Macedonians were ethnically a Greek tribe, that is, Macedonians were genetically the same as the other tribes of Southern Greece. A more suitable comparison between Macedonians and Athenians, for example could be between the Cornish and Welsh. Both Cornish and Welsh are Brythonic Celts both speaking the Brythonic Celtic language.

There is thus a difference between FYRM's and Greeks. Their haplogroups are Serbian I2a2, and the latest DNA evidence on FYROM states that FYROM's population are the same people as Serbs and Bulgarians.Also they speak west Bulgarian, that is Bulgarian with Serb words added. Your country called 'Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia' is mistakenly called Macedonia, it was never Macedonia it was called ancient Paeonia.
