yes, buy these expensive toys and ensure they continue to put outrageous prices on them. Its not worth more than 40 bucks, ITS A TOY RAYGUN< call it what ever you want.

Nice looking prop when they worked, now and several years many of these have failed and show up on eBay.. The design overall was good, but the electronics overall were done cheap and with the copper locking power pack handles (copper is a soft material) these units a bending at the overall weight of the phaser alone. After several years, my unit is now just a static prop (no longer working) and very sad considering these units sold for $500.00 and now on eBay for 1000.00 - but most of them no

This appears to be a season one phaser.

Season two phasers were grey in color.

Good TOS Phaser and it looks like mint shape. Thanks for pointing out the nozzle on the Phaser because some (including mine) where glued to the emitter inside the gun and many (not mine) where destroyed because the connection wires would turn when you turned the emitter unit. So when checking yours about this feature please turn very slowly the first time and if you feel resistence STOP turning fast because that is wirings turning around which is causing that!

Pretty lame given tech these days .. it could have easily fired a green or blue ray ..

I saw a video where this converted with a $45. blu - ray laser. The green lasrers can be had for less.

No you never...you saw a video where they converted a Diamond Select plastic toy phaser, no one would spoil a Master Replica like that as it would lower the value. Putting a Blu-ray laser in a $30 toy is another story, and good fun to play with, but this is all about attention to detail...and it is far from lame. Next to a HMS or scratch built masterpiece from one of the 'therpf' forum guys, who make beautiful phasers, this is as close as you will get to the real prop.
