Gosh, I can totally relate on the trouble with knowing your right hand and left hand.
I went through that problem as well.
My method though was different,
in elementary school we always had to do the "Pledge of Allegiance" and well our teacher would begin
"Put your right hand over your heart"
and thats how I would start knowing my left from my right hehe.
Also the present your best friends gave you is really cute!
