Even though this book (and movie) was so historically inaccurate I enjoyed it. Beautiful tribute; the best one I've seen from The Other Boleyn Girl. :)
She is being executed because her husband King Henry VIII wanted to marry woman named Jane Seymour and because she did not give him a son, but a daughter. Because of this the King's men made up false allegations that she commited incest and adultry so she was put to death.
Please if your only going to judge Anne on the media basis, watch another interpretation of her life in season 1 and 2 of 'The Tudors'.
I feel as if this movie (which was based on a book by Phillipa Gregory) cast a dark light on Annes life, pointing out only the bad things she did. What I love about Anne is that she was neither a saint or a sinner, and she didnt have a problem with that.
Also please know that this movie is fictional and shouldn't be used to draw on your opinion of someone.
Although I LOVE Natalie portman in this, this mopvie is completely inaccurate. Anyone that has a bad opinion of Anne Boleyn on the basis of this movie, is dead wrong. (btw, going by age and histroy, they said Mary should actually be the older one) I also wonder why people rip Anne Boleyn's name to shreds, and leave Henry whole. All of those accusations of incest, withcraft, false. Henry was looking for an excuse. Plus, if one part of it was true, what kind of sister would Mary be to rat her out?
Divorced beheaded died.Divorced beheaded survived! When Hollywood gets hold of a story! What is it that's said? Oh yes that's it,'never let the facts get in the way of a good story'! And it's quite strange that although she was meant to be a whore & a schemer & all the rest of it,Henry STILL had to concoct all the charges against her in order to make exceution the only option!
Anne Boleyn was a bewitched whore, in Katherine of Aragon's words. If she was such a brave and strong woman why did she wail all the time? All her plans backfired. The predecessor to home-wrecker. Even the Queen of France Mary Tudor, Henry's younger sister, didn't like Anne Boleyn and supported Katherine of Aragon.
In the end out of all of Henry's wives I think Katherine was the only one that truly loved him and the only one that was not executed.
The execution did not happened the way presented.. the executioner find it very hard to execute her so he distracted Anne telling her "where is the sword" so she can look away when he cuts her neck.. i read on wikipedia.. according to books and witnesses that been there that day
@xCelticWoman Yeah she was supposedly joyed to go to death also, to have all of her suffering over, that was documented too. Here they showed her scared to death, but I guess that's just for the tear jerker effect. anyway, yeah this movie is great, really underrated.
@xCelticWoman who knows though really... He might have unfortunately. If he was capable of all the other horrible things he did I wouldn't put it past him at all.

@ryanhhcheung I recognise she wasn't a saint ..BUT it wasn't her fault and I am tired of people blaming her as regards Henry's separation from COA.Henry Had stopped visiting The Queen's bedchamber before his fall for Boleyn. Also Henry never chose to marry Catherine he had to!I do not say that he didn't love her at all,but I think he felt for the first time the feeling of being in love with Anne. Now as you say about princess Mary I ''hate'' Anne for treating her badly but again I have to re
@QueenAnneBoleyn1536 * to remind that Anne wanted to reconsile with Mary while Mary did not want her as Queen which is COMPLETELY logical..I wouldn;t to if my mother was pushed away...I just believe that Henry Loved Anne a lot but his histeric obsession for a male heir won him!
Well look at it this way, King Henry didn't get a male heir like he wanted, he did get a son, but Edward only ruled for a little while, but got something way better a daughter named Elizabeth and he wouldn't notice. Men of that age...
Natalie Portman's so beautiful
