  • Hey, O-Bummer! This song SO fits you! *chuckle*

  • pemdas927: Actually what you want is to hear Barry Carl do the song with Thurl Ravenscroft (the voice of Tony The Tiger). Boris Karloff narrated the program but Thurl Ravenscroft sang the song!

  • Barry Carl is friends with my parnets for god know how long. Hes about the only person i know who is famous in his own way.

  • I would love a best of Barry Carl. And if Mr. Karloff wasn't dead, I would love to hear the both of them doing this song.

  • What is it they say he took before "Roasbeast Stew"? Can't find lyrics anywhere.

  • @danielamin sounded like candy cane?

  • @Michaelgreen True! I mean, I'm pretty sure it's "something cane" but I keep hearing "philly cane" or "frilly cane". Frilly Cane sounds a little more Seuss, but I don't think it makes sense lol

  • @danielamin It always sounded like "kiddy cane" to me....but I think he was just keeping his lips pursed while saying "candy" in "candy cane"...which would make it "cändy cane", I suppose.

  • @danielamin I'm pretty sure that's just Scott's slightly odd pronunciation of "candy canes". But I can ask him when I see Rockapella later this month. I'm making up a list of things to ask him('cause I'm always so bloody starstruck when I see the guy I never remember what I wanted to know even tho he's happy to chat.

  • @ongakunotenshi Seriously? If you did that it'd be AWESOME! Especially since I would never have the opportunity to do it myself!

  • The Grinch disliked this video once.

  • @efil4own1 true true

  • this. is. the. stuff.

  • My chrous teacher shwed us this band

  • Rockapella is the shit for sure

  • In regards to that quote, it's not just a characterization of their styles. George is actually a baritone with an excellent low end, but like most baritones he has a mid-range speaking voice and a great falsetto as well; see some of his "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" recordings. Barry, on the other hand, is a true bass, with a low speaking voice and not quite as much high range but a lower low end.

  • Barry Carl is about the best singer alive today!

  • Definitely Barry is better than George

  • @mets2128

I like them both. I can't really say one is better than the other. Barry's bottom range is lower, but George has a higher upper range (he can sing comfortably in the tenor range). Barry can shake the walls and has an awesome voice for bass leads. George, not quite wall shaking but has a wider range of songs that he can sing lead on.

Saw this somewhere and I think it sums it up well:

George sings bass because he can.

Barry sings bass because he is.

  • cool dude

  • Rockapella's version of Mr. Grinch FTW!!!!
