country that you let go overseas and you've solved your problem. But nooooo.. that's too easy.
You'd rather keep ripping us all off until we have nothing else and are fully dependent on government for our every need.
Do something about the illegals. Hasn't anyone noticed Obama never once discussed this. Think of the millions of illegals here, get rid of them and we free up more jobs.
As cautious as I am about Obama, I have to say, hearing about these infrastructure programs and comparing the liberral philosophy to the neglect we've been suffering makes me feel like this is how it's supposed to be! It's like the 21st century has finally started.
If anyone thinks that taxes will be cut because the federal government saved on its "energy" bill they are wrong. Anyone that thinks they are paying less taxes needs to realize they are just redirected. Someone else is paying your taxes. This creates an extremely dangerous economy that is capable of toppling at any moment-and Obama wants to save it? FORCED taxes are unnecessary and unconstitutional. The income tax is a "Fuck You" to all Americans!
I'd look to where government money spent has been by far the most profitable for society in the short, medium and long run.
That is in R&D--medical and otherwise-- private and public, Education, the building of enabling technologies, helping startups, and national information infrastructure.
When the government builds water fountains, instead of giving out cups of water from time to time, the short term costs are hardly more, and the long term benefits just keep on giving for decades to come.
Talk is cheap. Don't tell me you are going to be bi-partisan....do it. Don't tell me you are going to 'fix' the economy...do it. You are going to be judged by your actions, not your lip service. So shut the hell up and get to work.
Oh snap potholes are what's hurting America not an incompetent greedy government or an apathetic tv educated population. No it's the potholes (at least the terrorists made more sense..)
Companies that could offer employees a health care plan should receive some incentives. For those who are not covered by their employers they should be covered by the government and be charged a health care tax on their income tax. A percentage according to their income. There should also be a medication tax per family income This taxes will go the health care fund.
Education and health care should be offered to everybody without having to go bankrupt. They are basic principles.
Okay, I get it already. The economy's tanking and it's epic. I voted for Obama - but the doomsday reports aren't making it better. Small business will pull us out of the morass. And small biz needs a few "signs of land." I appreciate the honesty lacking from the Bush administration but couple it with signs of land a little bit that small biz owners out there are prospering despite the economy. Balance. I talk with people like this weekly. I'm sure Obama's team can find a few if they look.
8.8 TRILLION dollar national deficit, health care about to take up our GDP, baby boomers, war in iraq, china losing interest in our bonds (buying our debt), college being so frigging expensive (im a student at Rutgers University, I'm paying $11,210 for my college education a year), the list goes on.
I hope we make the right decisions, I hope the Bush administration has to take more blame for some of our current situation (not all of this was their fault).
The government is, by definition, non-competitive and my experience is that government agencies become bloated with underachievers who are unmotivated to excel because government is simply not organized to reward such efforts. Can you name a single government agency that is the model for quality, innovation and efficiency? Of course not! Yet we are nationalizing major corporations and putting the same people that caused the mess in charge.
This all sounds great but I want to see the details. Let's start with the list of programs that are a waste of money but mandated for the benefit of someone in congress. Name names and programs that should be cancelled.
It's time all Americans realize what the priorities are, roll up their sleeves, tighten their beltsand go to work.
The President's job that has ben increased by immensely more than at hand during the election campaign. He has organized well, creating transparanty in spending, and has good instincts for the future of the USA. Dumping non productive departments of the Federal Gov, like the 30 yrs. of spending $700,000,000 on Carter's watchdog dept. for improvement of gas proficiency of cars.
Enjoyed an introduction to the people who are working for us with Obama. They seem to be personable, capable, and organized to create programs which will be cost efficient. No, I'm not being compensated for this comment, but I sincerely hope there is a a pay off in the form of crisis management. Hope is what I voted for, and Obama and this team (and others) stoke my confidence in the new government. I'm really looking forward to the presidential address on next Tuesday.
Government can only create jobs by destroying other jobs via taxation. We can go further into debt, which will only delay our problems, but we're already so far into debt that people/countries aren't lending to us anymore. Or, we can inflate our money supply, but then we risk hyper-inflation. The $1000 tax cut is a great idea, but only if they decrease government spending with the tax cut. We could maybe save some money if Obama closed some of our 700 overseas bases, but I doubt he will.
Asking the government to fix a problem that the government created is like asking an arsonist to put out the fire that he started.
The government needs to just stop. It's like the friends that means well, but screws things up worse than the were. I'd go into it, but I'll probably get voted down by the Obama zombies.
What do you suggest they do? Just step away and say. "o.k. ... you fix it"? They are the only ones who can really do anything.
Also, calling Obama supporters "zombies" is very narrow minded and idiotic. If you have nothing constructive to say then don't expect people to react to your comment in a positive way.
There is a new administration in charge. The same mistakes are supposed to not be repeated. The old line of government being the problem doesn't hold any weight anymore. There will be no solution without government involvement. The problem we've had for 8 years is a government run by people that want to destroy the credibility and function of government. What about a government that might work for the people instead of the wealthy and connected?
Wall street and reckless money management with only short-term, immediate satisfaction is what created this problem, not the government. Everybody knows that. John McCain talked about this over and over on the campaign trail, but you apparently weren't listening.
But if there is a new administration in place, wouldn't it be a new government and not the one that created the problem?
To go along with your analogy, you wouldn't ask the arsonist who set the fire how to put it out. But, assuming that it was one of the most elaborate fires in history, another arsonist might be able to use his expertise to tell the fire department how to put it out. At least that's how I would like to think of it.
Blackhalo, who's going to fix it then? You and your pessimistic attitude that fits your nickname?
