  • Could you please post all the episodes of series 3???

  • I used to enjoy this series as a favorite some time ago , thank you for the posts ! Bernard Hepton was great in anything !

  • could someone please post 'kessler'?

  • The best Drama series ever made by the BBC.

  • This is amazing!! Allo allo has been a huge success here in Poland, almost everybody watched it but there isn't any single soul who watched this series here, If it wasn't for my English teacher who told us about it I would never be aware about the existence of The Secret Army although I must confess its a very interesting series.

  • He (papa) can speak Dutch .

  • Thank you, so much. I love this series, and you've made me so very happy.

  • Never heard of this but it looks really interesting. Glad I found it.

  • he can not speak dutch

  • It's the Colditz Kommandant....excellent

  • can sombody help me.

I am searching for the episode in witch Brussels is liberated. I played in this serie as a 10year old boy. A british jeep is riding througt the streets of Brussel and than i was there.....we were happy to see te british troops and as far as i remeber the man who deliverd the vegtibles to the candide was also siting in this jeep....Can somboddy help me to find this episode ?

  • good stuff i also remember something in about 1983 the fourth arm ,i think

  • does anyone have any videos of the 1985 tv drama (4 hours) , it was a 2 parter about a true story called Jenny's war?

  • Johnny's War you mean?

  • @Rosi

No but l did enjoy it when l watched it years ago, thanks for the reminder. Reilly Ace of Spies was interesting, though the script was not as tight.

  • During the war,my grand-father's only wish was to shoot down a German plane ......Last week his wish came true.

  • I only just and no more remember this series I think it was the final series I saw I remember the German officer with grey hair I think thats all I remember this series has never been repeated on British TV not as far as I remember anyway.

  • @tich302001 that's fascinating

  • Watch more of it, it's anything but boring. Very dramatic and heartwrenching and has action. Not like modern tv though.

  • Enemy at the Door (1978) was good as well.both were beautiful.

  • @samtyn i dont remember enemy at the door where was it set ?

  • I had forgotten just how good this BRT/BBC co-production was.

Mostly I had forgotten the sustained sense of menace and evasion that every week obsessed and frightened me.

  • Clifford Rose for the win! Such a good actor.

  • great show they will never make a show like this again

  • Crazy thing is that I actually liked that Luftwaffe officer, he was a bit of a dude. Uptight, but still a dude.

My German girlfriend does not understand why I like this show.

  • I remember watching these on A&E before they just showed Law and Order almost exclusively. Arts and Entertainment is now a misnomer.

  • Tina lucas died 08 august 2009 in Hasselt Belgium at the age of 93 years. She was the person the BBC serie was based on. She helped 28 English pilots back over the Canal to there homecountry risking her own life. Here husband Lucien was shot in 1944 for actions against the Germans.

    Rest in peace.

    Steven

  • There will be thousands to do the same if the same thing happens tomorrow, Belgium has a deeply rooted anti authoritarian tradition, dating from the ages that the church burned people alive for their beliefs

  • BRILLANT!! thanks for the memories

  • Clifford Rose also starred in the "WINDS OF WAR"

  • He was in the sequel War and Rememberance.

but both series equaly as good

  • very good one! I used to watch it in persian in Iran.

  • me too...although I was no more than 6 or 7, I was still intrigued by it very much...

  • Has Clifford Rose been in any thing else? He was just brilliant in this series, so cold you'd think he was made of ice...

  • Clifford Rose starred in a miniseries and sequel to 'The secret army' called 'Kessler' from 1981. It deals with the hunt for Kessler in the 1980s in Latin America.

  • Best BBC drama ever

  • Why is the Luftwaffe doing a search? is like the RAF doing a search. It should be done by the Gestapo or SD.

  • Or the Polizei.

  • politei - they are in occupied Holland are they not?

    Polizei are/were in Germany

  • This series was set in Belgium

  • @hoadmaback its not holland its belgium

  • The Luftwaffe were officially responsible for allied airmen, perhaps they are looking for fugitive shot-down airmen?

  • Although Brandt was the "enemy" he was my favourite

  • Never used to watch this one, don't know why maybe there was something else on the other channel (we only had two back then).thanks for posting, top notch show!

  • The best Drama series ever made.

  • Thankyou so much for uploading this video. I have never seen this programme before but I was told about it. I am portraying a character called Herr Zeiger who is very similar to Kessler and this gives me some great ideas to add to my character so thankyou very much.

  • I was only a kid when this was on

  • Finally I found 'm. Great you've placed the series on the net. I was only 7 years old, but never forgot the intro music and "Kessler".

  • Michael Culver was sooooo hot

  • is allo alllo a persiflage

    that wat i always thougt

  • I love the music in the beginning. I remember my parents were watching "Secret Army" on television when I was just a kid and how I always found the intro (with the zooming images) a bit scary, although I thought that the music had some atmosphere to it already back then. I haven't seen this for so many years so it was really nice to hear that lovely intro again! :)

  • forgot to mention ,supertramp on ebay uk

  • i wish i could find these on dvd :(

Or that someone could make a torrent :)

  • you can ,off supertramp , thats where l bought mine from, at 85 pounds for 12 discs

  • supertramp? ok ill look into it, thanks for the tip :)

  • Thank You BF kate for posting these Episodes...I was about 8 y.o and after recently watching a few episodes on Sky at my Father's, I hope to buy the Complete box-set very soon, Best wishes Adrian.

  • You do know that the man who player 'Kessler' in Secret Army is the same guy that played 'Kessler' in Kessler? Oh, you're referring to 'Kestler', which doesnt exsist.

  • They've been showing this quite recently on Uk History. It's a good series and I've just started watching it.

  • Don't know who I pefer, Brandt or Reindhert.

  • Like a lot of 70s TV drama this was as serious as the gallows but it was good.

  • You can't get this video (besides here) that will play on Region 1 (US, Canada) TVs. I ordered a copy of the DVDs from Europe and then had to be a "universal" DVD player rigged to play DVDs from all Regions. I lived in the Netherlands on assignment during the early 1980s and used to watch this series on Belgian TV. Absolutely terrific.

  • l agree this was a superb series, you just do not get stuff on tv these days like this, someone made a comment of the fliers were very boyish , they were , they were only 19 and 20 ,

  • I love this series too,such a shock when Yvette(Jan Francis)is killed.

  • god, I hope you haven't just ruined the series for some poor teenager whose parent has just yelled at them. "Oi, come here and look at this."

  • greate sereis ~:)

  • your identification is your life .love it

  • great to see this repeated hope they re-run kessler also

  • awesome! i used to watch this as little kid in belgium. the music beamed me back to the 80's and still gives me the creeps.

    thanks a million, kate.

i will have weary eyes going into work tomorrow ;)

  • great, i used 2 watch it in Iran!

  • will you be posting the entire series?

  • Hi Spaceboy, I will be posting some more. Bit worried if I overdo it the material will get pulled and I'll be explaining myself before Copyright Sturmbannfuhrer Kesser.

  • @BFKate Does anyone remember a BBC series called "The Life and TImes of Lloyd George" - with Philip Madoc as LG? It'd be lovely if someone could upload that series.

  • @BFKate hahaha! Great!!

  • Hmm...is the guy saying prayers "Mr Baxter" from "Grange Hill"?

  • That would be Michael Culver. He is so cool. My faviourite little fascist, err.

  • Thanks for posting this:) I'm just getting into this drama on UK History. I was far too young to remember when it was first shown.

  • HOLY SHIT IT"S CAPTAIN NEEDA AT 2:10!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    (as Major Erwin Brandt)

  • Those German bastards! Thank god we fort that war against them. Though the European Union is going to rule us in the future. So what's the difference bewteen them and what were the Nazis? Not much I can tell you.

  • so you compair us with the Nazis:O you are soooo stupid... lern more about the union and after that tell us your opinion. than you know what you're talking about...... f*ker

  • excuse my rather bad English... but you know what I mean and you can't speek Dutch;)

  • exsue my rather bad English but you know what I mean and you can't speak Dutch;)

  • I don't have to because the European Commission is an unelected body made up mostly by Germans. Who to say that one day there could come out of this body some totalitarian will arise. PS try not swear ii limits vocabulary I here.

  • There was a great documentary about the beginnings of the European Union in R$ a few months back. In the early days it was staffed by pretty visionary people. Some of them had fought against each other in WWII and it was that which drove them on, i.e. the desire to avoid another war in Europe. Apparently one of the delegates in the early dasy was a fighter pilot who kept the propellor from his old fighter on the wall behind his desk!

  • Spell check I meant `R4' and `days'

  • Ohh fumble fingers tonight. I meant there was a great documentary ON R4.... Must leave off the Gin.

  • BFKate,

I don't have words enough to thank you for posting episodes of S.A.

This show was broadcast here in Brazil at 80's in a channel that closed some years ago. I have recorded that in VHS at that time but I've missed some episodes.

Do you have intention to post the episode "Good Friday"? I think that episode is one of the best of the first S.A. season.

    :-))

    Tumminelli

  • I will post Good friday at some point. assuming TPTB don't grab me violently by my infringement and ban me.

  • thanks kate.

Was just looking for that music, still gives me the creeps.

  • Thank you Kate for uploading this series. They used to show it in the 80's in Srilanka and it was quite popular then. It was after this that we watched the comedy spin off of this called ALLO ALLO. But this is the original and the best.

  • And now I see you've posted even more episodes! I think I love you, Kate! (Allmost as much as I was in love with Juliet Hammond-Hill when I was twelve years old... ;o))

  • Cheers Ingar, that made me laugh, but I know what you mean. The Music over the opening credits is like a time machine for me, as soon as it starts I am transported immediately back. I have another couple of eps to put up so watch this space. Kate.

  • Oh, God bless you, BFKate! I've been longing for this series ever since I saw it as a boy in the early eighties (I'm from Norway and it was aired a bit later than in the UK). And here it is!

  • It's my pleasure ingarthon, I love this show probably to an unhealthy degree! The more that people see it the better.

    Kate

  • i agree completely, Kate! and now that I watch this again for the first time in more than twenty years i realise just how good it was! somtimes trying to re-live adolescent experiences may prove a disappointment (as in re-reading 'the hardy boys..'). but the degree of historical realism and accuracy of this series (not to mention emotional intensity) is just amazing!
