Patton fought wars the classical way. He understood that men are self serving, they fight for themselves, and political friendships break easily. Had Patton been in control at the end of WW2, not only would there not have been a Cold War, the USA would own western Russia.

Patton said to the office of forign affairs "Please when you get home do not split our units up and send them home, let us keep our boo ts clean and our knifes sharpent and take a picture of it and send it to the Russians because thats the only god damn lang. they understand !" He was replyed by the minister asking "What would you have med do ?" Patton replyed "I would have you draw a line with the basterds and give them set time to get back across or we push them back across"
