I never understood that line. The game goes out of its way to mention again and again and again that Saladin has a sword. That he's going to run Alexander through "with his sword". Etc.
I get it, people. HE HAS A SWORD! I didn't think he was going to run Alexander through with a wooden spoon.
(Although that being said, this game absolutely rocks, and I'm glad you uploaded it) :)
Something has been bothering me. Since it was the genie who was standing beside what's-his-face wizir during the ceremony does that mean that Alhazred is really married to the genie? There's food for thought.
After he would have gotten the crown, the genie would simply change back after the real Cassima had been killed. Being king, he wouldn't have been bound by any contract, cause he'd have complete control. It was all just staged; doing whatever it takes, to get what he wants.
@Phanto5692 I'd be willing to give the Genie a pass on that; after all, a Genie has to do what his master says. But, if I was guarding Alhazred's cell, I'd never let him hear the end of it.
What happened to the dog that was ascending the stairs? And Alexander didn't really need to show Saladin Cassima's note to him since he already knew Alex and Cassima were friends.
1. It's a computer game. It only does as it's programmed; it doesn't take into account any actual "dog" that has a real need to ascend the stairs and enter the next room. The game's memory just forgets all about it once you enter the hall.
2. Just showing extra dialog for curiosity's sake. Cassima's note isn't part of the solution; in fact, making contact with Cassima via the nightingale at all is entirely optional.
I have been looking for this enhanced version! When I was a kid, I remember playing the CD version. I do recall the smoother, more detailed character pictures. When I saw playthroughs of this game elsewhere on YouTube, I only saw the older version that featured the character closeups in 256 colors.
I always thought it was kind of weird of all the places he COULD go, he couldn't go up those staircases.

For someone who supposedly is utterly loyal to Cassima you'd think Saladin would remember that she dosen't have glowing yellow eyes.

when I first played this I always thought the head guard dog was female for some reason

@drewpamon I guess because he's a collie like Lassie and, if you'll forgive me, is a somewhat 'feminine' looking animal.

the sound when the guard dogs come around the corner scares me to death.

That's an awesome remix of "Here Comes the Bride" considering it's basically a MIDI.

@jsh357 Agreed. And it's so, so effective for setting the mood of the action at that point.

I had no idea about that looking through the keyhole bit. That was interesting.

at least if alhazred's the type, he might not be wanting for any type of role-play 'married' to a shape-changing genie, if you get my drift

@KiOwA25
He obviously wanted it, cause he planned it himself.

Was he really just going to run poor Alexander through right there? Rather bad taste at a wedding.

Yes, I get all that but still(I tend to nitpick).
