  • There are also not so rare diseases such as brain cancer that get less attention and effort than the celeb causes. When my dad was diagnosed with it I began researching it. The stories are horrific, plentiful and yet completely unfamiliar to those unaffected. My dad lasted 6 months. A slow loss of functions we take for granted. Life is cruel that way. I hope you hang on to your spunk as you get older, it's awesome!! (The spunk, not the getting older).

  • DFTBA

  • Vlogging Molly! Like flogging Molly?

  • Only if the world was all Nerdfighters.

  • Great video! Very emotional! Check out our channel and the vlog there if you like? Kim

  • Thank you for screaming out about those rare and misunderstood diseases. . .from a sufferer. You are a rare find in a human being. Thanks again for sharing your voice.

  • Molly, it's amazing how much emotion is in your voice. It seems so effortless for you. This is an amazing gift, you have. Just watching this video a couple times could easily bring me to tears. Yet, in other videos you make me feel all happy, and giggly. But their doesn't seem to be much difference in your tone, or facial expressions. I don't understand.

  • Fantastic video and a great cause!

  • wow really strong vid DFTBA! well done!

  • 654687

  • Boo Picks, Yeah Molly

  • This was touching. You have a powerful tone to your voice, and you have massive emotion. Well done. I hope that one day something will be done for these diseases as well as the others.

  • Well done. When you are celebrity, you can continue your important work for the 25 million Americans who are afflicted with these rare and debilitating diseases.

  • good job.

    really.

i heard the this american life essay in my english class, because my teacher is ira glasses personal fan girl, and i litterally cried. for about ten minutes.

after i got home, i saw this video, in a completely random coincidence.

    and i donated.

  • well...atleast she does more with her life than make videos about getting high.

  • thank you thank you thank you.

i'm glad you don't pick the popular well known stuff. i admire you and your convictions.

  • wow, youre an amazing speacker!!

  • I like the way you presented this, not putting down anything, but you know there already is a well known source of funding. For the disease that you mentioned( I had never been informed by the media before) I believe there should be more government funding's. Nice project for awesome. I thought this video was awesome! :)

  • I never was able to meet my grandfather because he died of multiple sclerosis before I was born. Thankyou for speaking out about rare diseases.

  • I went to look, and to listen to that radio clip. Crying the entire way through. You're right, there should be more people working for that! Have you ever seen a movie/drama called "One litre of tears"? It's about a girl who's brain shrinks til she can't stand, walk, eat, swallow... the symtoms are the same, but yet it's not the same decease. There is one similar thing though, people know as little about that as they know about this... awful,

Thank you for making a video. Itll reach people.

  • From start to end you had me completely focused. I'm now looking through your links.

  • I am with you I heard the same one on my local radio station so i would love to help how do i

  • great video. however, it's a shame that the US medical system doesn't want to help people get better. they want to sedate and medicate them and draw as much money from them as possible.

  • What you are doing is good. :) we should all be like you. Peace <3

  • bla bla bla.........mädel du stresst!!!!!!!!

  • that was so nice of u

  • you ugly retard, get lost. tu madre es fea...

    (ps: i'm portuguese)

  • Chinga tu madre pinche portugues traga-pitos!!!

  • ur going to b the first american women president!

  • Thank you so much. After watching this video, I listened to the episode of This American Life you referred to, which not only made me realize that the show was online (which made me happy), but gave me a much greater understanding of the disease than if I had just watched this video. Of course, without the video, I never would have known about it in the first place. Thank you.

  • Went back througt the comments and was glad to see that the possitive responses by far overwhelm the negitive comments. now that makes me feel warm and fuzzy! but still it saddens me to see that some people make jokes about a serious issue. peace

  • I don't understand. Maybe I'm naive or just plain stupid. But here is a girl who is speaking out and trying to enlighten us about an ailment which is terrible for those who are afflicted with it. WHY ALL THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS? if you don't agree leave it be! don't butcher someone who is trying to do good! good work Molly! Peace.

  • 5/5 nice video!

  • My Dear!! your video look like those ideal activitist try to compaign some skeptical issues. You should use objective tone to encourage others to support the program. I would suggest that you should be act like a consultant presenting the mutual benefit(s), in a win-win position of joining/supporting the program.

  • This video is...Awesome!

  • awesome!

  • ?? im lost.... ?? xx UU

  • Wow, this is great, Icwant to thank her for telling people about this. My dad has M.S. and so did my grandpa, i can connect.

  • That's awesome. Thanks for your courage.

  • I applaud this video and while I whole heartedly agree with you in this time of supposed CHANGE, I'd really like to see a lot of the research to be going to PREVENTION as much if not more than how to treat such diseases.

    Be Well.

Happy holidays and a prosperous New Year

  • This is an wonderful Project For Awesome video! You are right - there are so many lesser causes that need advocating as well, and the world needs to know about them.

  • ahhhh.you.are.amazing.for.this.

    ahhhhhhhhhhhmazing.

  • what the hell happened to your eyebrows?

  • you're really lame xtcbitch14, and her eyebrows are beautiful, awesome video. you should win.

  • you are my favorite.

    thanks for being awesome

  • thanks, that was really informative. i feel smarter now than i was two minutes ago.

  • ★★★★★ Merry Christmas! ★★★★★

  • okay,as a video editor to another video editor: do u HAVE TO cut and fast forward in EVERY stop and EVERY comma ? is it cool or something?

  • Samura, you may be right but isn't that form over substance. I think you may have missed the point of the video. From one commenter to another great use of CAPITALS!

  • oh i'm very sorry i upset some of u with my comment.plz by all means continue BUTCHERING the art of video editing and applaud everyone doing it

  • Your eyebrows looks really good.

  • Awesome Cause!

P4A was and is still an AWESOME SUCCESS!

  • No entendi un carajo pero la chika tiene unos bellos ojos jejeje

  • first: great job!! way to go!

second: my name is molly :P wat a connection

  • Nice Job

  • There is no such thing as global warming

  • okay? that makes sense.

  • Who can tell? Proponents and skeptics all use the same data to both prove and disprove its existence.

  • Amazing enugh said

  • WOOO FRONTAL LOBE DEMENTIA!!!

  • amazingamazingamazingamazing.

if i had money, i would be donating, i hope you know that.

but i am jobless and poor, etcetc.

i know that many people will be donating because of you.

  • in spanish please.......

  • She's hot.

  • Diseases that don't affect a huge amount of people are ignored because there is no money in it to research a cure. Bottom line. Its always money. Spend millions upon millions of dollars to research a cure for something that affects a tiny fraction of the populace? Hell no! We need "x" number of afflicted people to buy "x" number of our pharmaceutical products or we'll lose MONEY! Heaven forbid. MD has had HOW many telethons? Where does the money go?

  • MS has a huge run here in the big OK. I alsways run, for john. :)

  • your compassion and your conviction in this video really touched me. i have the utmost respect and admiration for you, if i didn't already before from hearing your pretty songs and watching your goofy antics. thank you for consistently inspiring me.

  • Omy goodness at first I thought this said "Flogging Molly"

    Boy was I wrong.

Anyways good job! I liked what you said.

  • wtf!!!!!

  • great job finally a video that explain something good about youtube's work

  • lol

  • Kudos! I have watched this twice, Great Job.

  • :D Someone didn't FTBA. Decreasing world suck, Molly, definitely. This really touched me, I liked your video.

  • Oh Molly, I'm glad that you can deliver such a powerful and obviously well thought out presentation, yet half the comments are still people picking up on/ declaring their love for you.

    <3

  • Epic. I loved it. But Nuclear's right. Hahaha.

  • Well, the other half is haters, so it balances out.

  • @sweetafton23

    haters gonna hate.

  • you can count me in molly

  • lol

  • I heard the same episode, and it moved me as well. I think you are on the right track, if a bit off focus. In reality, if people focused on the science of many diseases, they'd see that often they point to the same root (if specifically unknown) causes. But root, un-celebritized causes are unglamourous. This is one of the reasons that anti-rival and stem cell research will yield such a panapoly of results. Time to educate people on potential, rather than the now. We take such a short view.

  • Ur cute!! :)

  • I love you.

  • Yay! congrats on the feature Molly!

The good thing about these all being featured a couple days after P4A is that for all the negative decepticonian comments they receive, there's already thousands of positive comments on each video =)

    keep being awesome <3

  • Congrats on being featured. You are an inspirational speaker.

  • that was powerful. thank you.

  • B= No, no I wasnt accusing you of equalizing them but rather that was off putting to hear them listed together at all. I didnt particularly mean to accuse you of anything.

My original comment was merely to indicate why I chose not to take up the cause you ask us as viewers to take up at the end of your video.

You seem like a genuinely benevolent person and I applaud you for taking up a positive cause at all.

  • There's a pretty big local band down here (Miami), called Flogging Molly!!!

  • Yeah, thats what caught my eye

  • I understand... but we need to take a stand.

  • Agree

  • This is video EXACTLY describes what I have been thinking. <3

  • that was wrong

  • You made an interesting point about advocating for causes as coming into style and also referencing the point about celebrities however, that said, someone commented about how cures suck up reasources and this is an important point.

The environment maintains a consistent level of hostility; disease research will never CURE anything. Research is a reflection of the strong influencing the constraints of the system (define by the greed of the economy) for their own ends..(con't)

  • For every one person who fights for a cause there are 2 (not an actual stat) who will seek to limit progress for financial gain. Major drug companies intentionally supress treatments to maximize profit; they exert influence through the very researchers by providing benefits so that even the doctors who set out to treat these problems fall victem to the system; what it comes down to is: If your disease is hard to cure, and low% concentrations of the population have it, your screwed.

  • ummm isn't project awesome supposed to be raising money or something by getting sponsored and then making an "awesome" video. Well your video sucks. youre like attacking every one and talking like someone on a radio commercial. And if its such a big problem y don't you start up the programs.

  • i couldn't figure out what u were saying because all i could see was that one of ur eyebrows is higher than the other one sorry

    just making a point!

  • lmao I just noticed that, oh well..

  • I... that...

    o_o

    It IS! :O

  • Squilla898... you say what i think

  • GReat! DFTBA!

  • All I can say is that the world is already overpopulated, and curing all these people means more people survive and use up even more land and recources. Sorry. That's just the way things are. Nature will always invent a way to kill off members of a species to achieve some kind of balance. It's nice to care about sick people, but honestly, it's not a bad thing if people die. The world needs fewer humans as it is... Sorry.

  • Right. Not your problem. Who cares if you have a rare disease, or your family has a rare disease? Or your kids... really... its cool. Just sit back and let nature take its course on your loved ones. Or you. So when people ask you to give to something that you don't suffer from or doesn't effect you in the least then ignore it. Its not your problem. More air for you. Until it does effect you. Like you said the world needs fewer humans... Sorry.

  • Kill yourself, become a martyr for the cause you espouse.

What? No? Not you? Not our most special of snowflakes? The resistance couldn't go on without you, you say?

  • dude wat the fuck did you just compare this guy to a snowflake? i mean i totally don't agree with him or this lady but you know snowflakes? Come on you sound like a whinny bitch in that bottom part.

  • Fuck you the gay jokes are really stupid

  • that wasn't really a gay joke. it was more of a 'raping your father' joke. get it? :-D

  • GREAT VIDEO MESSAGE Sweetafton23.............Hey DropkickNoonan, you're the joke. I suffer with M.S. but I would sure like to have a go at dropkikkin U :) (by the way! did u notice, I did'nt use one swear word there, dickhead)

  • I never condemned swearing and by the way i'd kick your neurologically diseased ass all day(Sorry i didn't bless you with a faggy smiley face) You're a dick i could care less if you cancer and would die tomorrow btw My sn is named after Dropkick Murphy.

  • Thanks- the whole snowflake thing is lost on me. And the martyr crap? Honestly- I'm not suicidal, and would rather help change the world by helping slow overpopulation by supporting the use of contraceptives. This can also help stop the spread of many deadly diseases. (safe sex methods). I'll admit, I'm kind of a misanthropist, but it's my decision. Perfect strangers on YouTube telling me to kill myself? Not even worth replying to, sometimes. So, DropkickNoonan- thanks for the support...kinda.:P

  • yea i respect all views i don't necessarily agree with you but that dude is just a dick

  • True that. :)

  • I think that most people would rather die old. Than be made to suffer from the diseases

  • It's hard for science to look at diseases as rare as this because there are simply not enough people who have it. Lets say they did make a break through a clinical trial may not even be possible. I'm not saying we shouldn't fund it because all disorders should be looked into. I'm just giving you a better explanation other than no celeb has it. In all reality it is much sadder. The pharmaceutical companies would not profit from the drug. If GSK made a pill to cure cancer their stocks wld b insane

  • So did you just kind of log onto Youtube, see 5000 comments in your inbox, and just kind of go "Oh, what the hell did they do?"

Actually, come to think of it, all of the videos I've ever put up have been private, so I don't actually know how it informs you that someone commented on you video.

  • i'm sorry

  • yawn

  • I'm rooting for you.

  • I regret making this comment. but you have terrified me.

  • Please stop using awesome as a noun.

It's like saying "You're made of dumb"

    It's just dumb.

    Don't be dumb.

  • Congrats on your opinion, but seriously, this is not the place for bashing. If you want to express yourself, making a video is a better idea. I always look at blank channels like yours and wonder what you're hiding.

Anyway, great video! I've never heard of this disease before. Thanks for the info! :D

  • This is such a great cause. You are so awesome!

  • she reminds me of happyslip idk why :P

  • oh my god that is so sad.

  • you are awesome... i subbed but your eyebrows bother me =S sorry had to say that....

  • damn you! i looked at your comment b4 watching and now i cant watch it without looking at them!! damn you! xD

  • Awesome for sure!

  • I LOVE YOU!

  • YOu rocked! you are very good! i support the cause!

    wooooow and you are pretty

  • that was amazing u rock!!!!

  • I thought it was gunna be bout flogging molly.. i thought it was just a typo since f is right next to v

BECAUSE WE FIND OURSELF IN THE SAME OLD MESS! singin drunken lullabies....

  • I knew this would have nothing to do with Flogging Molly, but I checked it out anyway...

  • lol you think is a little off.... in many ways..

  • Looks like many of these people commenting are FTBA... sadness

  • wow this was great... and who gives if it wasnt about flogging molly

  • there's no birthday party in here for me.

  • littleg2553-

Is it her fault you are illiterate?

Do you think a problem will just disappear if we just ignore it and let it run its course? She wants to help and she's asking for our help. (How dare she!) Get over yourself and try to grasp the concept of sympathy for others. What is the point of criticizing someone for caring about people inflicted with a disease? I mean, come on.

  • When did I mention the government?

  • EYE HART JEW!

  • my cousin plays in flogging molly

  • im listening to their song "devil's dance floor" right now

  • Great video, poignant message!

  • FLOGGING MOLLY! :)

  • Damn Bitch Slow Down!

    Hunug

  • Great video, you gave me chills. Thanks for bringing to light this disease, and your message is a powerful one.

  • Anyone else notice her right eye brow is a little higher than her left?

  • haha yea big time!

  • awesome video and very true about how other diseases deserve recognition too. DFTBA!

  • Flogging Molly!

  • That's really intelligent and constructive, thanks.

  • i did not reply to you, it was meant for

MerryChristmas542777. don't know why it didn't get posted properly. sry

  • Nice and very interesting.
