OMG! this is the first time for me watching this video. I felt like I was really there, at that live concert just now- AMAZING!!!!!!!! I fell speechless <3
After he made his transition and left this life, I always got the impression that he and Sylvester were greatly underappreciated. Jermaine, wasnt the greatest vocalist but he was a natural born performer. You didnt have to tell him what to do on a stage...he just had it. He was a consummate professional and Sylvester was a LEGEND. Had it not been for them, I dont think we'd see gay, OUT singers like we do today (RuPaul, Kevin Aviance and Adam Lambert). I'll miss Jermaine's enthusiasm.
Used to be a buyer for a NE USA record chain. Knew AR guy at Arista. After Word is Out is a hit, AR is giving me a ride but has to make a call. Next thing I know, I'm talking to Jermaine in England from a pay phone in a small NE town. He thanked me for promoting him in the US. He seemed a very cool, down to Earth person. Some people get a contract and it goes to their head. Didn't get that from him. I'm glad that "We Don't Have To..." became a big hit. It's a great song to remember him by.
I was on that tour I bulit all the drum and precsoin and key midi system. we open in okc zoo amp last show was in tuson az. it was for 8 weeks we had a blast. one of my fav tours I did. wish. I could see some of the guys again. will say jermaine was a hoot to work for.
its always funny when high pitched singers sing live and exhaust their voice and it turns gruff....I have a Shalamar concert and the same thing happened to Howard Hewitt...same here with JS. The performances must high energy and the gruff has come up "SING"..lol
Jermaine Stewart toured live with his band, The Party for only six weeks in his entire career. From approximately May to mid-June of 1986 in the United States. That was it. It started in the mid-west (Oklahoma City, to be precise) and ended in Santa Barbara, CA. The tour never made it to the east coast or anywhere else around the world. Such a shame because JS and his band were amazing. This footage is the only known, live film available from this short 6 week tour. Enjoy-
i love wya the music sounds for it live.thanks so much for postin performances. u can really tell how special this man was as a performer. unfortunatly i was just a baby when this man was big.
