@Obsidian1392 Just wondering have you ever done a very heavy overhead squat? The mechanics involved are completely different than a back squat. There is a much greater coordination of the spinal colum with the arms and the legs versus a regular back squat.
@hzlwdcntrlftbll Dude probably never did a overhead squat, you're right the mechanics is totally different. Squeezing the traps to stabilize the weight plus squating is a major mind fuck for most people.
@hzlwdcntrlftbll Mechanics of the shoulders and spinal column are different, yet, but the back squat simulates the overhead movement very well. That's why Oly lifters train FS for cleans and BS for snatch.
@EndlersaurusRex Undestood.....but simply saying that an overhead squat is basically like as back squat is simply just not true. The overhead squat takes far more overall coordination and balance than the regular back squat
Lifters (including me) with non "lockable" arms, usually have to do Jerks like these. The reason is that the pressure lands on the shoulders instead of the arms.
actually if you look really close, they do lock out, but his elbow rotate backwards and it appears they don't lock out. dimas was the same was. this is actually an advantage, you just have to rotate your shoulders and there you go.
a front squat and a back squat in the same movement? that's badass
