Actually I do play music and its not usually on the fly. When you learn a cover song you actually learn the cover song. The lyrics are more simple then the instrumentals.

He may have just learned the song that night. But I do get what you're trying to say, when I go out to play covers, if I don't remember the lyrics or music, I just won't play it until I do. I just go into this song last week and I'll be damned if its not one of the most touching songs in recorded history. Gonna go see "the lips" for the first time this weekend. I'm stoked about it.
