Well thats good. DX9 means DirectX9. Some graphics card choke/lags if they are playing games at directx10 such as crysis, far cry 2 and need for speed pro street. Running games at DX10 though, the graphics are much better but there is a drop at the frame rate. You run games at dx9 by right clicking the shortcut, choose properties and add "-DX9" at the end of the target.

Example: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed ProStreet\nfs.exe" -DX9

If you want to run the game in DX10, you probably don't have to add that command. I mean its already automatic if your video card is DX10 compliant. If your video card is DX10 compliant, games that support DX10 is set to that already.

And added to that, you need to have a space in between the target line and the "-DX10" command.

Example: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2" -DX10

OC ur processor to 3ghz and put in a worthwhile vid card. Then you can bump up your settings. You'll see a HUGE improvement for cheap.

lol i have an athlon 2400+. A Nvidia fx5200(sucks ass for shades and lags a lot!) 1 gig of ram @2.1ghz. It runs 5 frames per second. an the sound is very delayed. I just need a better video card to play the demo:)

yeah, it should run if youv'e got 2gb ram. The graphics might let you down, but i really don't know its performance very well. the cpu may be a problem aswell, as it is dependent on whether it is hyperthreading (dual-core that isn't) or just the old P4. I'd try it, because it will run

The ATI Radeon x850 is a superb card... it beats some of the X1k series, it is a very good card...

2gig of ram, well, ram is typically used for storig live memory... so 2 gig is good enough for ANY game... except something like crysis...

erm, your motherboard should be ok... im runin an AMD sempron 1.7ghz... urs can't be much worse than tht lol
