MSN UK did a "did you know" trivia piece on; where the Goonies are now, and as I watched their slide show going through each and every character, I was amazed and bemused to see that they missed the most integral character, Data Wang, the greatest character in the world, i remember as a young boy, wanting to be so much like him, amazed with all his gadgets, tried to even recreate some of them to my parents dismay. Thank you very much for providing me with such a great insight in being a Goonie.

It's funny what he said about them talking over each other, when watching the movie I always thought it made them seam far more real. Comeing from a large family I always thought it stranfe when watching a family film where the kids took turns talking, like when does that happen in real life? I Love the Goonies, Data was my favorite character!

Great interview. I liked the ending where they shook hands and the camera froze and zoomed in while having that sepia effect, it was heart warming. I grow up watching this movie over 100 times and now my own kids are doing the same. The whole entire cast was amazing and it was interesting to hear what jonathan Ke Quan has been doing since then. @al28283 Depends on the script , the cast and the way all that magic is brought to screen. BUT (one big *but*): I would make only limited use of CG !!! Dear Directors I've kind of hated Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull over the fact of CG use, it was unlike that 'authentic', traditional special effects from the eighties. IF they don't overdo it on the effects plus good dialogue, actor's choice, thrilling score and camera work, "retro-fitting' with old-style action and humor... why not?

As far as I know, the DATA backpack is in the Astoria Jail (now a film museum). We visited there (we live in Southern Oregon and Astoria is the northern tip of Oregon) last week with friends from england (civiliansnowman).

My favorite of all The Goonies. His inventions were too inspiring as a young child and having created so many weird things when I was young. I remember hammering some wood to my skateboard adding "wings" thinking I could fly as I sped down the hill in my old neighborhood.
