I do not know how these tractors need so much time that I have inflammation in Bosnia, and each tractor when it fell not so much that has not fallen as, for example IMT 539 from the first burst was how cold it will work
@fireballfury1 Yeah they are. I got my heater plug working and now it starts great in any weather. I've only had one problem with this tractor and it was the hydraulic damper on the ip. It was like ten bucks to replace and other than that its been perfect.
Is this a UTB350 from the Brasov tractor plant? I had a 650 with 4x4.. they are nearly un-destroyable!! Romania still exports them, mostly to Africa..(Egypt) they love them to.
Haha piss on starters. I know I should stop but frankly on this tractor I don't give a darn. And yeah generally the starter time is around 30 seconds. It starts better since I cleaned it up and redid the start assist.
If I'm correct, on this model and similar ones, to the right is high power to the Thermo Start, half way to the left is low power to the Thermo Start, and all the way to the left engages the starter, and 350's don't have glow plugs, only a Thermo Start plug which heats up diesel and air in the intake manifold which is sucked into the engine, I'm not familiar with the 310.
Well this was right after I got it, it had no start assist at all, now it had working Thermo-Start and a block heater. Its getting cooler and cooler so I'll figure out how much they help pretty soon.
I think shorter start trials with heating between would make it to start faster, and it's nicer for the starter also.
Nice tractor though, like this prety modern tractors without cabin. Where i'm from, any tractor that was used by an employed person had to have some kind of cabin or protection cage. So all tractors since 1959 have differnet kinds of ugly cabins.
If you look at my newest cold start of this tractor you'll see it starts alot faster. 2008 was the first winter I had it, and since then I've cleaned and rewired the thermo start and it works tons better. Thanks. Yeah those old thrown together cabs could be pretty ugly. Since this video I've put a big canopy on it, for sun and rain.
all this going green shit is ridiculious, we cant control the climate, if you ask any REAL scientist he will tell you that too. It's just gettin a little hotter cuz the worlds magnetic poles are shifting again, thats all.
Yeah, its a very nice tractor. I was a little leary about buying it at first because there aren't many UTB's around here but I got it and it is a very well built, dependable tractor
yes sir thats why i dont know much about glow plugs, intake heaters or head heaters because deere only used ether in their tractors and it works jsut dont use too much haha
Cool, i'm a John Deere man my self, I just don't have enough green to get a Green right now haha. But at work I use a 4240, my boss just got like a 5450 I think? Brand new nice tractor, got a wet clutch so you drive it like a semi almost, a 50's model JD we don't get out that much, and old faithful, my personal favorite, the good ol 4430 with rear duals and the quad range trans
yea your too new for me i run with the older tractors my self like the 10 and 20 series from the 60's to the mid 70's my 2 favorites are teh 4320 and teh 6030 but i had to sell my 3 6030's because grain prices went down and i couldnt make payments on fertilizer and it killed me to part with my rare NA 6030 and the 2 turbo ones but i still got my 4320 and 8630 and im not giving those up NEVER!
Haha. My rules are 60's cars, 70's trucks, and any tractor that runs and is dependable. But I wouldn't buy any tractor newer than mid 80's. 40's are my favorites, but you can't get as much work done with a 4 cyl gasoline engine as you can a 6 cylinder turbo diesel haha.
your darn right i got a 85 GMC and thats as new as im going and as for tractors yea them 4 cylinders worked in their day but now they cant keep up like the 6 cylinders
Yeah. I'll stick to my 78 Ford Truck and 66 Ford car and they're good enough for me. Gonna drive'em till I die, even if they ban pre 90 model vehicles because of emissions. You aren't gettin me out of mine. Newer vehicles just can't do what the old ones could. And I'm keepin my guns when and if they ban them too, and they'll help me keep my cars
Yeah. And we'd win. I mean heck the new cars are plastic pretty much. I know on my car and most older cars and trucks and tractors all there missing to be tanks is tracks and a turret
yes we would i walked in front of my moms 2007 minivan and i leaned on it and broke the entire front bumper when it was - 35 C outside after that i knew i had to get my hands on a truck with a real bumper and real parts no plastic no electronics the most electronic part on my truck is the radio everything else is mechanical
I got it in Dec 07 in very poor condition. I did a partial rebuild on the engine and it runs great. Takes a while to start in the cold but it never fails to start. Just painted it a few weeks ago. I think I have all the details in the slideshow of it's restoration.

put a 3 or 4 inch straight pipe with a flapper

That'd sound pretty mean. I'm good with the muffler for now, when I need a new one I'll straight pipe it up to the top of my canopy. Thanks!

Stop after 5 seconds dude.
Nice Tractor.

On my 310 the glow plugs are warmed up by turning the start switch to the left halfway, not to the right. Did Long change this in your model??

that switch that you held with your thumb a glow plugs switch?
6030diesel 2 years ago
Yes. They were of utb's own design and they called it thermostart. It doesn't work as good as it should so I hold it longer than your suppose to
AOO08DOYOUHEAR 2 years ago
ok is it glow plugs in the engine or intake grid heaters?
6030diesel 2 years ago
Its not actually glow plugs in the engine its a small heater plug on top of the engine block
AOO08DOYOUHEAR 2 years ago
so it kinda warms the head up for starting?
6030diesel 2 years ago
Yeah. It helps a little, but not much. So looks like your pretty much a Green Power man huh? Like to stick with John Deere
