  • I wish my parents would have thrown me straight into Music when I was a child. BUT no, they really aren't into it, nor did they have the money. I envy all Asians like this. XD

I wonder how three years has improved him.

This performance needs more control, and expression.

  • most of the flute players i have seen are asian why???

  • @nancy11616 Do you comment on every single video you see?

  • @nancy11616 The flute has its origins in Asia. XD

  • its a boy guys, the name of the song is The Girl From Ipenema

  • i didnt know real life had cheat codes...

  • Im only 11 and I know how to play it but this girl hot a carrer up ahead.....

  • @DREAMERSILVIA he's a boy not a girl

  • @ktbananaman No she's a girl. Double check the description :o)

  • @ktbananaman Oh wait. oops nvm he is a guy xD Sorry

  • So cute what kind of flute is that??

  • @awesome0226 It's an alto flute. I leave the rest for you to google.

  • ...naturally she's Asian.

  • i think its great

  • Aww adorable an amazing <3

  • I see great potential... your smile at the beginning was adoreable :) it made me smile

  • OAO MiRaClEs!!! ThIS KiD iS BeTeR ThAn sUm pRo FlOtIsTs! :oD Im PuTiNg tHiS iN My NeW ViDeO CaLeD ElIvAtOr sTuCk! >:o)

  • His tone is flawless! Omg! Longer phrases will come in due time once the lungs get stronger but great job.

  • At 7, i only start flute...

  • AMAZING!

  • Huge improvement on most of the vids we see on Youtube. Yeah, he could use some work on achieving longer phrases in one breath but that will all come with time. It's great that this is played with good intonation, nice secure tone and it's *music* not just notes. This piece has character, I'll take this over 100 pointless presentations of Flight of the Bumble Bee uploaded to make us all go "wow, so fast", this child has great potential.

  • sweet girl:)

  • loving the flute :P :-)

  • I want a curly top :L

  • Boo booooooo

  • not that good...needs to do longer phases without breathing... NEEDS MORE WORK!!!

  • Thats an odd flute u got there

  • @BlankedOutBlizzard @rockmusiclover105

THey make flutes like that for people who don't have long enough arms.........

  • the flute looks wierd.... mine isnt curvy like that

  • FAKE!!!!!

  • @flutelover1947 HOw ?

  • You're incredible! Keep it up, little man.

  • i see a new ron burgundy ;)

  • Siempre los chinos se destacan en todo!

  • My dad was trying to play this song on the alto sax, apparently it didn't turn out so well.XD But seriously, the Asians are always best at something.A friend of mine plays the clarinet and it sounds awesome(he's Korean,so he's obviously awesome).I wish I was Asian.

  • Amazing! Great intonation! Great tone quality! Great articulation! He's better than the flute players in my band class! And their all 12 or 13!

  • Alto flute is a weird instrument to start on...but he sounds good!

  • chapinha vc e fera continui e nunca desista

  • Holy mother of god. Age 7? I didn't even start clarinet until I was about 12 xD

  • @pyrobombs i didnt start playing flute until i was a freshman in high school :/

  • @Topqueen33 the mouth piece is like that because he is really young and has smaller arms, which probably can't reach (comfortably) the keys right

  • no offense but thats the kind of beginner flutes!

but the good part is dis....

u dont need dat flute get an adukt one

  • @versha2000 hes seven ? what do you expect retard ? !

  • @jordana12098 no wut im sayin iz hes usin the beginner one but he deserves usin the adult one like for the 6th graders!

  • @versha2000 then whyd you say no offense ? xD

  • @jordana12098 idk ok? now i srry then!

  • @jordana12098 idk ok? now i srry then! hes rlly good iz all im tryin to say!!!!!!!

  • great job lillte boy :)

  • Awww! I remember having one of those headpieces, because it was too long with a normal one so i couldn't reach anything past the 5th key (normally E).

But he'll find it difficult after because the flute's in a different position with and without :\

  • i've never ever seen such a weird shaped mouthpeice ever. But he's got such a massive career ahead of him for flute playing. :')

  • Amazing performance for a seven year old!

  • awesum!!! Jobim would have been proud of you

  • theres also a nine year old girl who can play the flute under this account? and there both good.

  • u need to learn how to breath like at the breath maks

  • @hi1234835 and you need to learn how to spell

  • Can you please stop freaking putting up theror age Jesus Christ it's so annoying!

  • I hate to be racist, but a lot of the flute vids have been like 8 year old asains. I mean their amazing, but it seems a little odd that they pick up something like this so easily

    0_o

  • @xNWxgAmEr I hate to be an a-hole, but learn to spell before you start stereotyping people. They don't just "pick it up" they probably practice more in a day than you have in your entire life. 0_o

  • Thats amazing at such an age!!! :D

  • tesoro, sei un bamibino bravissimo!! auguri e continua a suonare questo strumento bellissimo!!

  • Awesome Job!!!!!! My jazz band played this all the time last year, and he sounds almost as good as them. I really hopes he continues to play.

  • He is very cute and played well.

  • aww he has a wittle kiddy sized flute. :]

  • BRAVO!

  • tehe i can't stop looking at the funny head joint!! (as in a flute head joint)

  • i like his bass flute..... or whatever u guys wanna call it. to me i think the bass flute r suppose to be bigger, but idk it can be a tenor or a bass one of those. i play the flute so i kn o what they r

  • @girlfriend2450

Hey! It's just a normal flute only for little children, to let the flute sound equal to a normal flute they made him this way and not smaller... :)

  • @girlfriend2450 a bazz flute is waay bigger lol

  • @girlfriend2450 it's a normal flute, just bent for easy reach. the bend of a bass is much longer. the sound is also too high to be a bass flute.

  • Pure Talent.

  • INCRIVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man! Bravo little guy bravo. You are amazing!

  • u are awsome man

  • I was wondering why the sound was around the same range of my flute. He's so good!!! :D

  • Amazing hes gonna be a famous flute player if he sticks with that Great Job kid!

  • @gostreaper5 "he" is a girl hahahah

  • Not bad at all. If I have to critique though I would say that he need work on the timing. And that say's a lot for a 7 year old!

  • This is GREAT!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Bravo! I can tell you really love to play and you are very musical!

  • Nevermind it's just meant to be compact.

  • It's not a freakin BASS FLUTE!! It's a regular flute just with a curved head joint!! Can be for children or for marching!!

  • sinistro, muleque bom!!!

  • That's the most awesome flute I've ever seen.

  • that's a small bass flute lol

  • definitely a classic jazz song (and i absolutely love the song you should check out the version by Stan Getz) however, played in this fashion it is hardly jazz. definitely cool to see young children picking up an instrument (i wish i had my sax at his age) but its not really jazz w/o improvisation or at least a little swing

  • Awesome! Haha remember to keep your left pinkie above the flute though haha

  • their father must beat them like a mule because his sister is 8 and can play flight of the bumble bee on flute

  • @BenjaminLOfficial multiple martial arts? there could be tae kwon do, karate, 醉马骝(drunken monkey) ju juitsu... you should be more specific, or other people might not believe you(cough cough) and a 14 in Berklee? possible, but you have to be freaking amazing, and extremely mature, which isn't likely, considering the fact that your arguing over something stupid on youtube. and telling someone that your life is better than theirs will ever be? wow, that's low. and your original comment was racist.

  • @BenjaminLOfficial btw maybe that girl likes playing the flute so she works hard! unlike u fat lazy pig!

  • @BenjaminLOfficial not all asians r like that so shut up!

  • What king of flute is that? why is the mouth piece all the way over there?!?!?

  • @iPenguin5684 Well it could be two things. One she's small so its a piece added so her mouth can reach the tone hole or Two its a bass flute.... which i doubt.

  • @iPenguin5684 its a curved headjoint children's flute. The mouthpeice is ment to be that way.It helps smaller or younger kids play the flute without straining their arms

  • Jazz flute???? Lets hear some improvisation.

  • @Usersname1983

dude give the kid a break, hes seven !!

  • @wfbone My comment really has nothing to do with the kid nor is his age even relevant. I was merely commenting on the label someone decided to give him. Simply playing a popular song doesn’t mean he’s playing jazz. To label him as a “jazz flute player” is not only incorrect, it’s misleading.

  • @wfbone

Dude, he was playing a jazz song..... not improvisation....

  • such a cute kid, and talented! nice job!

  • he's play very well.

and have only 7 year old..

    this music is from brazil?

  • for everyone who's asking why is the flute shaped like this, the answers is: its a flute built for early starters because they have little arms that are too short to reach to the end of a normal flute, not this flute, but bass flute are shaped similarly......and this little dude plays beautifully :) BRAAVOOOO

  • he is oonly 7.? im 12 nd if i tried to play that i wouldn't be as half as good

  • It's the type of flue, it has nothing to do with his age. It's called a Bass flute. Longer the instrument, the lower the sound, the curve makes it longer, thus lower.

  • @PiDraegon Although you make an excellent point about flute types, I do not believe that that is a bass flute. I may be wrong but it does not look as big as it should be and the range in which he plays sounds like flute to me.

  • @PiDraegon Harder to play, isn't it? For the more advanced?

  • my frist time seeing a flutes mouth peice shaped like that O.O

  • @Topqueen33

I see it all the time. It's a curved headjoint for the children who have a hard time reaching their keys.

  • @Topqueen33 its a bass flute

  • @Liru1Wolfie

It's not a bass flute. it would be lower if it was. It's a flute with a curved headjoint. It's made for children who can't reach the keys.

  • @Topqueen33

    It's called an alto flute.

  • @apc1no

    No it's not;

it's just a C flute with a curved head joint.

  • @Rexicano Really? My mistake, but is it really necessary to curve it?

  • @apc1no

    Think about it;

he's a small kid and makes it easier.

  • @Topqueen33 It's because it's an alto flute.

  • @Topqueen33 Jazz flute.

  • @DesQueJteVois ?? I thought those headjoints are for little kids with short arms...

  • @Topqueen33 Is for younger kids so they can reach the buttons and still blow in the mouth peice, it just shortens the reach

  • @Topqueen33 It's a practice mouth piece. =]

  • @Topqueen33 its a bass flute

  • @becafuentes Actually it's not a bass flute. Bass flutes look similar to that, but they have a lower sound and our longer. The reason his head joint is curved is because off his young age and short arms. Most children who start of early on the flute used a curved head joint :)

  • @Topqueen33 its shaped like that for little kids who cant reach their arms that long, usually when you get older when you grow you'll use the regular mouthpiece

  • @Topqueen33 i used to have one like that so i could reach the end of the flute :)

  • @Topqueen33 Bass flutes are shaped like that too.

  • @Topqueen33 It looks like an ergonomic flute.

  • @Topqueen33 It's probably so he can reach all of the keys:)

  • @Topqueen33 It might be a bass flute? Im not sure.

  • @AbbyxBaby @topqueen33 naw, its mouthpiece is curved to let his cute little arms reach the keys :P

  • @Topqueen33 flutes don't have mouthpieces

  • @dontevenstartme yes they do. hahah.

its just not exactly a "mouthpiece"

its connected to it and therefor they call it a mouth piece. you put your mouth on the piece.

    go figure. -.-

  • @Ezpopp It's connected to it and therefore they call it a mouthpiece? 1) The foot joint is connected to it. The foot joint is not called the mouthpiece. 2) Who are "they" that you mention? A flute consists of the head joint, the body and the foot joint. A mouthpiece is something that goes IN your mouth (as with a clarinet) or ON your mouth (as with a trumpet). With a flute, you do NOT put your mouth on anything. You rest the lip plate on your lower lip. Seriously. Curved mouthpiece?

  • awww he is so cute and adorable. He is very talented. He is better than me and I am 12

  • @WiimusicGirl I'm also 12 and can play at the same level as hi,.but by the time HE reaches twelve,he'll probably be better than both of us. That's why there's the term "Practice,Practice,Practice!"

  • Nice playing and nice arrangement!!

  • sheet music?

  • anyone have sheet music for this?

  • what the heck is that??? iv never seen a flute like that before??

  • @REDeyedTREEfrog55

For smaller kids (or for bigger flutes on regular sized people, some flutes have a bent head joint. It doesn't affect the tuning...just makes it easier to reach!

  • that insturment looks like a bent flute!

  • @akwak452 it is a bent flute, it's made for children because they are too little to play a normal seized flute

  • awww and wow hes better than me.. i guess i got like a rlly long way to go...

  • Nice! Is he still playing? If so,I'd like to hear him now. Thanks,Flutist Walter Bell

  • Beautiful

  • kid got skillz on the technical side. breathing and phrasing takes more time and feeling and soul is the last ingredient that most technically correct players lack.

  • This shows that if you think your good at something a asian can do better

  • G R E A T !

  • haha, that flute has a bent headjoint! that's so cool!

    i play the flute too!

does the different headjoint make it sound different?

  • @UniqueCandle its not a flute its a piccolo

  • @Rockstarsinger59 dude its a flute..i play flute and piccolo, and that is a flute.. i have been playing for 7 years, and that is definatly a flute. piccolo is a mini flute, that is alot smaller and has a higher pitch than a flute.

  • @musicfreak556 oh i dont know much about a piccolo so ya thanks for telling me : )

  • @Rockstarsinger59 its cool, do you play the flute? just out of curiousity :)

  • @musicfreak556 ya umm for three years now and i hav been in honor band which is a concert of the best 6th grade band, string, and choir in my town ya thats all ive done really in music

  • @Rockstarsinger59 oh cool, you probably have a better band there than we do here :) ours is pretty dodgey, but meh what ya gonna do about it.

  • @musicfreak556 ya i bet to sum up our lives were just two band geeks lol

  • @Rockstarsinger59 haha yup pretty much, my life revolves around music, no music no life lol :)

  • @UniqueCandle no its just bent because he is young and cant fully reach the keys without a bent headjoint, it doesnt affect the quality or the sound of the flute.

  • @musicfreak556 its an alto flute

  • @sarahsituations its NOT an alto flute. It's a soprano flute with bent head joint to allow children players with smaller stature to play properly!

  • Teach Me...!!!! Exellent

  • fucken GET INTO IT YEEEAH

  • how come he has the curvy thing still

  • IDOLO!!! MAESTRO!!! en unos años lo quiero ver en el Montreal Jazz Festival!!

  • omg! he plays better than me! and im 14! amaing (: surely knock me out of my band placement

  • lol he takes huge breaths its funny

  • ...A song I know as a Morris dance from Gypsy Girls...being played on my instrument (well, a variation)...by a 7-year-old. Whoa. Surreality overload.

AWESOME job, by the way, kid.

  • if i read again the "word" cute i cut myself. He's f**king good!!

  • omg he is soo good at playing the flute i dont play the flute but i do play the clarinet

  • o.m.g. age 7???????? More like 27!
