  • Can you dei of their poisone?

  • @MuzzicTube It has happened but it is extremely rare. Pain, nausea and swellings around the bite are typical symptoms.

  • I study these in the Netherlands, they live here in the wild as well as the only venomous snake. They're really beauties arent they:)

  • @PrinceCharming25 Yes they are! ;) Very interesting creatures! Thanks for your comment :)

  • Nice ! Have you ever got bitten by a viper ? if so how was the pain from 1-10 ?

Great info , thank you !

    Greatings from Sweden

  • @markeii No, I have never been bitten. Glad you liked the video ;)

  • @markeii I've been bitten. It's not as painful as you'd think mabye a 3-4.

  • @OptoOcto ok 3-4 is not to bad but how long did the pain last ? was it a pulsating pain or a burn ? and by the way where did you get bit ?

Merry christmas and a happy new year!

    //Mark

  • Watched and loved this video thax guys for sharing

  • Awesome video

  • @Shyguyx12 Thank you!! Glad you ejoyed it! ;)

  • 1:00 that is one mean looking bastard!

  • Grym video! Riktigt bra.

  • @jenoswe Tusen takk for det! ;) Hyggelig at du likte den!

  • Beauty!

    Greetings from Lithuania :]

  • @UnexpectedDianne I agree! Thank you ;)

  • I have a mountain chalet in Romania and there are plenty of snakes like this, vipera berus. How can i make them go away? Its not that i'm afraid but i dont like them i can once accidentaly step on it and it will atack. there are a lot :) what should i do? thank you. nice vid

  • @preacurvios they wont harm u if u give them space !!! but try to stamp your feet if there in your way.and your very lucky wish i could join you there then you would not have to worry

  • I sent you a vid reaction mate I had an adder on my cam but it slipped as soon as I pushed the record butten so you probably only see her tail...

  • This is the most awesome snake ever! I hunt them down (not literally, just want them on a picture I don't ever touch those guys) and take a picture of them. It's very bad they are heavily endangered here in the Netherlands, but I make a study out of them. Everytime I see them I get more and more impressed of them. Great vid mate! 10+!

  • @PrinceCharming25 Thank you! Yes they are fascinating creatures! Hope you get some great vipera-photos ;)

  • @martinkv81

I did get some photo's at great risk though, got a little bit to close with my camera. It struck at me with a near miss, but do you now how cool it is to get THAT shot when a berus strikes at you with an open mouth? it's a little bit blurry but I got it together with some more photo's:)

  • @PrinceCharming25 Sounds awsome!! You should put together a picture-video here on youtube!?

Let me know if you publish your photos, I would love to see ;)

  • @martinkv81

As soon I know how to, you'd be the first one! Do you share my oppinion when I say there's far too less on National Geographic, Animal planet and discovery channel on the berus? I'd really love to see a Steve Austins or Jeff Corwin video docomentury on it...

  • @PrinceCharming25 That would be great ;)

  • I love your nature and your countryside, I wish I could live there!!!

  • @abejorro34 Thank you! Come visit Norway ;)

  • I've killed 2 so far this year, aint gonna risk my dog getting bit by one.

  • @SuperTrixter123 1 old man near my city was killed by this snake today

  • @SuperTrixter123 That was unnecessary, if your dog gets bit it's not likely to die. My dog(a pudel who died cuz of age) got bit by a vipera berus once and he survived all fine. As long as it's not some sort of sissy chihuahua your dog will be fine.

Fucking stupid to kill an innocent snake, it's like me killing all foxes just because my rabbit might be killed by one.

  • @mullewt who gives a fuck, I kill like 10 snakes per yer. They shouldnt be in my yard to start with.

  • beautiful snakes

  • @Greldek I think so too ;) Thanks for commenting!

  • @Greldek, I only like the non venomous snakes.

  • Leave these vipers alone!

  • so beutiful. i live in denmark and am really proud of our very special wildlife in scandinavia (as well as the rest of europe)

  • @stoffer2810 I agree! ;) Thank you for commenting!

  • By my familys summer-cabin here in Sweden there's a few vipers/adders. i remember "the old one" as with called him all black what i can remember, he and maybe more lived under the outhouse, Imagen going there at night to take a shit :) No one has ever been bitten there so best to leave them alone. We never use the out house now days, not the house for that matter, (leaking roof etc etc.)

Remember a black one in the forest, and from what i can remember the zig-zag on his back was light yellow.

  • What an amazing animal. And it's so odd that it lives here in Norway xD

  • @northmetalguy I know! ;) They are great looking, and incredibly fascinating creatures ;)

  • @northmetalguy norskefaen

  • the easiest way to make different is the eyes...som snokar can look like hugorm..

  • Hey!

great video. real interesting on habitat when going North. I'm volunteering in research in these snakes where I live. Are you doing this for research too?

    greets!

  • @Cadian761 Wow! That sounds interesting! Good luck with that! :)

The reason why I made this film, was to show people that theese animals are not mindless evil monsters, and there is no reason to kill them.

Too many people kill them as soon as they see them. Theese are realy misunderstood creatures ;)

  • @martinkv81

Thanks! I still enjoy it every time I go out.

I'm surely coming to Norway in the oncoming years. Maybe that I can find some too. It strikes me that there is a major color difference and size difference in these Norwegian adders.

    Good luck!

  • Tusen takk for filmen, jeg har set mange hoggorm i England, men aldrig i Skandinavien.Det var spaenende at ser.Norge ser vackert ut.

  • @evajom1 Thank you ;) I'm glad you liked it! You should visit Norway sometime ;)

  • man id love to see one live!

i live in germany, never had the luck!

ill sure stay the heck away from it but id still love watching it!

i only have 3 not venomous snakes though :)

  • @SezFromMalygos They realy are fascinating and great looking creatures ;)

Hope you get to see one, some day! Look to south-facing hills, in and around piles of rocks or wood.

Good luck, and thanks for the comment ;)

  • I've found two One very big one=) And one baby..

  • @TheSnakeIdiot Nice!! ;)

  • Have you ever been bitten?

And you should make a film about (Coronella Austriaca) if you have enough footage. =)

  • @TheSnakeIdiot I have never been bitten ;)

I would love to film Coronella Austriaca, but I have to travel a bit to find them.

  • I believe this is the snake that bit my mother-in-law in Byglandsfjord,Norway this summer.

  • Fantastic and informative, great video

  • @PlayThething Thank you! I'm glad you liked it ;)

  • amazing, I admire you!

  • @pyskatamalolata Thank you ;)

  • great video!

    i love snakes :)

  • @89boondock89 Thank you! Glad you liked it ;)

  • Fantastic video mate. Really enjoyed watching it. well done!

  • @CryingFlute Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it ;)

  • Flott video, hjalp meg å komme over huggormskrekken...

Takk for du laga denne videoen!!

  • @mggnet135 Flott at det hjalp litt å se videoen! :) Takk for kommentaren!

  • How many species of snakes are there in Norway?

Here in Latvia we have three: Natrix natrix, which is the most common and can be easily found even near human dwellings, Vipera berus, which is more reclusive, but still quite common and Coronella austriaca, which is very rare and hardly anyone here has seen one in wild.

  • @givebackrankflv There are three species of snakes here in Norway as well. In fact, we the same three species as you have in Latvia. Buorm - Natrix natrix, hoggorm - Vipera berus and slettsnok - Coronella austriaca.

  • in our country Vipera Berus is the only venomous snake :)

  • @bukasirbukesnis That is the case here as well ;)

  • @bukasirbukesnis That is the case here in Norway as well ;)

  • Great Video about a beautyful animal. Thanks a lot for making this!

  • @rostfleck79 Thank you! I'm glad you liked it ;)

  • Great video, true respect and understanding

  • @fusilier45 Thank you very much! That means a lot!

  • Great video about a great animal!

    Greetings from Germany

  • @t0f7k Thank you ;)

  • that was an extrem good video.thanx for sharing.greetings from germany

  • Thank you very much! :) I'm glad you liked it!

  • Great vid showing both sexes of adder. I must admit that I have seen more dead than alive by quite away. Some people see the word venomous in books and when they see one they automatically try to kill it even though Adder venom is really weak and poses no real problem to people.

If you change 1 persons view of this beautiful snake then well done, more than that is a real bonus.

  • Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! :) I acctually know that I have made quite a few people think twice about this "dangerous" snake ;) And that's great! Some of my video also got on to national Norwegian TV, along with an interview with me ;)

  • sweet =D

  • Lovely video. People need to stop being afraid of these vipers. People who are killing these snakes on sight should really stop and think about what they're doing. Cheers from Sweden.

  • Thank you! :) I agree with you! There is no need to kill them! People just need to learn that theese snakes wont do anything to attack them! They will only defend themselves, if they need to.. and who can blame them for that?! ;)

Hyggelig at du likte videoen ;)

  • Thank you :) I'm glad you liked it!

  • absolutely fantastic video!! i been looking for decent vid's about vipera berus for a long time, and now i found one. :) if only you could improve the visibility of the subtitles somehow..

  • Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it! :) Yes I agree with you about the subtitles! I'll see what I can do ;)

  • awsome beast ... not aggressive at all and nice envirmont i hope il go to norway sometime

  • I agree! They realy are awsome ;) Thank's for your comment :)

  • @daco145 i recommend coming =)

if u wanna catch a vipera berus

u should come at spring and

look for one at a small road that goes in to some woodland.

  • nice vid! wath a beautiful snake!!!!!

  • Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it ;)

  • Takk for flott video. Takk igjen. Mvh. Per Christian og John Gabriel :-)

  • Nicely done video. The text in English could've been made to stand out better (yellow?). I thoroughly enjoyed it. :-)

  • I agree with you, and I did try different colours to try and make the subtitles stand out as much as possible. Windows Movie Maker, sadly, has no subtitle-function as far as I know..!? Thank you very much for your comment. I'm very glad you enjoyed it ;)

  • nice patterns

  • I agree ;) Great looking snake!

  • Virkelig interresant video!

  • wow did u manage to get right up to them without them running? are they really like that?

  • Initially, when I first approach them they try to escape (see 2:26 f.ex). These are realy shy snakes.

What I do is, I catch them and put them down in an open area. They curl up hissing, but they will calm down real quick if I act calm and do nothing to threaten them. When they start to calm down I can carefully and gradually, approach with my camera to get closeups. This is demonstrated from 2:14 to 2:52 when I pick up this male, put him on a rock. He calms down and we photograph him ;)

  • Thank you for replying and the great! information! ^_^. I really appreciate you taking the time to add english subititles too.

    Thanks

    Luke.

  • Thank you ;)

  • meget interessant klpp. har sett hoggorm i 800 meters høyde i vinje

  • Takk for det ;)

Ja det er hardføre dyr! :)

  • i almost stepped on a big one a month ago. pretty creepy.

  • It's a good thing you didn't :)

I have been close to stepping on them myself a few times. They have excellent camouflage :)

  • but they areny THAT posionouss tho, it wouldent kill me, but still ...probably hurt

  • I live in Scotland and have seen only 2 of these this year, 4 years ago I went out looking for them and would see at least 4 or 5 a day, these animals need to be saved.

  • I agree!

In the terrain where I filmed this video we haven't seen a single snake in five years! Suddenly this year we found many. Most of them adults, so obviously they must have been there all these years, only we could not find them ;)

Hope the number of snakes in your area picks up again! Thank you for your comment :)

  • Thank you ...This video is great...Honza Czech Republic

  • I'm glad you liked it ;) Thank you!

  • har du noen gang blitt bit?

  • Nei, aldri blitt bitt, (bank i bordet) ;)

  • utroligbra stå på!!!!!!!!!

  • Tusen takk for det!! ;)

  • bra video :)

Noe av dette er filmet på Karmøy ;)

  • Hey nhnho!

I was very gentle, and I released her unharmed ;) I believe that the more people learn about theese animals, the less likely they are to kill them when they see them in the wild. People fear what they don't know. That's what I'm trying to do here ;)

Hope you enjoyed the rest of the video ;)

  • Thanks it is great video.

In my village in latvia, they are much specially in meadows.

  • Thank you! I'm glad you liked it ;)

Maybe you can film some of the snakes you have in your village and upload the video here?? ;)

  • Takk for det!! :)

Bor 5 mil fra Haugesund, nermere bestemt, Ølen. Det er på sør-vest landet ;)

Hyggelig at du likte filmen :)

  • Fantastisk bra film :D Fem stjerner ;)

  • Up here in the north, they are active during the day. Especially mornings and evenings. After the sun setts they are often found on top of, or under, rocks that have been heated by the sun during the day ;) They need the sun. On cloudy cool days they may ligh out in the open all day trying to catch as much sun as possible. If the temperature drops under 13*c they go under ground.

  • Hahaha!! ;)

  • Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I had a great time filming them!

They realy are facinating creatures ;)
