I've been to this place back in July 06 and only the 3254 was under steam and the 2317 was down for repairs. Last i checked the 2317 is gonna be back on the road by late April 07

i go to the university of scranton, was born here and lived here my whole life. i cant wait to graduate and get out of here. it'll be a nice place to visit, but i wouldnt want to stay here my whole life.

I've lived in 5 countries and I can tell you that sometimes the best way to appreciate a place is to leave it, at least for a while. Scranton is not the worst city I've ever seen, by any stretch of the imagination. Geographically, it's in a very good location and topographically it's a beautiful sight from the air (my husband was a pilot and we had our own airplane). In the fall, Scranton looks fantastic, especially its parks.

Yes, there are 2 pacifics being restored. The Pennsy K4 and the B&M 3713. I'm not sure which is further along in the restoration process.

I've heard those rumors as well, but, I think that is a slim chance. It could happen, but it will probably happen later this year or during the next Steamtown Season.

I have no idea because the people fro altoona are doing it. It is just at steamtown as a place to work on. The mechanics seem to think early next year.

that's not true. (not to offend you) but a guy named Andy Morris said because of the waste of effort, 1361 will be shipped back to Altoona where she'll operate in 8 years i'm hoping. i assume the whole boiler might be thrown away. 3 million dollars was wasted, and they should use it to buy a new one. Okay, I'm sorry if i offended you in anyway but it's true.
