I have not listened to Evanescence for, I even dare say, several years now, but today I was very depressed, and the first song I typed into the search bar was this one. I'm not Christian and have never in any way felt that this was a christian song - all I felt was that it has been able to fix me, if that makes any sense, wiht its beauty. Undoubtedly its an amazing song.
this song, while it is gorgeous, i find it hard to listen to. it seems like it is about christianity and last summer i went to a Christian camp and i learned about God for an entire week. When I came home i spent almost another whole week on the verge of tears because I believed the camp when they said that everyone is a child of God. I just felt so guilty because I didnt believe everything they said and I thought that made me a bad person. :'(

And Amy Lee is christian but the band itself isn't a christianity band - personally I don't feel it is about God, I feel it's about a real person (sorry for those who believe in god - I am not trying to demean your beliefs - just to explain mine.). The beauty is that we all do, and I love how open the lyrics are saying that she DOES make mistakes, but wants to reconnect. This song is an acoustic sung in an actual church in Little Rock Arkansas. The people you hear in the background are the church worship band. X

@mrsthirdday It's not really an abology letter God. I understand that you would think that but you have to realize that was Ben Moody's thing. She even says in interviews that shes not a christain band. This is about being in love and being so consumed by it you give up everything to be with that person, or at least in my opinon that is. But eh, who knows? I could be right, I could be wrong.
