I understand re-entry culture shock. Imagine spending years in Montreal and then going back home to a small town in Minnesota, USA, for a while. It's crazy how different it is...and I never even left the continent.

I made sure to bring every last thing with me when I packed up from hotel room back in May ... but how was I to know that Japan would've kept my heart? (God, that sounds corny ... but it's true).
art school yay! that sounds amazing im in an art high school at the moment and i went to an art middle school too! no joke and i wanna go to an art college so id love to see ur college vids! have fun!

For the past month I've been on my own study abroad in Nagoya and Tokyo. I've been going through culture shock here and your videos helped me recognize it and adjust more quickly.

It's really weird going back somewhere after being away...especially when nothing changes while you're gone and you've been somewhere as different as Japan.
It was very strange when I came back to my home after being in the NAVY. You will feel "normal" after about a month or two. And hey! I'm from Texas too. :D
awww im gonna have to switch a lot too i feel ya, i've been to two different elementary schools, middle school then off to high school where none of my friends are going, then, in my second year (junior) i'm going to japan, then i'm coming BACK for senior year, and by then i probably wont know anyone...
Just from your videos, I can see a clear difference between the Kat from Video #1 and the last videos...new experiences can have an amazing impact on anyone's life
Aw, welcome back to the U.S.! It must be a big reverse culture shock, especially being in such a big city. I've been thinking about any reverse culture shock I might have, because I know my hometown is very different, even from more rural places in Japan.
yea when all the japanese videos are done i`ll still keep watching. Most people proabably did subscribe to you for awesome japan stuff but will keep watching even after that is finished because of your cool personality that makes your vlogs easy to watch ^_^

It's pretty hard to foresee how the re-entry culture shock will hit you, but it was definitely weird coming back after one year in Japan. Among other stuff, I really miss the trains, the politeness and the Japanese food...

Damn you seem depressed. Cheer up girl, don't let that bring you down. Life is a constant change. Maybe your parents, your friends and everything there didn't change, but at least you did, Right? Besides you can always return to Japan, and even if you make and effort you can always end up living there, who knows!!
