  • Either that guitar is kinda small or Johnny Cash must truly have been a big man. I know from fact he was 6 foot 1 and a half inches tall, but although he is rail thin here from the amphetamines and starvation he looks big (big as in big-boned).

  • @Spyflugan91 Hahaha, he's not a giant, I swear! I think it's just a small guitar lol

  • @huntinsarah1 hahah okey :P

  • Looks like my dad.

  • He sounds great, but looks like crap. Luckily he quit on the pills and booze later with Gods help.

  • @MrCashlover so how did god help him? i thought it was his family and friends who helped him but yea i guess the wind had god in it lol

  • I heard this on the radio today and it just cracks me up! Love Johnny and can appreciate the song.

  • god you guys are stupid. he was just younger there.

  • yup yup yup jr looks like shit on this lol super pills and booze dam maan lol he did keep his eyes WIRED open all the time lol thank for jr an june god see ya when i get there whhoooo

  • He looks ok to me. This is a song to cut up to and have fun with. Looks like that's what he's doing.

  • dam drugs made him loose a lot of weight. Thank god, he made it out. Genius. Love

  • He doesn't have makeup on. The other videos from around this time, he most likely wears stage makeup.

  • el eterno Johnny Cash el tipo ke tenia mas actitud ke cualkier rokero sobre la tierra

  • this video is from the The Long Black Vial

  • In this video he looks kind of like my uncle does look now 0o

  • violão tão pequeno...

  • GENIAL!!!!!

  • He`s nothing but skin and bones here. Looks bad. He`s young here ,but looks old. I`am not sure what year this is, but it`s amazing how in the late 60 s and early 70s he looks younger an waaay better. He was off the drugs, for the most part) and June had pulled him out of hell.

  • i think he was in drugs there

  • you know i was just thinking--even mid-50's Johnny Cash looks old. prob came out the womb lookin like an old man. he looks gaunt and unhealthy here, lot of amphetamines no doubt, but i dunno bout looking younger later. he just looks softer with more wrinkles

  • rip but u can hes a druggy there

  • This song is so profound. One of my favorite of many Johnny Cash songs.

  • I think he was just being silly when he crossed his legs. Just trying to make people laugh, plus he was pretty lit up. Does anyone know who wrote this song??

  • "the one in the rear burned his driver's licence"

  • He kind of looks like Abraham Lincoln in this video lol.

  • wow. quite the graceful leg cross at the end of of the first verse. Definitely not judgin' , just sayin' It can be a very rough world no matter what or who you might be and there is no shame in sayin' gotta start over.

  • I love him! R.I.P

  • Maybe he had atough time back then, there is something in his eyes that reminds me of mine when i look on em now in this harsh for me times in the mirror. Great singer he was

  • omg. now thats a dope face.

never seen it on him as bad as now.

    skinny basterd

    still awesome though

  • One of Johnny Cash's videos during this time.

  • i love u johnny ill see u when i get there

  • omg he looks really thin here.. Look at the cheeks! He looks way better when he plays at Folsom Prison in 1969.

  • He looks thin because this was during his "pill period". I have always been grateful that he got off of them because if he didn't we probably wouldn't have been able to have him around as long as we did.

  • see you in the other life Que buenas canciones creó JR

  • god up in heaven thank u so much for johnny cash

  • NOT LOOKING FOR A FIGHT

    BUT THE SONG IS FANTASTIC

I LISTENED TO THIS 35 YEARS AGO WITH MY MOM AND DAD IN ONTARIO CANADA // FRENCH RIVER //

CANADA , THE LYRICS ARE FANTASTIC

MAKING THE BAND 60s STYLE ///

  • Awesome quality of this video-where did you find it?

  • yea definitely peak of his drug abuse.. awesome performance tho.. showman all the way

  • lol you are an idiot. It kinda makes a sound like if you have a capo on the higher frets. More high sound.

  • whats up with the tiny guitar??

  • it has a different sound idiot.

  • that leg raise made me think he was singin bout his boyz not fittin right in his undies. lol, im just kidden!

  • kind of wierd with the leg movement huh...

  • Everyone, this song was not written by J.C. And this song has nothing to do with groups like the Dixie Chicks! Listen to the lyrics! He's singing about a band with various political leanings who don't get along. It is a play on words. This is not necessarily a political song. It sure as hell is not an anti-left song as some people think it is. Cash hung out with Dylan, and was anti-war.

  • Yes I agree he was tweaked for sure. But you know what? I would give Johnny Cash 5 stars just for belching. He had his war with his addiction but he won in the end. RIP Johnny. I will see you in heaven.

  • A Great song by a Great Country Legend!!!..R.I.P. Johnny Cash.

  • The Dixie Chicks, among others, should adhere to the advice in this song.

  • I LOVE Johnny Cash. This is one of my favorite songs by him. However I can't seem to find it on any CDs of his.

He looks very nervous, he keeps moving his legs a lot.

  • its on... "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash"

  • hey my pearl jam buddy... he should show this to eddie vedder...

  • well... i think like many others pj become jc fans at the time of his death... as noted by their covering of '25 minutes to go'... did you like this song?... i guess this is the only video of it on youtube... ? he is really tweeked here i think... anyways.. thanks for heeding my advice

  • im hate most country... but johnny cash is an icon and plus my grandfather dug him lol

not a bad song cheers 4 tellin me bout it

good message in this little ditty

  • Absolutely terrific video. What a story teller. The guy really new what he was doing!!

  • He was using drugs in this time of his life; around his 30's. I'm not kidding.

  • I know that this song is from the DVD "Road to Nashville," and I love this song!

  • one of my favorite CASH songs

  • sick man at the time. my favouret performer. the music of johnny cash and his spirit will live for a long long time. RIP

  • He looks really skinny there.

  • No one really knows how he started it, but he was fully addicted for the first time during a Canadian tour in the early 1960s.

  • who offerd him and why'she take it

  • This was the time where Johnny weighed only 140, which is bad since he was 6' 2". He would take speed and chase it with morphine. The movie "Walk The Line" didn't seem to show how deteriorated the drugs made him on the outside, bad stuff.

  • He looks much taller with that dinky guitar.

  • ok

  • He lifted his leg to make it over the microphone. That's obvious.

  • i no but were the others on drugs

  • Why'd he lift his legs? He was stoned! When he went to cross his legs, he brought it up just a bit too much. Dexterity and depth perception ain't quite there when you're blasted! With that, and though he's no longer with us, I still Love him & his music!

  • Why did he lift his legs

  • ther was sumfin about him when he was on drugs, that made his stage performance more fun to watch, his stage presence had a good feel to it, but whatever he did, was amazing.

  • Lmao wo0t go johnny Cash! i cant even left my leg up that high xD <3 R.I.P we all miss you . :'[
