  • 'western made shoes' anyone see the irony there ? these were probably made in china or india by a 8 year old orphan...

  • CUBA!! WHAT A COUNTRY!! now cubans DO NOT NEED perrimission to buy a house!!! and i thought americans had freedom

  • Alas, if Guevara sees this he would kill himself. He fought for this country.

  • That's why Cuba is suffering because of Fidel Castro every tourist attraction belongs to him. The entire country of Cuba belongs to him. Nothing for the poor Cuban people.

  • If people are happy, who cares about poverty

  • THE CASTRO SISTERS DONT WANT WHAT HAPPENED IN TUNISA AND EGYPT TO HAPPEN TO THEM, ONCE AGAIN LEFT WING HYPOCRISY

  • I WONDER WHY CASTRO WOULD BE CRACKING DOWN ON PROTESTERS IN CUBA?? ISNT THAT THE CUBANS SHOWING THE REVOLUTIONARY SPIRIT??? OF I FORGOT, REVOLUTION IS OK SO LONG AS IT DOESNT HAPPEN TO THOSE ADVOCATE IT

  • @DOUG1863 you forgot "stinky" and "mass murderer".

  • very well done documentary

  • ernie gueverra was nothing but a faggot

  • Suspect the embargo is a means to an end. Do you think the americans

have cuba's best intrest at heart? Hardly, yankees are waiting to exploit

cuba in the next 20 years by my estimation.

  • FUCK THE USA AND THEIR EMBARGO!!!!

VIVA FIDEL, VIVA CHE, VIVA CUBA LIBRE!

  • @sarzamineiran Look whos talking a fucking north korean another crazy communist

  • @sarzamineiran i tohught cuba didnt need capitalism? isnt that what castro has always said? so why are you complainng about the embargo? and why are you so afraid tolive in cuba? stop hiding in switzerland and golive their. or are you afraid of losing ur freedom? you have a problem withthe recent announcements from castro saying communism doesnt work, and he will make cubans " more free" ? do you have a problem with freedom too, like w/ the embargo? ? i think you dont as long as you are free

  • 5:13 MALUCH!!! :D

  • if cuba is so great then why doesnt this idiot staffie live there? maybe he isnt a big a fool as he is trying to make himself out to be, he lives in england!!! no guts to give up that british P/P and live in cuba like the avg cuban!!! another blow hard with blind eyes seeing what he wants

  • even castro says the cuban commie system doesnt work, but he forgot to say jusy for him, how many millions of dollars does he have hidden away while living the hi life while the avg cuban lives in squaller

  • If Cubans want change badly enough they are going to have to fight for it just like America did during the Revolutionary war... Freedom only comes at a cost....

  • @manny298 yeah because we are so free here in America nowadays

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL: totally agree with you and your opinion

@kh12321: you forget other country! I'm from Viet Nam, communists are here babe and we did not threat the world. the situation now in Cuba is the result of embargo from US. I was born in a hard time when US's embargo on Viet Nam still exist. I Knew how difficult it was, lack of everything. It's not communists's fault.

  • I hate to see people like with cars from 50 years ago. My family on my moms side is 100% Cuban and they came here to America and are living a great life. My grandfather had to leave all his money to Castro before he left. My grandmother did the same with jewlery and money. My grandapa doesn't hear from anyone in Cuba anfd has 4 brothers in Cuba doesn't know if they are alive or moved away also. Life should be what you wantbto be not what a man says.

  • @414200014 My family is Cuban too, great words you said there. Wish you and your family the best.

  • my thin is if the us went to iraq and it was so much of a freedom thing why not cuba ?

  • Fidel = Fail Socialism = Fail

  • we humans need food, water and oxygen everything ells is soccer.

  • @kh12321 Haha well seeing as you have swerved my answer to your capitalist vs communist ideology.I dont mind if you wanna move the goal posts. Genocide by anyone is despicable, but Capitalists are quick to label some in the name of Communism but forget about their own . USA,Capitalist and the only country to have used Nuclear bombs on people. Usa responsible for supporting Israeli campaign of terror on Palestine all with Us dollars.since world war 2 US has attacked 72 independant states.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL ur right usa is the only country to have used nukes. thank god, or there would have been millions of more dead and wounded during wwii. usa does suport israel, the only democracy in the mid east, trying to stop the murderous terrorist atacks of the muslim hoards, firing rockets into civilian areas of hefron and blowing up buses full of NON COMBATANTS, and what ur idiotic rant about the mid east h as to do with cuba is beyond me, but that u support cubas murders of innocents

  • @doug1863 I am right. There are bad things happening in CUBA, however i think you'll find it's in Guantanamo Bay. USA supports an illegal occupation of palestine. And going on your logic of Democracy, i spose you would have no problem if took over a part of american soil filled it up with a few million of my buddies and held elections every 4 years but only my buddies could vote not the people who i have shoved out somewhere lese in a ghetto. Is that cool? I mean hey it was done to the Indians.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL what is going on in gitmo? i love to know what glasses u r wearing that u can see something going on in gitmo and not in havana. i guess everything is perfect in la cabana? as for elections for ur buddies whom ever they are, talk to hamas who was running through the streets shooting as anyone they deemed an enemy and lets not forget those rockets killing those enemy combants, you know the ones in baby strollers, the ones on buses going to school or walking n the streets

  • @doug1863 btw since the vid is about cuba try sticking to the topic and the video is accurate

  • @doug1863 Habana..And yes I have been there.

Why do you think it's ok to stroll into other peoples countries ?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL why dont you ask castro that? bolivia, mexico, guatemala, africa, grenada,,,need i go on?

  • @doug1863 grenada was invaded by america.LOl you tit.And Africa ? you mean when Castro sent troops to Angola to help them against Imperialism.like Che when he fought against the Belgians in the congo. Is that why Mandela calls Castro "my bother"...You try again .Your talking shite. Castro lived in Mexico.Bolivian revolutionaries asked for help and they got it.And today Bolivia is a strong ally of Cuba...Yes please do go on I wouldlove to hear your twisted history.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Do you want extra time for you to wikipedia and google your next un educated answer?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL asked for help? lmao to bad the bolivian govt nor the bolivan ppl didnt ak for it. it was something castro and that fool che wanted to do i love how u revolutionaries, opps , i mean murdering criminals try to hide behind rev. as for mandela, he was and still is a dirt bag. the only ppl who asked for help were the ligit. govts to dispos of criminials like you castro and that idiot che they asked the usa to help them,so what part of cuba do u enjoy the most ?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL la cabana or the umaps, or the stealing of property from hard working cubans? or do you enjoy the neighborhood govt snitches that spy of on ppl.? maybe it is the secret police building that has the face of that fool ernie plastered all over it? or the boats of ppl escaping a prison island?? lol

  • @doug1863 Well I have lived there and, you are talking a load of predictable rehearsed Fox news Rhetoric shite.I know it probably hurts your pride that there is yet another socialist nation you will never bully.(vietnam)

And now 51 years after the revolution Cuba are still independant from your empire and now China and venezuela have got their back.LOL So you have lost. Viva la revolucion!

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL u lived therE?? THEN Y R U NOT THERE NOW IF IT IS SUCH A PARADISE? DO BS ME AND AS FAR AS FOX I HOW DO YOU KNOW IF I WATCH FOX maybe i do maybe i dont there are also other sources and u r nothing but a puppet for cnn and msnbc. and you have yet to answer my question to one of ur robotic statements about gitmo

  • @doug1863 End of the day , Americans can go back packing in iran if they want but they face jail if they visit Cuba.Fucking childish and ridiculous.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL americans get arrested and put on trial in front of kangaroo courts in iran and stop trying to deflect from cuba, it sucks there u know it that is why the island is a prison iif its so great why does castro force everyone to stay there

  • @doug1863 Look i have been there and I have been to various parts of the U.S. please dont embarrass yourself.I have conversed with many cubans so your stupid contrived videos are not going to suddenly enlighten me towards imperialism. I stopped thinking like you the day I stopped cheering the cavalry in western films and realised the indians were the good guys.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL so how did it feel to leave cuba without having to risk your life in shark infested waters on a raft or boa that is half sunk? the only imperilaism in realtion to cuba is castro, and cuba herself tryng to impose its ill will on everyone that doesnt want it!! so how was havana? with all of the crumbling buildings? if it is such a paradise WHY ARENT YOU LIVING THERE NOW? GIVE UP UR PASSPORT AND GO FOR FULL CUBAN CITIZENSHIP. BECOME A PRISONER LIKE THE REST OF THE CUBANS

  • @doug1863 Oh yeah you'd like all of us Socialists to be in one place so you can exterminate us ond put us on reservations like wretched Native Americans.. Oh no there is work to be done around the world..Are you watching? Cuba is fine they will get through this, China are pumping money into the island at the same time as America slowly declines, in 20 years washington will be begging Latin America for money and trade. This is the end game for the empire.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL I doubt that very much. America may be failing a little bit but she will prevail. She has before.

  • @doug1863 ur soo ty[ical of commies,,, violance violence violence.. i never said anything about violence, and AGAIN stick to the topic, but since YOU brought up violence, you wouldnt mind that since you cuba is one of the worlds WORST countries when it comes to human rights atrocities, la cabana, umaps torture stealing property and businesess of the cubans, making them starve , living in squaller. china!! lol worst than cuba, money going to the island??? str8 into castros wallet !!! lol

  • @doug1863 you should not give an opinion about something u dont know. FUCK CASTRO

  • @yandykun hey idiot, maybe if you knew how to read, you would see my opinion of castro is the same as yours, and here in america we can give opinions regardless of knowledge, and i do know what i am talking about, so b4 you give an opinion, learn to read b4 opening mouth and inserting foot into said mouth

  • @doug1863 firts of all i didnt offend u. second, we are not speaking, we are typing in a computer so that phrase "learn to read b4 opening mouth and inserting foot into said mouth" was very stupid.third, no u cant. u cant give an opinion like u know cuz u dont know anything. it's just like people who say 9/11 job was an inside job. if it was or not then u dont kwow shit about it so stop trying to be smart. get it ?what pisses me off is that lots of people here castro while living in US.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL try again

  • @kh12321 A capitalist would exploit a starving family by selling them a fish he caught for a profit.Where as a Communist would teach that family how to fish. Thats what i am saying in a nutshell.

  • @kh12321 Capitalism +Greed, War and Slavery.

Capitalism fails every year with boom and Bust economies.

Capitalism's success can only rely on the success of one man over the exploitation and failure over another. The only reason alot morepeople can afford flat screen tv's in the west today is because somewhere in India theres a sweat box factory knocking them out 10 times cheaper than a factory in Europe.Thats capitalism and it's unfair .

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL So no slavery in Cuba? None in the gulags or death camps in north korea? So I guess those 100 million murdered by Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and kim are just made up.

  • @Ben1238 Ho yes thats right the list is endless..Let me tell you about Pol Pot, he was supported by the Americans just because Ho Chi Min was opposed Pol Pot..That was the childishness of their Politics.

  • FUCK YOU! Well, you also say that they got a great healthcare that they didn't got in 1959, but the rest of the video is foolish! Evidences?

  • Wow say what you want liberals. The images are pretty hard to deny.

  • 10 eggs a month? Jesus! What if your hungry you dumbass castro... Someone needs to take this man out!

  • The communist system is a failure but a free market system would not change the poverty it would just put power into the hands of the same people who created the situation that brought about the revolution and Fidel. The embargo is a disgrace and a punishment for a country that told USA to stay out of its business.

  • Cuba needs to become the 51st state. We should just take it over already. What a great opportunity!

  • @pete5668 a great opportunity to rob a nation of it's liberty. you always seem to speak of "liberty", yet you like to enforce it. Look up the word liberty, and look up the word enforce. Oxymoron much???:L:L

  • viva fidel

  • @uacan51 lol

  • CUBA IS WHAT IT IS NOW BECAUSE OF CASTRO

    HE DESTROY THAT PARADISE

THE USA EMBARGO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CUBAN PROBLEMS: THE PROBLEM IS FIDEL AND THE COMUNIST THAT CONTROL THE COUNTRY

WE DONT NEED USA, WE NEED TO GET READY OF THE COMUNIST THERE

    VIVA CUBA LIBRE

    ABAJO FIDEL Y SUS RATAS

  • I really hope and pray all will be well in the coming years for them!

  • @Ben1238 Amen.

  • @Ben1238 ahahha did you even see any people been interview in this propaganda?? Cuba is free and anti-imperialist !! Long live Cuba!!

  • @cesarojas182 yea mother fuker thas because u are here in usa eating good dressing fine thas because u unlike me never has to travel 90 fuking miles cause comunist like u were persecuting me just be cause i think diferent U KNOW WHAT FUCK YOU FUCK YOU AND FUCK YOU

  • @cesarojas182 I cannot make hardly any sense of what you are trying to say. Perhaps wording your statement better!

  • @Ben1238 do you know who made the cuban revolution possible during 1959??? it was the people. Have you ever think about how come the same cuban people have not try to overthrow the "dictator" has not cross ur mind that people there actually believe in their revolution and that they know best what is best for them?? Look at USA history we did not like the UK to boss as around and we did a revolution to be free !!

  • @Ben1238 Just get rid of Fidel Castro who is a Cancer to the Cuban people and then everything will go very well.

  • @bronx7542 Yep, right on!

  • Maybe if they didnt have a embargo on them they would have nice things and be able to make the buildings look pretty

  • Im cuba, and believe me the embargo doesnt afect cuba, cuba have relation with more than 200 country, politic and economic. is the goverment who block everything.

  • @vampirocubano what you just said it's worth gold to me, thank you.

  • @vampirocubano are you in Cuba or are you a cuban outside of Cuba? Cuban Government is not blocking anything. It is the embargo and the enforcement of those U.S laws that prevent Cuba from receiving imports, including imports of U.S American tourists. We can't go there because we will get punished. Where is our freedom here? Do you see how much Socialist and Democratic nations are really alike?

  • @vampirocubano YOU ARE SO FREAKIN RIHGT

  • @Sofaonfire350 --cuba can trade with the world. the embargo is with america. left wing policies have failed again. everytime this is tried it's failed. it's not america's fault the cuban govt. has failed it's people.

  • @Sofaonfire350 Thats not true !

  • @Sofaonfire350 bulll shiet govement have enogh money to torture encarcerade execute/ an kill people

  • Comment removed

  • @Sofaonfire350 WHY WOULD CUBA NEED THE EMBARGO LIFTED? DOES NOT CUBA AND ALL COMMIES RAIL AGAINST AMERICA AND CAPITALISM? SO IF BOTH ARE SO BAD, THEN WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SAY TO LIFT THE EMBARGO? I THOUGHT COMMUNISM WAS THE END ALL, THE PERFECT SYSTEM TO MAKE EVERYONE EQUAL. IT HAS ONLY PROVEN TO MAKE EVERYONE( BUT THE PARTY ELITES), MISERABLE AND POOR

  • @Sofaonfire350 Why don't they buy from CHINA just like the USA, China is COMMUNIST too . . Surely they will sell to CUBA. Listen CAREFULLY FIDEL HAS THE CUBANS EXACTLY WHERE HE WANTS THEM. Poor, Hungry and blaming others for the FAILURE of CUBA ! ! Kind alike Obama blaming BUSH.

  • @Sofaonfire350 LOL first of all if there were a real embargo all the Hotels in Cuba wouldn't have anything at all and btw cubans are not allowed to eat, stay or even walk near hotels only for tourists, the castro's brother never cared about his people he makes more than a billion dollars a year just from cubans living in miami, he was named the 10 ritches person in the world like 12 yrs ago.

  • @Sofaonfire350 maybe if castro leaves power and change the demographic of gov actions, maybe we can see a brighter cuba

  • The truth about this is that both systems should work with each other.. One is not better than the other. To have a "self made man" just brings more greed, and one's forgetting the basics of life. MORALITY. On the other hand, you have good moral principles but very little room for evolution. One has to be inspired for change and the other has to fuel the idea by leading its people for a better future. Greed is what we see in democracy and drive is missing in Communism. Both need each other.

  • The difference is that capitalism has the room to grow and evolve in the past couple of years to add social programs to help those who feel its ill effects. If Communism begins to do so (ie. add market reforms, allow tourism, allow for private property) it delegitimizes the system, which is what is occuring now in places like China, Vietnam, and maybe even in Cuba.

  • nice anticommunist propaganda.... it seems that capitalism pays lots of dollars to do these kind of work. and its poor quality god damn it. The voice of the man that is supposed to be from cuba is ridiculous..... better work next time

  • You dumbass, its a voice over. Since, you know, Cubans speak spanish.

And the reason they're not showing their face is because they fear repression from the very dictatorship you seem to defend.

    better luck next time.

  • If Irak could be occupied having military equipment and many bad things, how is possible that nothing has been done to bring back freedom to cubans? how indolents we are, as Phill Colins song paradise say you and me we live in paradise. even with all the problem we have in the world, but i prefer this instead of living in Cuba. Castro and all his friends need to be judge by The Roman Statute for all the crimens they have commited. It has to be horrible to be dead in life.

  • In contrary to your allagations, democratic regimes are no different. The trouble with humans is that we are still in our evolutionary process. No system is better then the other. Both have its faults. Both comitt crimes and unjustices.. I favor Socialism for various reasons, but I also see the good things about Democracy. Like I said before, both systems if they could work together, might bring a better future for us.

  • "bring freedom back to the cubans"

    seriously you yanks are deluded.

the same "freedom" you have in the usa ?

you really are an ignorant scumbg "Irak"??

    vive la castro

  • @michaelboyle1888 we have limited freedoms in the US but its 10 times worse in cuba (and the US can become communist in as easy as 1,2,3). quite talking crap you dont know about. i have family there who depend on us for basic necessities. castro needs a lesson in humanity!

  • @YourOasis97 Really? "A third world" country with poverty?

Maybe Without the Usa's trade restrictions they would do a lot better and your family wouldn't rely on you for basic neccessities. Just a thought.

Castro isn't perfect, neither is Cuba, but it's a lot better than the US of A, where the top 1% is richer than the bottom 95 % combined.

  • @michaelboyle1888 "Maybe Without the Usa's trade restrictions they would do a lot better and your family wouldn't rely on you for basic neccessities. Just a thought." yes i know. im well informed of that. i also know were on our way to fascism in the U.S. (well, were halfway there depending on where you look).

and Cuba isn't poor? don't pretend to know what you don't. if cuba is so great, how come millions have crossed the sea on a make shift rafts to this country or any other country?

  • @michaelboyle1888 it's not the usa's trade restrictions, it's the rationing and the lack of a free market. Liberty is the solution to the human condition.

  • @pete5668 You have obviously been brainwashed by a lifetime of pro-capitalist, idiotic nationalism, anti-human propaganda. I don't hate you for this, I don't hate you for your ill-informed views or your stupidity; I hate the system which has moulded you that way. I feel sorry for you and hope that one day you will be able to break out of your cycle of "consume and obey". Bye. Xxxx

  • cuuubacuuubacuubccuuubacuubcacuucbacuuucbacuucbacuuucbacuuucba my father itsz form cuba cub n cubas cuba

  • BigDan: Would you say a Jew who lived under the Nazi repression, where lying, would you accuse them of being deceitful about their experiences? So, interview the more than 1.8 million exiled Cubans everywhere, and if their stories/ experiences under an illegitimate tyrannical Government don't move, touch, and inspire you, then you're pathetic! And, if you call them liars, you're just like part of the Nazi Machine.

  • Concentration camps has nothing to do with the Revolution. It's not even similar. The Revolution has its warts, and having a sworn enemy right above you that makes development difficult doesn't help. Pre-Revolution Cuba was great for a few, but for the general masses it wasn't. Pre, A third of Cubans were illiterate; today Cuba boasts a 99.8% rate, second highest in the world. I talk to Cubans living here in NY. They say life is hard and don't love Fidel but admire what the Revolution has done.

  • "Socialist ideology, like so many others, has two main dangers. One stems from confused and incomplete readings of foreign texts, and the other from the arrogance and hidden rage of those who, in order to climb up in the world, pretend to be frantic defenders of the helpless so as to have shoulders on which to stand." --Jose Marti

  • You know, my brother, I don't like the direction this conversation is heading. As men of God and as Latinos, somos familia. Yeah, we have differing views, but we shouldn't be calling each other names and getting agitated. I apologize. The white capitalist structure wants us divided. Let's just agree to disagree. Hopefully there'll be peace between the US and Cuba soon, and unity among all Latinos.

    Peace

  • The true meaning of socialism: system where the wealth of society belongs to those who produce it, the working class, and is used in a planned and sustainable way for the benefit of all. In place of greed, domination and exploitation, we stand for solidarity, friendship and cooperation between all peoples.

  • America's leading twentieth-century philosopher , John Dewey, concluded that "politics is the shadow cast on society by big business." and will remain so as long as power resides in "business for private profit through private control of banking, land, industry, reinforced by command of the press, press agents and other means of publicity and propaganda." Accordingly, reforms will not suffice. Fundamental social-change is necessary to bring meaningful democracy.

  • Hey csanchez2007:

You Shall Have No Gods Before Envy

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." --Winston Churchill

If you are a true leftist, then you shall covet. Your life is built around a chronic feeling of lack for which you imagine that others are responsible.

  • Capitalism—the system in which all wealth and power is held by a tiny group of billionaires and their state—is the source of the main problems confronting humanity today: imperialist war, poverty, exploitation, layoffs, unemployment, racism, sexism, lesbian/gay/bi/trans oppression, environmental destruction, mass imprisonment, unionbusting, and more.

  • Sanchez, trust me, homes, there's no point arguing with this dude. He's a brainwashed right-wing type from Miami that ignores fact and reason.

The only thing I can say about this, go to Cuba. Check it out. See it with your own eyes. See the pride they have. Imagine how beautiful US would be without the idolatry of consumerism, class struggle and the bourgeoisie. Cuba gives us that hope...

It really is a remarkable place.

  • hey haiti is a capitalist nation too? please tell me why are they so fucked up there?

you quote churchill? the representative of the british crown? the person who enforces the will of the queen, which is elected by no one, how can you call that democracy? or even capitalism? i've never read about monarchy being a requirement of capitalism.

if capitalism is so great, tell me why in this cpaitalist world, 1% of the population owns the 99% of the wealth?

    where's the efficiency there???

  • the reason why Haiti is poor is because most of the people are black and stupid. LMAO the truth hurts sometimes I know. I hope your not from there.

  • wtf? i hope ur joking, anyway... i can't see my original comment for this video, did you erase it MyEarbot?

  • All people are black, and most people are stupid*, besides the rich gets out unlike in Latin America where the poor gets out.

  • they have a corrupt gov and of course the white haitians get it all, so shut up you stupid racist prick, just because they dont recive opportunitys doesent mean all black haitians are stupid. fool

  • Word up, dude. Let these pigs know!

  • Sorry, but that life. Live with it.

  • The popular myth spread by the U.S. and European media was that pre-Castro Cuba was a basket case that needed a socialist revolution. Not so, said the U.S. Department of Commerce. Cubans had the highest standard of living and per capita income in the hemisphere, higher than Argentina and Uruguay. (Commerce Department publication, July 1956, Investment in Cuba, Page 5)

And, Cuban Americans know the past...

  • 2) Environmentally the place is destroyed, economically its backwards, spiritually it's corrosive & morally rusted, were suicide is constant & the future looks bleak as always for the young. But, Cuba is way to cool for you Leftist Hippies who are on the wrong side of logic.

  • You want to talk logic, dude, you've never been there, you've never seen it with your own eyes. Try this, study the rest of Latin America, check out the Dominican Republic, go to Guatemala, and then go to Cuba. Then you'll actually appreciate what the Revolution has done. Study US imperialism and how this lovely capitalist system ravaged underdeveloped countries, then you'll admire Cuba and it's refusal to be colonized. As a Cuban, that's something to be proud of. I pray that you get to see it.

  • 1) In this communist outpost of Tyranny next door, even the most valuable of rare books, maps, engravings have disappeared from archives & libraries. Including paintings, sculptures & other works of art have been purged, concealed & sold. All museums & lets not even account for the private residences that were in Cuba, have all been stolen. A precious & once prosperous & advanced culture has been stolen to enlarge Fidel's reserves & cronies.

  • Lastly, and I'm saying goodbye after this, how about this, Mr. FreeSpeech, do you know that Cuban sites are blocked in the US? Sites with ".cu" except for Granma. Why does the govt unconstitutionally (you know the Constitution, right?) impose a travel ban to Cuba? Why does the UN vote 183-4 for the past 15 years in favor of ending the blockade? You really have to wonder about a place you're not given much info about. Ask yourself this:

WHY DON'T THEY WANT US TO SEE CUBA?

    Peace

  • One day soon Cuba's experience will show the world her accounts & archives from the atrocities left by Castro & Co. Communist regimes always violate humanity & all physical structures, as private property & the capacity for freedom go hand in hand. Is the world ready to see & know about the mass executions in Castro's Cuba?!

  • With all due respect, my brother, I'm bored with this conversation. You really have swallowed everything they told you. You need some serious reprogramming. I'd love for us to have this conversation over some coffee in La Plaza de la Revolucion. No disrespect, but you are speaking out of a position of ignorance. Please send me a message when you are willing to form your own opinion and not what you've been force fed. I hope that's soon, companero.

  • A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal & work ethic & then try to impose economic & social equality on the population, as socialists do.

It's painfully obvious, how communists do equality...

Take the fight where everybody is free to challenge the vested interests of everybody else. Only with Capitalism freedom reaches highest expression!!

  • Can I tell you something, homes, I just got back from Cuba and everything I've ever been told about Cuba, especially that which comes from Miami, is a lie. Cubans can travel. Culture is heavily promoted. Most of all, although people may not have BMWs or flat screens, Cubanos have a lot of national pride, something that Americans don't understand. Cubans in Cuba, not the arrogant ones in Florida, have a lot of warmth and love for man. What does solidarity mean?

  • Why doesn't the US government want us to see Cuba?

  • BigDan: For years, Cuba received $5 billion a yr. subsidy from the Soviets. That is a lot of money/ handouts, communist Cuba should be wealthy. Instead, its people have government ration cards & starvation portions that make them far worse off than Cuban slaves in 1842. How did this happen? Fidel Castro is the reason; he has ravaged a country & its people for 50 years & has created communist insurgencies everywhere. Until Cuba changes it's repressive tactics, the US will not applaud them.

  • And this is a lame argument made by imperialists. I know you mean well, brother, but the only way the US will let Cuba be is if it is willing to be a colony, a cesspool if you will, the way it was under Batista. US has been trying for 200 years to colonize Cuba. Look at Guatemala and Nicaragua, they followed the US advice. 1% of the country is very rich, while the majority is very poor. The US is more concerned with furthering the empire than human rights.

  • The future looks bright now; Cuba's government on the other day announced SIZABLE Raises for retirees & court employees & promised future pay hikes for other government workers. So, "in May, more than 2.1 million retirees will receive pension increases of just UNDER $2 a month, raising the minimum monthly pensions to $9.50," according to a notice published in the commie youth newspaper Juventud Rebelde. --AP

Hmmm, the Cuban revolution is worth a shameful $9.50-$20.00 a month.

  • You have to let go of your American thinking. I'll tell you what, I bet retirees in Cuba don't have to work at Wal-Mart in their 80s because Medicare won't fully cover the costs of their meds. Retirees in Cuba don't have to worry about selling their house to pay for meds.

  • It's pathetic as to why all you "Useful Idiots" are so excited to advertise your ignorance on the net?

Oh brother, here we go again, Batista...

  • Very mature, engaging, intellectual remark that typifies the arrogance in Miami. Let's stay away from name calling because you'll say "useful idiot," I'll call you "spineless gusano" and how productive is that? Why couldn't we have an intellectual debate?

  • 1) By the way, the Cuban Revolution was started by the middle class, the wealthy & University students.

  • What does this mean? Lame argument. Fidel was the son of a wealthy landowner. The wealthiest family in a very poor area. Yet during the agrarian reforms the land where his family owned wasn't set to the side, it was divided and some was given to the people who had nothing. What does that tell you?

  • 2) After 6 ½ yrs, Cubans didn't want a Totalitarian, Batista-light skinned black man & a member of the Cuban Communist party to keep ruling them any longer. So Castro, takes power in a force of arms coup, jails & executes every political opponent, uses no juries & bans elections; who NEEDS Freedom under this Communist subjugation. I am beginning to think all of you "Useful Idiots" can not have Castro's 49 yr old totalitarian dictatorship fail & the USA win the realm of decency & human freedom.

  • How about this, brother, we could debate nonstop and you won't be convinced and you surely won't convince me. I challenge you to actually go to Cuba, walk down the Malecon in Havana and talk to people. Cubans love to talk. See how "oppressed" they are. How they aren't living to work as we are, worrying about foreclosures and gas prices. You'll have a different perspective once you see the warmth of the people. Do that, brother, and see if you come back with this republican rhetoric. You won't.

  • Yes, Cubans love to talk. But, can they talk freely? I don't think so! Can the average Cuban citizen travel freely, too? You bet they can't! These people can't even leave the island or travel the world. The government is afraid that all their intellectuals, poets, dissenters, arts, athletes & regular folks will leave. Yup, noting is allowed in this police state, because they are still stuck 50 yrs in the past & ruled by one family, Castro & Co. Established 50 years ago and still counting!

  • 1) For 49 horrible years, Fidel has ruled with an iron fist. Castro has chastised & punished all Cubans, he hates them. He's developed a great extent of laws & programs to transform Cuban society, the home, the influence of the family, its traditions, the culture, the economic system, sports, the influence of religions, & etc... Yet, all methods to create the "New Man" have been either indirectly or directly coercive.

  • Government of the people, is that what we have? 43% of Cuba's assembly is women. We have 100 US Senators, TWO women, one black. We have white men making a quarter of a million dollars, career politicians. That doesn't represent me, homes. I don't know about you. Politicians at the lower levels in Cuba aren't career politicians. After the 2000 debacle, I don't think the US can engage in the "our system is better" debate for a long time.

  • 1)2) So, who owns Cuba? There is no doubt that now more than ever, Cuba has become the personal possession of the Castro clan. During the past few yrs family members of both Fidel & Raul Castro have come to occupy important positions in Cuba's government. This Castro clan represents in addition to the military, the security apparatus & the Communist Party, a significant force in Cuba's political & economic structures.

  • 2) Imagine that after 50 yrs, the families of Fidel & Raul Castro are occupying important positions in the Cuban regime.

The logic seems to go something like this: Rewarding & Enriching the KGB-trained & heavily armed guardians of Cuba's Stalinist status-quo; first-hand experience under Cuba's Stalinist regime.

Oh, and for the record, the U.S. is currently Cuba's number one food supplier and 4th biggest trading partner, while Cuba trades with every nation on earth.

  • This is not true, homes. While I wouldn't call one-way dealing "trade," Cuba does prepay for some food from the US. But Cuba trading with other countries is limited. Wikipedia the Helms-Burton Act and the Torricelli Act. The US has been trying to choke out the Revolution and it can't!

  • Communism has violated the basic tenets of civilization. It teaches & seeks 2 objectives: unrelenting class warfare & complete eradication of all private ownership. Thus, every means possible are employed on its people, even the most violent. And, this even means one's own individualistic religion or free speech. Its destruction is ferocious in its cruelty, inhumane. It has laid waste to vast regions! A complete slaughter of its own people is what communism has brought around the world.

  • I know you're angry but your facts are severely skewed. First off, class warfare is the major tenet of CAPITALISM! Most Cubans own their homes. Now, capitalism has wreaked major havoc in the world. Look at the mess Latin America is in; Cuba is in better shape than most of those countries. US puppet governments were put in place in Central America and there's a huge disparity in wealth. Dude, look at the US. Go to Liberty City, then go to Coral Gables. How many blacks are in Coral Gables?

  • 1) The people who live In Coral Gables-Miami are individuals who have worked hard for their money & deserve the best; they don't depend on the state & big governemnt for handouts.

  • 2) Consequently, Liberty City is a place where people do not strive to reach their fullest potential. No they rely on big government to give them crumbs. Democrats push the welfare state; look at what liberal policy has done to the black family. The problem is that socialism robs individuals of their own identity, their own ambition, their own desires, and their own passions & it robs them of their dreams because it doesn't allow any of that. By the way, Detroit is a leftist-liberal run city!!

  • Are Detroit and the rust belt cities decaying because of liberalism or because of capitalism; the corporations that were there but left those cities for cheaper labor in Mexico and abroad? Why are all the people in Liberty City one color and Coral Gables a different color? Are blacks inherently lazier?

  • If by conservative government you mean belief in free markets, limited government & traditional morality & religion, then these are all things that the communists oppose or as "Liberal Fascists" do today. The Left does not allow for individual achievement. That's a problem! If you outpace somebody else, out-earn somebody else, you then have to be punished for that, the left punishes anyone for their productivity.

  • I don't have a problem with earning more if you produce more. As a matter of fact, I visited tobacco factories and book factories in Cuba, and if the workers produce more, they earn more as well. For argument's sake, if I own a book store and I make a lot of money off it, the community has supported me. Therefore, I owe it to reinvest in the community, not only concern myself with profit. You see what I mean?

  • Hmmmm! A Private book store in Cuba?

Aren't the only books allowed in the "Tropical Gulag" are books on Che, communism & Socialism. How about the individual right of the Cuban citizen, wanting to read something intellectually stimulating without having to be punished or indoctrinated by the CDR? Ask yourself: How many books on capitalism can you sell or get in Cuba? You won't find any books on laissez-faire capitalism in Cuba, it's illegal. Talk about having free choose in the matter.

  • The Cuban government maintains a media monopoly on the island, ensuring that freedom of expression is virtually nonexistent. Although a small number of independent journalists manage to write articles for foreign websites or publish underground newsletters, the risks associated w/ these activities are considerable. Anyone caught surfing the Net, gets 5 yrs in Jail. Imagine this place, where there are only 3 State run TV channels for viewing & only 3 National government controlled news papers.

  • Can I ask you something, homes, are you of Cuban descent? I'm Puerto Rican but I felt so much pride being in Cuba and the fact that for 200 years Cuba refuses to be a US colony, and insists on its independence. You should be proud of that. That's what pisses the US off. I wish PR would be free from imperialism. Journalists are not killed in Cuba as in other places. Cubans have internet access. I don't know where you got that whopper from. Miami I presume. I email my Cuban friends often.

  • Capitalism needs racism and sexism; competition and division in general. I'm not an economics major or poli/sci. All I can tell you is what I saw: I saw blacks and whites in Cuba rally together under the Cuban flag, proud to be Cuban. You will not see that in the US, not even after 9/11.

  • Listen brother, the truth is confronting, yet ever notice that all Communist regimes are/ were atheistic at their core & forced the "New Man" psychosis on all its victims. In part, the "New Man" with its officialdom, the Communist Manifesto & inspired Bolshevik gangsters, slaughtered, starved, purged, & violated over 150 million individuals around the world. Communism has only KILLED 150 million people. Let's give it another chance!!

  • I don't deny that Stalin killed many people. Communists have denounced him. It is also a fact that right wing leaders like Hitler have killed many people. Crazy is crazy on any spectrum. What is Bush and his cronies doing in Iraq? Killing for the sake of the empire.

  • Please, educate yourself: The Big Lie of the late 20th century was that Nazism was Rightist. It was in fact typical of the Leftism of its day. It was only to the Right of Stalin's Communism. The very word "Nazi" is a German abbreviation for "National Socialist" (Nationalsozialist) and the full name of Hitler's political party (translated) was "The National Socialist German Workers' Party"

    Yes, another failed socialist experiment!

  • You might want to recheck your facts. Socialists and any "left of center" political prisoners were in Nazi camps along with Catholics and religious clergy, and homosexuals and of course, Jews. Communists were considered undesirables and were persecuted as well.

  • 2)It is virtually impossible for Cubans to travel abroad; it's illegal, unless you are so old that you are worthless to the socialist cause. Consequently, it took my grandmother 26 yrs for her to leave & see her son, my father!

  • I never knew what solidarity meant until I went to Cuba. While we export war, Cuba exports doctors and teachers. Why did the Cuban government respond faster to Hurricane Katrina than the US government? That is fucking solidarity for the people, homes.

  • Let me tell you one more thing, brother, if you were a true Christian, you'd be a Communist. Read Acts 2:45. Capitalism is unChristian. Jesus was a true revolutionary, true Communist.

  • Hey BigDan: Educate yourself please! You are doing great harm to Cubans who instead need a voice that speak for them, their humanity and basic rights! Please no more lies from propagandists like yourself! All Communist dictators have been & are Atheists! For what you ask, to formed their subjects: Sociologically & ideologically these despots erase any attachments to their subject's past t & form the "New Man" for the socialist state. By all means this includes an individual's faith in Christ.

  • My brother, everything I'm telling you can be verified. Just check your bible, homes. I'm telling what I've read. Early on in the Revolution, members of the Catholic church couldn't join the Communist party. That had more to do with a refusal to join the military. The government has since rectified that. Religion is strong there, brother.

  • capitalist or comunist, doesn't make any sense! they're just lifestyles but u can obey god and help ppl that needs help! look how do you shall help ppl? by defeating the president of cuba or giving the cuba ppl a chance to survive in that mess?

  • First off, what is this mess? Look around Latin America or even middle America. I've spent a lot of time in Detroit, brother, and I tell you Havana is in better shape than Detroit. Cuba is in better shape than most Latin American countries than allowed themselves to be whores of the US. There's a lot of propaganda here, homes.

  • Lastly, my brother, I don't know the rules. I know my Cuban friends have traveled abroad, though there are restrictions. Now, Cuba has been in a state of war for 50 years. Look at the restrictions in place here in the past 8 years caused by a fragmented group. Imagine if Al Qaeda were the most powerful nation in the world and has actually tried to invade and overthrow the govt. Would we still have the same rights we do today? So there are restrictions, but please see the big picture.

  • Go to Cuba, because it's much of the same with Castro's Cuba & its "workers paradise" where the monthly salary for an individual is about $12.00 a month.

    It has been:

49 years with a ration book!

49 years without a free election!

49 years without a free press!

    49 years of oppression!

    49 years without human rights!

49 years of the exploitation of the Cuban worker!

49 years with over 200,000 deaths & 2 million exiles!

  • It also has 98% literacy rate.

    0% homelessness

    Universal healthcare

    Free education

Lowest infant mortality rate in this hemisphere

  • Again with the Cuban healthcare system, where exactly did this myth begin that this repressive island prison has quality healthcare? These people are driving 1950s automobiles, there's food rationing, nobody except the elite have any money, and we're supposed to believe they have quality healthcare?

  • Still more of the same: In Cuba, people can't decide where they wish to travel, work or live, how they want to spend their skimpy earnings, what they choose to read(yup, free education) or what ideas seem to them luminous or not smart. In Cuba, the government has decided everything. You are only a subject there, not an individual, because it's dangerous to dare to foresee a future different from the one predicted by the mandarins of the cult. As always, the future in Cuba looks grim & dark.

  • BigDanNYM31:

The reason for the low infant mortality rate in Cuba is that Cuban woman have the highest abortion rate, they are also the most suicidal ladies in the whole western hemisphere...

  • 1) For 50 yrs it's been hell for the proletariat! Cuba is one of the worst violators of ALL human rights including in the area of labor. Workers constantly suffer the poorest working conditions, have no right to organize in labor unions, which are banned; workers live under constant surveillance, threats & intimidations of being "transferred" or sent to "rehabilitation" & "reeducation" camps if deemed to be "lazy," a capitalist, selfish, indulgent or doesn't express revolutionary enthusiasm.

  • You know, man, I thought we just had opposing views and I could respect that. I actually think now either you are seriously brainwashed or you just randomly making up facts. Can I ask you two questions: First, why are you so angry at Cuba? Again, I challenge you to go see it. Secondly, where do you get your seriously misguided info? There are in fact unions. If workers have problems they voice their issues.

  • I take pity in you, in helping the most repressive & longest lasting dictatorship in the Western Hemisphere. You talk much of free education in Cuba, yet as it ever occurred that Cuban's can't intellectualize thought in Castro's Cuba, read or find any books on Libertarian thought, economic-free markets, on human rights, or let alone read Alan Greenspan's autobiography, like dear commandante read & showed us on TV about a year or 2 ago! You purging FOOL!
