Good guess. Running around 1500 RPMs. My nephew check it later with an electronic tach and it was running 1550 RPMs. Turn up the volume and hold the speakers up to you ears for the full effect.
Ah, I was think that might be a fuel pump, but there were some changes to the Detroit fuel system over the years. The real sweet spot for Detroits is between 1900 and 2100 rpms, much higher and things start wearing out.
What's that blue line leading to the front of the engine? That a compressed air supply? Also sounds like you're running that Detroit right up against the governor like you should.
That's the fuel supply line. In one of the later clips you can see 2 lines running down the bank, one supply and one return. I want to put a laser tach to it this week just for curiosity, I think it might have some room yet for even more rpms.

Detroits love veggie oil.
They burn very clean.
The only problem is carbon deposits on the intake ports over time.
If it gets too bad you will not be able to pull the sleeves out for rebuilding.
Also carbon deposits on the rings can get the rings stuck.
Always use 20% Lucas Pure Syntatic oil stabilazers in the engine oil to prevent carbon deposits!!!

Thank you. I thought, here in Argentina we have gensets powered by Detroit Diesel 6-71 and 6-110 at 1500 RPM and run to generate 380/220V at 50Hz
