  • Hello Glenn, When you recoard your videos do you play through guitar amps or are you plugged into a PA?

  • @najer1 I alsways record direct to computer weather I am using an amp & cab with a mic or running direct like in this video.

  • Hi Glenn! Did you gt-10 has some modules too weak and not sufficient to obtain such sounds without additional external effects such as VOX Satchurator, EQ, "Bad Monkey", etc?

  • @MrGUZIEC Oh no, I just had the extra space on my board so I out those up there. I am now using the Line65 in that spot.

  • God Damn you got this shit down.Check out Kenny Kanowski on youtube.Cheers

  • Hi glenn... Love your tutorial. I just the gt10... Love it. It's that tone i hear in my head! Question-i like certain patch in ez create(clean and fat gain). How to take that patch and paste it to create dual amp that change dynamicly?or do i have to create the patch manualy?

  • @MrZASWANAZRAI Create the EZ-Tone and save it to wherever you want it. Then press the Preamp button and there you can add another preamp B.

  • Nice work and thanks for showing us GT-10 owners some tips to program.

I wish there was a DVD to learn more about the GT-10.

Im going to checkout all your stuff patches etc.

  • IS THIS EASY??????

  • hey glenn!

thanks abillion for the tutorials! they're really great!

i wanted to ask how you have the gt-10 setup with your other pedals (badmonkey, EQ) ?

can you control them using the gt-10? for example using the cntrl1 pedal activating EQ etc?

thanks again for all your work!

  • @userpipe It might be possible to put a pedal in the FX loop and then assign the FX loop on/off to CTL1. But then every pedal in the loop would be turned on so it might be better to just put them all in the loop and turn them on or off one by one. That's how I have it connected.

  • @extremevideopro ahhh ok, so i can configure the specific extension pedal (od/ds) into the gt-10 loop

for eg. comp, preamp. [OD/DS] etc....

and i'd just control it manually? thanks again for the awesome vids! and tones! (coz i us ur tones!)

  • Hello Guys, how much this BOSS GT 10?

  • @Roneboy311 hey. you could actually do your research and LOOK IT UP

  • I wasnt one so bad! but Dame theres way to much going on in that pedal for me!! it sounds sweet!!

  • A+

  • Hi Glenn I really appreciate all your demos but have a ? Which would you prefer out of the Eleven Rack,Gt-10 and HD500.All the same price(no effects update yet for the 11R).I think all three seem good and your demo's on two of them are really cool but I read that some guys are starting to have probs with the HD500 crapping out and the GT-10 amp modelling is weak. Thanks :)

  • @CatDieselPwr Hey Kent, that's a tuff question man. I think they all have there place. I guess I'd go with the HD500 although I am using the GT-10 right now in my Marshall big rig. Simply because of the FX routing capabilities. I am using the for cable method.

  • Hi Glenn, just been wondering how these single pedals help? When u kick in the BM/Satchurator do you turn off/lower the drive on your GT10? If I loop in a Fulldrive MOSFET/suhr riot, would e gain be too high/very hard to clean up?

  • @SPeedYsingapore Yes when I would engage the Satchurator it would give me more gain. I just use it during solos to give me that added extra tone boost.

  • @extremevideopro Thanks a lot, really appreciate it as always. But again, under what kinda situation do u engage the Bad Monkey?

  • @SPeedYsingapore During the middle of a lead section I would kick it in to give me a little more gain during a solo.

  • are you using a thumb pick for a banjo?

  • @scarekrow9 Yes I use a thumb pick.

  • @extremevideopro would you say its easier than a regular guitar pick to use? or about the same?

  • @scarekrow9 probably much harder

  • What kind of usb cable do you use for the gt 10? thanks!

  • i had oen fo these a coupel eyars ago i had no problem saving my patches into the 1 2 3 and 4 bits i found some pretty awesome tones but sold it cos i got a tube amp!

  • I tried setting up my patches but it keeps changing after i try saving it. I tried setting up one of the pedals for "amp control" and after a day or so, it adds the wah pedal so now when I hit amp control the wah comes on too. do you have any advice?

  • @rev1194 it sounds like you might be in manual mode.

  • I was about to buy a Boss GT10, but after watching it takes 10 minutes to dial in a tone that you already had memorized. I don't know now. Does Boss have a website where you can exchange patches with other people?

It does sound great though man!!!

  • @leafyP Yes there are several places where you can download patches to the GT-10. My website is one place.

  • can anyone help me with an explanation im a noob when it come to multi fx boards and non of the demo actully explain this properly and there arnt any manual on the internet that dont make my computer crash.

i want this for practice and stage but do the pedal 1,2,3,4 are save pedal to put effects on for quick access eg put favour destorting on 1 and wah on 2 etc and what do those are foot pedal not numbered labeled do

  • At 8:10, I felt this irresistible urge to crank my speakers way up and I had this huge grin on my face. This video ROCKS!!

  • @ksmithdc Ha, thanks Kevin

  • Hey! how I can send patches from my mac to my boss gt 10? Can you help me please? If you can answer me, i'll be very happy :D!

  • @grenlli6666 Watch my video on transferring tones. Just use the MAC software

  • Hey Glen Awesome Tutorial My Man.....

Helped me alot with my Boss GT10 Keep ROCKIN Love your Patches

  • @ArpeggioBeast Cool, Thanks Skip

  • Do you play your Gt-10 through a guitar amp? Every time I try to play through my amp, which is a Marshall JTM 45, I get horrible feed back problems. Did you have the same problems? And if so, do you know how to fix them?

  • @00TheGuitarMan00 Yes, you have a good amp so don't run the amp models inside the GT-10. Instead use only the OD/Dist stomp models. Also set your output mode to "Stack/Return" in the output settings.

  • @extremevideopro Thanks for the advice! This may have finally fixed my problem, and I'm happy it was so simple.

  • i have a problem with my computer says that the gt-10 has malfunction and it cant load patches any advise? thanks.

  • hey man i just bought a gt10 and your videos have been a great help thnx!! awesome sound, your ear for a great tone is impeccable. good job and plz keep up the gt10 videos plz:)

  • lovely guitar, and btw great tones!

  • @Mancunion1976 Thank you

  • Great tutorial, thanks!

  • i've made made a lil tune using the loop feature, how can i save it to the pedal? if that's even possible..

  • @jt93guitar No unfortunately you cannot save loops in the GT-10.

  • Does it have a Marshall JCM2000 tone on preamp? If doesn't, can I create it? Thanks and keep uploading all those great videos.

  • @heliobluesrock HMMM, no it doesn't have that model but you can come close.

  • @extremevideopro ME 70 or zoom g9.2tt?

  • How did you get the footswitches with the CTL 3/CTL 4 on them?

  • Comment removed

  • can you save patches?

  • @StratBanez101 Yes you can save patches.

  • @StratBanez101 By making your own right?

  • @StratBanez101 You can make your own or you can change one of the factory tones and save it as your own.

  • @extremevideopro can u change the name of the patch?

  • @StratBanez101 Yes you can name it whatever you want.

  • @extremevideopro ok thanks

  • just got one today, i'm not great with manuals, can anyone tell me how to add a different sound/patch into a bank.. if that makes sense? im so confused.

  • @jt93guitar So you want to know how to save a patch to a bank? can you be more specific?

  • @extremevideopro right, i know how to create a sound using eztone, i have clicked on the write button, it has saved to a bank, on the number 2 control, how do i save other custom patches to the same bank, on numbers 1 3 and 4?

  • @jt93guitar Also, i've found a factory sound that i like, how would i add that to one of my own banks? and is the difference between a U01 and P01 that users can change the U01 banks.. if that makes sense, sorry if i'm not very clear

  • @jt93guitar The factory presets starting with a P are permanently stored in memory and cannot be overwritten. You can save them to any bank you want by pressing the write button then turning the big wheel and you will see the location change. Find the bank and number you want to save it to and press write again.

  • @extremevideopro Thanks a lot for your help

  • The HD or the GT-10 would probably be my choice. I think the HD units have better light crunch to crunchy sounds. Both have great effects and routing. The HD unit has much better I/O options like XLR outs.

  • ...continued from last post... Speaking from a standpoint of No Metal!!

Bules to rock only! Church Worship team!

    Thanks again

  • Hey Glenn, you do an awesome job on these vids! I usually look for a demo from you on any newgear I think about.

This is very general question, and you don't have to go into a lot of detail.

Out of the Pod X3L, the Boss gt10 and the Pod HD500, which would you use if you had limit your choice to only one of these. I am talking sound-wise mostly (direct to board) and not as much feature and routing, Seem to me the HD looses in that respect.

    thanks for your time.

  • i tried downloading a few of your patches from your website, but they save as a midi file. how i can put these patches on my gt-10? by the way, excellent video and amazing sounds !!!

  • @mroberts131 Use the GT-10 FX Floorboard software to load my patches.

  • hey Glenn , thanx for the helpful vids , very informative . Question : have you adjusted the Gtr Input , level up and presence down ? if so , it would be good to include this in the patch description . but again nice patches and solid playing , ThanxaLot

  • does the boss gt10 have harmonist ??

  • @Zerathul7 Yes it does

  • Thank you for sharing this, it's help me a lot to set the GT - 10

  • in your opinion which would you prefer? pod x3 live or the GT-10? And which, in your opinion sounds better? And which is easier to use? i would appreciate your answers very very much.

  • Glenn great job friend as always,I am inspired by your great work. Whats your opinion on the new line6 hd compared to this? Say if you had a choice between this and the new line6 HD which one... My Hd is on back order and Im seriously thinking of picking up the Gt10 tomorrow thanks mate, vids and music!!

  • @MusiciansQuarters They are very comparable. I'd wait before buying the GT-10 though because Boss should be coming out with there next generation in January.

  • @extremevideopro

Hey Bro.,, are you sure about this January thing?!!

Cuz. i was buying a GT-10 tomorow but if this is true i believe i will wait,,,,

  • @realwata Well this is just speculation but NAMM willl be in January and talk is BOSS will have new product.

  • cool as a talaxian winter

  • Hey man, thank you big time for this video!Using this as a base I have now been able to get a great rythm and lead tone using my GT 10. I was very unhappy with it at first, but using your compression guide and the dual amp I am now finally able to get a great metal tone. I'm using the 5150 drive and MS 1959I+II. You saved me from selling it and getting something else.Although, what do you think might be better, the GT 10 or the POD X3? Either way, this has been a life saver man, thanks!!!

  • @suffersystemdegrees Good I'm glad you found this useful.

  • @extremevideopro It now has a much, much more natural sound to it, and pretty much all of that fizz and digital aspect is almost non existent. Def going to recomend this video to anybody who has one, as it will no doubt help them in getting whatever tone they want, it's an amazing starting point (as I play mostly metal) and a great patch as well. Cheers!

  • I like the dual channel feature - excuse my ignorance, but I have 2 questions: is the dual sound sent to and coming from one cabinet/speaker? Also, if I have 2 side by side ADA 2x12 cabinets, can each channel be sent seperately - one to the left and one to the right?

  • @pptraxxx You have seperate cab and mic sims for each channel. You can use both cabinets with each separate channel but you will nee a stereo power amplifier.

  • @extremevideopro

Thanks for the reply - I am purchasing an ADA B200s (2-channels 100w each) - I am debating on buying two ADA 2x12 cabinets in order to use the dual feature - is this a good idea or can the feature still be used with one cabinet? Also - is it a feature that you would use regularly? Thanks again - I am just getting back into playing after a 5 year break and your videos are inspiring - can't wait to get the gt-10.

  • @pptraxxx The dual amp feature is really good for direct stereo recording. Also good if you play live and you have a stereo amplifier and 2 cabs. If you only use 1 cab then you won;t get the full effect of the dual tones.

  • Im getting dizzy now .......

  • Hey, can u do this tone demo for welcome to the jungle? - slash

I realy want the welcome to the jungle sounds,

so IF there is a chance pls show me.......

    thx :)

  • Is there a way to save the specs and transfer to another GT -10 pedal?

    Please, let me know.

    Thanks!

  • @2MakeTheDifference Yes, you use the GT-10 Librarian to save your tones then hook the other GT-10 up and transfer the tones into that GT-10.

  • Dear Glenn,

many thanks for all your efforts. You assist all guitar player all over the world. Now I`m proud to say that I also be within the GT 10 family. The EZ Tone is really greate to find great tones in a short term. For sure, the EQ is often needed in addition to decrease especially the high (6.3-10 kh) and low frequency (< 100 hz).

  • But there are many, many more possibilities to tweak the sound (Input Select/Output EQ, Tone modify, different speakers, mics, mic positions….) that influence the sound / frequency. You know, after hours of tweaking, often it result in more false positives. What are the main tools you use? What is a must in your opinion? Thanks in advance!

  • @shaboum Yes there are many tone shaping options. I use the EQ and Tone Modify mostely. Just remember "Less is More"!!!

  • @extremevideopro Hey Glen, great tone! I am currently using the GT-10 into a jvm 205 w/1960a cab. The reason I choose the Gt-10 was it allows me to create a greater variety of tones. I will admit my ability to sift through the options on the Gt-10 is weak . I have search the net to find a comprehensive tutorial covering the Gt-10 but I have not found one. Do you know where I could purchase/download a more comprehensive tutorial on the gt-10. BTW your u-tube videos are excellent!

  • @wboudreau134 Yes if you go over to Boss GT-Central forums. There is a guy on there that has a very good tutorial.

  • @mokuchley Thank you, that's a PRS Limited Edition Experience Model. When you say "breathing air" you mean noise or hissing sound?

  • Glenn, you're the only person I can think of that might know the answer to this. I am attempting to use a custom speaker setup on the GT-10 and was curious if you know the proper settings to most adequately emulate any of the following speaker types; 25W Greenbacks, 75W Celestions, or Vintage 30's? I am guessing this is going to be in the Color Low and Color High settings, but I suspect some modification to the preamp tone settings might also be necessary. Thanks.

  • @GuitarTomB Yes that's right and you will also find the Tone Modify effects located in FX1 & FX2 will help to manipulate the sound more.

  • Hello Mr.(extremevideopro ) was wondering, How I could get close to That sound used By: Nuno Bettencourt On "Flight of the BumbleBee" was wondering if I can get that Delay with the GT-10, Just sounds Hard ,Tried it But Can't seem to find it>>>>Thanks

  • I know if I can mimic sounds of other instruments in the gt-10,

    piano, strings, sax...

  • @Ebenezer349 No, you would need a guitar synth for that.

  • Wow Pretty Darn Good !! Sound is Amazing !!

  • Sounded like crap at first, but once you got the backing and the double tracks going WOW! It sounded great.

  • Hey at 5:30 were you talk about the direct level... does that mean i can use the gt-10 as just an effects pedal? cuz i like the Drive from my head, and the effects from the gt-10 but the gt-10 clouds my signal up?... so could this "direct level" help clear up my signal? thanks...

p.s. tell me if i need to explain myself more xD....

  • @7DeadleySyns Wel no that is not what I'm talking about at 5:30 but to answer your question, Yes you can use the GT-10 as an FX only device and use the drive from your amp or any other stomp box. That is how I am running the GT-10 right now woth my Dr Z MAZ 38 SR. 2x12. I use the delays, reverbs, chorus, flange, octaver, phaser., etc. of the GT-10 and I use external distortion boxes for my drive. And the amps drive as well.

  • Very good tone and job !

  • @GuitarManRivera Thank you

  • That's a whooooole lot of work to get that one tone man. But I'll tell you that's a very sweet sound, and spot on like Gibbons' man. This is the kind of work an artist will put in to paint his picture perfect.

  • Way too much work! Thumbs down!

  • That short delay is great.. it sounded like 2 guitars are playing together. Very nice tone :-)

  • Very good...!!!

  • Have Mercy!

  • @metaloutlander haw haw haw haw!

  • Thank you very much ^_^

  • Awesome tone!

  • @danslbrun Thank you

  • What is the name of your case :)

  • @LukasOddeDK CNB PDC-4100G

  • Thangs :)

  • Where can I buy that case?

  • @LukasOddeDK Rondo Music

  • recorded via USB? Great Tone!!!

  • @BastyGuitar Thanks, not usb, just analog L&R out into computer. Dig your page man!!

  • @extremevideopro Glenn got my GT 10 the other day. Havin fun!!

You say here no USB. I like the sound your achieving! How do you

get the sound into your computer? I have a Presonus FireBox. Would I plug into the two line ins on the interface to go analog.

  • @pakblueman Yes that is exactly how you would do it.

  • @pakblueman The GT-10 has asio driver included and you can record directly with the GT-10 without any other hardware (except laptop ^^)

  • the peavey vypyr really beats this imo

  • hey Glenn, wats the song for the intro? is there a name or tab? thx

  • @nicksatch Oh that's one of my originals called "Tell Me".

  • hey Glenn, just a quick question, im up not sure if i should buy a gt10 or the new pod x3 live? any suggestions? which would u say is more user friendly?

  • I got my gt 10 a few days ago and i just wanna know how to get an open patch to create a tone from scratch

  • @Dean62237 Very easy. Just find a stock preset you want to erase (remember all stock presets are in factory memory and is you want to go back to it later it's still there). So find one you don't want, press the write button then use the right cursor button and scroll until you see "Patch Initialize". Press write again and that patch will be erased and empty. You can now start from scratch to build your own patch.

  • @extremevideopro Thanks that helped allot great video thanks:)

  • i love the sound you got outta this. imma get this pedal board soonish(once im done paying off my guitar) ive tried the gt-10 a total 5 hours.. this tone you made sounds perfect for my band and for myself!

  • @sourcehacker Cool, you will have fun with it.

  • i'm looking at getting this pedal board but do you have to run it through something like a keyboard amp? i have a jcm800 combo 2 12 can i run it through that or am i better off getting a roland or something?

  • @jerrodRHP Wow that is a really nice amp. If it were me I would use the GT-10 only for FX and not distortions. Use your amp for that. I don't really like the Roland's.

  • That's a lot of work for just one tone. It sounded pretty damn good though.

  • wow i want that shit :D ^_^

  • do you recommend gt10 or x3 live? thanks

  • i am thinking about getting one of these modelers. i happen to have some tannoy reveal near field active monitors collecting dust... can these be used to hook up to say a gt 10 or x3 live?

    thanks man

  • Absolutely they can and should sound very good. By Active i guess you mean that they have a built in amplifier right? you will need that to hear the sound from whatever audio source you feed into them. I'm sure you know this

  • wow you're fast! thanks a lot... well it's like this: i previously used them for my keyboard, which have no built in speakers, but i got hooked on guitar so it may be a better use for them.

  • Nice video.! Could you be so kind as to answer a question for me? I bought the Boss GT-10 to get my son more involved in playing his guitar. It worked well with a little cheap fender amp. Lots of nice sounds were achieved. I have since bought him a better amp.Line 6 Valve MKII 212. Amp sounds really good, but adding GT-10 sounds like crap. Is using the GT-10 with this amp like taking a step backwards, or is there a way to hook it up for a better sound? Thanks for any help.

  • You can try different output modes in the Gt-10. That might make the amp sound better. Nice amp BTW!!

  • No doubt tube amps have the authentic tone.. However I run my GT-10 through my Marshall jcm 2000 and It "warms it up" a bit.. It's also a built in back up unit when playing live as it can be run directly to the board; not if but when your tube amp malfunctions.. Very informative video.. Thanks

  • great video.

but at the end of the day it just sounds digital to me!

    doesn't sound quite like anolog.

  • No, I know. These digital modelers are just not there yet. You really can't beat a tube amp and analog pedals no doubt.

  • great job

  • great job showing us how to get great tones man!!!!

  • Hey man, want to join a band?

  • and thats pedals helps very much ?

  • Oh yes. it really unlocks the potential of the GT-10. Watch my video on using the GT-10 Assigns to get an idea what you can control with the extra pedals.

  • the gt 10 . come with the pedals on the right ?

  • No you have to buy those extra but they are very cheap only $24.00ea.

  • If someone showed me how to achieve mastodons tone, boy would I pay for it!

  • whats the song playing, intro?

  • That's some of my original music.

  • thats sick.can you gimmie its tab?

  • sorry man I can't read tab.

  • so tell me whats its name?

  • I think that ones called "Tell Me"

  • All this to get one Fn tone? Why would anyone buy one of these things, when you can get the same tone with just a few stomp boxes?

  • Hey man use what ever you want. Fact is you would need about 30 stomp boxes to what this thing does.

  • I feel ya, I just wish there were processors with better foot control functionality. I mean If I'm gigging I don't have time to do something like that on the fly. Creating a preset to all of what 2 of the actual programmable buttons on that is impractical for the price . Unless I'm way off, cuz I do admit I don't know a hole lot about those things. I had a Digitech floor processor a while back but got rid of it for allot of reasons.

  • I herd the Line 6 Pod X3 live is more user friendly then this thing. But can you get the same quality of sound? Also is there any benefit to getting this as to say, the same thing in a rack module?

  • Yes you can get the same sound from Line. Better maybe if you play very high gain metal, thrash r death metal or something like that. The advantage over the rack mount is that the foot controller is included.

  • I like variety of tones, I play all boss stomp boxes, with a rack BBE maxi and a Rack rocktron hush.

  • I like this GT- It just don't seem user friendly. to much time goes in to dialing a single tone. Even if you have access to all the features. Could you achieve the same results faster with a Rack and foot switch?
