In July/August 1967, Jimi went to a recording studio called Studio 76 to jam and visit with Curtis Knight and The Squires (he used to be in the band in 1965/66). He brought his Hagstrom 8 string bass and the wha-wha pedal he had recently bought and jammed with Knight & the musicians there. This is a jam to demonstrate the wah from those sessions. Jimi asked his name not be used on any of the stuff he played on but they did anyways and released lots of lp's mixed with 1965/66 and these sessions.
certain parts are jimi, others are not, his own words on these recordings thoughh are that he was chopped and sliced so much on the recordings. good points on the subtle frustration thats very true of jimi
i dont think its fake, it sounds like he is just feeling out the groove and having fun with the wah. and listen to the recordings from the same session 'hush now' jimi plays a similar way
Yeah? I don't know. It could be from 1965 or 66 before he learned to write his own songs. It could be, but don't forget there were a lot of albums "pulled" in the 1970s for being "fake". I'm suspicious when I don't hear his voice. What album is this from?
@RadioUgly i dont hear the subtle frustration when jimi knew he was floundering and not really taking the sound anywhere. there are also some new sound effects here that i'm sure he would have applied elsewhere. therefore i also think it's likely false.
@egodust11 Yeah, Jimi's music is very "tense" sounding and this sounds too smooth. There was a lot of "fake" Hendrix albums that were released in the 1970s, kind of like the "Bruce Li" kung fu movies of the same era. : (
Are You Guys kidding Me?Nobody's got nothing to say about this Fine Masterpiece? Jimi's pouring his guts into this 'way ahead of it's time',star wars sounding,(before that shit was invented),sounding Music that nobody's got nothin' to say about it?Are You freakin' kidding me?ON FIRE!!!!!
I'm personally gonna rape the first cunt that dislikes this.
