this works with the F: drive but my computer won't let me format my C: drive. it says i can't format it or delete C: drive or else it won't work

@yellowyankee1 i tink its because ur C drive is ur intial one ur runnin on. so wat u can do is, if u can change the boot order to boot the F drive nd then try formatting it from there.

If you only have one Hard Drive, you cannot format it in this way. Windows is stored on the default hard drive, and when you format the dirve all data is wiped. So windows, which is what is doing the wipe via this method, would be deleted while it is wiping the hard drive, which would crash the computer and whatnot.

@Zachary90000 no, if it's the main O/S Drive no, also this video is a fast format not a real format in some ways as you can get back data. Unless you low level format ;P

@xOSubzero96 Try Running in Safe mode by Pressing F8 on Start up and Picking Safe mode if you get different Click the HDD & Quickly Press F8 after picking safe mode. (also this video only shows deleting the datas addresses which means you can get the data back :/ )

answer to -1 yes it will. but you cant wipe it that way. you gotta look up britec01's name if you want to wipe a computers main drive....

answer to -2 im afraid you got to wipe your drive.... or you can reinstall your computer meaning all files outside of the main folders count as stayed. your best idea would be format or follow options from other videos.

This doesn't actually "wipe" the hard drive. It wipes the readable content from windows, so that you can write over it. If you really want to make sure that nobody can get your data again, you have to write over the hard drive over and over again with other data. But this does work, I've done it many times. Thanks for a good guide!
