  • Why is Ringo look so unhappy ??!!

  • Comment removed

  • Day Tripper a masterpiece.

  • Notice how George waves to the crowd so they'll scream & cover up his "If I needed someone" line which he is having trouble singing in tune? I've seen him do this in other videos. That being said, I give them credit for being as good as they were live, considering having no monitors/ear buds like today. Oh, and I love that 12 string Rickenbacker George is playing! R.I.P. George & John

  • " Day Tripper's " the real standout here; again great guitar playing from George and John.

  • Lennon at 2:19 lol

  • I remember Paul saying thiis was one of the hardest songs he had to play, I just don't see it, The man has skills:) Love the post and tyvm:) Peace

  • If I Needed Someone is one of my favourite George songs. Think he did it all right here. Bless you george x

  • George is like oh shit.... during If I needed someone....

  • Regarding the voice comments - you should realize that the Fabs didn't have the benefit of stage monitors. You can hear John having the same problems at the Shea Stadium concert, and Paul in the second song of this set. Typical to get out of pitch & lose the beat. Addtionally - they were getting road weary with the constant live sound issues, the screaming fans and their studio songs were getting more complex vocally and instrumentally - they couldn't perform them that well.

  • I would say fatigue effected this performance.. their flight was delayed before they arrived in Japan. The band were well within range of the P.A. a level below the main stage area and with a quiet audience could hear themselves. I heard the raw Shea analogue P.A. feed and its very good considering the conditions the band played it. The Beatles rarely gave a poor perfornamce thought Japan is not one of their better concerts. Atlanta 65 proved the tech probs could be overcome

  • Come on guys you have to admit George sux at singing live and yeah while my guitar gently weeps is a great song but you all know his voice sux live but not in a studio

  • His voice didnt suck, listen to roll over beethoven or everyones trying to be my baby live

  • are you serious? come on dude those songs dont take skill to sing like this one live

  • @kaplanamer taxman is awesome so shut the F*** up bunghole

  • and ringo made yellow submarine so there is another reason to shut up!

  • i want to be the girl george waved to 1:26

  • fucking gay!!!!!

  • @andylyboy31 You are musically impaired i can see.

  • @andylyboy31 BURN IN HELL!YOU DONT KNOW GOOD MUSIC FROM A PILE OF SHIT!!

  • Why didn't they choose Taxman instead? Hasn't it be released by this time?

  • i can tell the first song is a harrison song by seeing how much it sux...lennon and mccartney were thinking y the fuk r we singing this crap..

  • you are definately not a Beatles fan, fuck you.

  • Fuk u buuddy wut do u kno..

    Beatles=Lennon+McCartney

    dik

  • @kaplanamer hahaha that's so f***ing true lmao! That was the worse singing I've ever heard!

  • not just the singing, the only good work george came up with was here comes the sun, and the only one ringo came up with was octopus's garden...and the beatles cudve survived without them if u know what i mean...but ringo is a pretty good singer i have to admitt.,.,

  • i have to admit yer a dumbass, ever hear of taxman or my guitar gently weeps, stupid fuktard

  • george came up with a lot of good work in beatles days. Not to mention afterward.

  • Ever heard something?? I want to tell you? I need you? You like me to much? Dont bother me??

  • @BL80488 have you ever heard him play any of those live? I'm just sayin that he isn't a good live singer but his song writing is brilliant and he sounds good in studio with all his songs

  • George was great. Nothing negative to say about him. One could be too critical and diss him on his vocals, but, as a singer, he was a very lucky man. He had two pretty damn good back up singers.

  • In his earlier songs, he sung in his lower octave, once you get to songs likewhile my guitar gently weeps, here comes the sun, and something, etc. etc... His singing was way better

  • name of song?

  • "If I Needed Someone".

  • Look closer when Harrison is taking lead vocal and the position of his left hand throughout the song.

  • Is that a capo on Harrison's Rick?

  • I see no capo.

  • really? I Didn't know harrison had a black finger covering the 7th fret

  • True, I haven't noticed it since by the time I've read the comment, he was already playing Day Tripper without a capo.

  • yes, on the seventh fret

  • Ringo is the hero in this performance.......2:58 and 5:22...love it so much....thanks ta5555555

  • Poor Ringo

  • I'm sorry but I have to say this... this is the worst Beatles' concert...

  • Yeah kinda, but only because they were tired as hell. Touring sucks sometimes. The novelty wears off.

  • check out the other tokyo concert

  • cual es??

  • Ohh this is the only place where i found the complete concert on a good quality but it is cutted on a wrong way, pls dont cut the songs!!

  • LMAO! At 2:28 when John is waving to the crowd he looks like hes having a seizure

  • he was always a joker

  • 4:30

That's very hard to falsetto and play lead guitar at the same time. Am I the only one who noticed that?

  • well it's barely audible.

  • I love this footage. I always thought they looked stoned out of their minds during this show.

  • I love the fuzz sound in George's Epiphone Casino guitar ("Day tripper"), but I prefer John's guitar.

    Love these guitars.

  • this is so awesome!!!!

  • Probably they were suffering Jet-Lag. It was a very long journey from Germany to Japan via USSR and Alaska.

  • Que grandes¡¡ Que bien que sonaban, esta fue la mejor época de los Beatles

  • Day Tripper ROCKS!

  • Yes, George's singing here seems quite a bit laboured/tired. Shame because this is an excellent composition of his.

  • If you think that it is substandard, you should have been in Cleveland Ohio in 78 when the Stones played. Totally sucked.

  • the guitar in day tripper sounds cool.

  • "Paul is just a showman?" Yes! and God bless him for that:)

  • It's always good to have a showman in the group.

  • it seems like Paul is the only one having the good time performing..and being serious with his craft..

  • If they had todays equipment they'd sound much better. Even so.. the beatles practically walk on water!

  • Nothing was wrong with George. He's just a shy performer. Hard to believe isn't it? We all can't be PETE TOWNSHEND!

  • george is so out of tune here

  • OH MY GOSH!!! The part where John waves so enthusiastically, around 2:28, to the audience, HILARIOUS!!! I LOVE The Beatles! Not only are they a fantastic band, they're hilarious too!

  • Wow, the amps and stage gear REALLY SUCKS. Man I wish they had modern gear. Having to spend the shows fighting your own gear and screaming is bad enough.

  • is george?? uhh even there?

  • george is the lead vocalist.

  • i know that, but he doesn't sound like he is even there, he is just kinda in his own little world and not paying attetion..

  • This was one of those gigs they performed where George was utterly bored doing. Nothing to do with the fans, it was more to do with the constant touring they did in those days. When they hit it big, they hardly had a day off in 5 years so you could understand why they got fed up with it all.

  • they didn't tour much in 66

  • They stopped touring in 66

  • they were stoned, duh

  • Haha! 1948!

  • this concert does not show the greatness of the beatles

  • No voice monitors, 100watt amps, no prompters, un-miked kit, never mind manually tuning guitars.. No wonder they quit touring.

  • they didn't give a shit at this stage, and singing wasn't georges main strength

  • Have you ever seen any Let it be footage, they were a pretty great band without screaming chicks.

  • they were awesome live when they still enjoyed it.

check out the star club stuff from 1962, stockholm 64, melbourne 64, new musical express 64 and 65, blackpool 65, shea stadium 65, hollywood bowl 64 and 65, paris palace of sports 65... they rocked live...but when they were not tired and bored, by 66 they HATED touring, so, no wonder they are not rocking like they used to

  • amen reverend!!!

  • Must have been hard to hear themselves on stage. We all know they sang better than that!!

  • Its cool tha a song George wrote was performed in concert. Love If I needed someone.

  • Ringo had got into an argument with other 3 beatles, that's why he looks unhappy...all of them were stressed out by touring, specially that japanese gig. Also, George said that they used the make girls scream whenever they thought the harmonies were going bad, so that screaming would hide the bad sound. They seemed to be really tired of touring, with all those loud fans, not beeing able to expand themselves as musicians, having to do the same 30 min. set sometimes even 2 or 3 times aday.

  • yeap you're right. finally someone noticed about him being unhappy and not smiling. there's gotta be other reasons other than being afraid being shot. yeah but for what reason? george was the only one really bringing the girls to smuck and scream!!!!!!!!

  • Ringo looks so unhappy in all of these clips!

  • Ringo always said he was afraid he was going to get shot sitting way up on those drum risers!

  • ooouuuu Day Tripper!!

    poor guitar!
