Wow this is the first time I have ever herd of them doing cochlear implants. I had no idea! What a special time for this adorable little girl and her family. Its a blessing thank you lord.
I love how her face lights up at :20. She looks so excited to be hearing. My dad has had a a cochlear implant since 91 and it has made such a HUGE difference in his life. I hope Abigail is doing well with her implant!
just came across your video's so happy to see she is doing so well, when my son was 3 he was deaf and had no hearing for 3 years, then it came back no one knows why he is also autistic. he is 19 now and talks pretty well and hears great sometimes lol u know teenagers.
First off, both your children are ADORABLE! They made my heart melt! Second, did the younger son just say his first words, "Thank you"? If that's the case then this must have been the most memorable day of your life! <3

@zeldalikelink6 What exactly do you mean by 'deaf'? You cannot mean that he wasn't able to hear anything at all. Because if that's what you read, then the books lied to you.
Bethoven was born in 1770 and only began to lose his hearing around 1796, that means his ears worked well enough until he was around 26.
Were both of your children born with hearing disability?
I was just wondering if this is something that is hereditary, or what would be the case of having two children with the inability to hear. Either way, amazing video, its always nice to see humanity progressing forward instead of backwards for once.
One can't wait for a day when we are able to fully repair blind people's vision.
@NeutralExistence It has been a confusing journey. No one else in our family has hearing loss. Both children, however, were found to be carriers of a deaf gene called connexin 26, but usually being a carrier doesn't make you have the condition you are carrying. We will have our older two children tested to see if they carry the gene too, but they do not have hearing loss..
Here is some info I found that seems to explain how the connexin 26 gene causes deafness.
""
Everyone has two copies of this gene, but if each birth parent has a flawed copy of the GJB2/Connexin 26 gene, the baby may be born with a hearing loss. The hearing loss occurs because the mutation is suspected of disrupting potassium flow in the inner ear.

Certainly an interesting thing, I didn't expect that proteins such as potassium played such a vital role in our hearing.
