So, I have a pair of 4 Retro 308497 002 00. The Flight Tag date is 09-14-02. The heel bump and everything else you mentioned is there, but no black cat on the heel. Have you seen these? Any help would be great. I can't sell because of the tag date...
I looked at the mist 4s on flight club and on the side it shows it close to the lacing but on yours there is a gap right there. Why are they different? Are they all like that?

my mistake I meant to say perpendicular not parallel. Basically the mesh on one side of my military IV's is straight up and down not angles towards the ankle.

Aside from shoes not lasting forever, cracking or chipping happens it's all part of the quality of JB shoes we sneakerheads have been complaining about. Great video, I bought a pair of Black Cats a while back and have always been suspicious of them because I bought them through ebay. (first and only pair I have bought from ebay) But after watching your video I can rest easy because now I know they are 100% real.

These videos are geared to help you with any Jordan IV they ALL have a heal bump, talk tongue and stitching is the same. Only difference is the colorway which is why I say know your colorways. @iotaken There is NOTHING wrong with wearing any shoe out on the market. Personally when I go to cop an Air Jordan I prefer the signature line and of the signature line I prefer 1-14 since those were the shoes he wore when he was a Bull. To ME those are more significant than any other releases, but that's just MY preference. I do have J's past the 14 and that are non-OG colorways. I don't see anything wrong with Team J's, Fusions, Spiz'Ikes, Dubs, 6 Rings etc, I just don't care for some of them.

yeah I was talking about around the ankle cusionhing. Cuz I have the military blue 4's and the bred 4's as well and the cushioning around the ankle for those 4's are not as puffy as the black cats I just got . Since you got the military blue 4's , could you look at them and tell me if there is a difference in the cushioning on the ankle after comparing the military blues and the black cats??
quick question, I just got the jordan 4 black cats. Everything seems legit but my only concern was the cushioning in the back. It's a little more puffier ( more cushioned ) than my other 4s. Are they supposed to be like that?

@loveyou89210 I wish I could help you but your question is relative to your comfort level, I can't really answer that. If I recall correctly though, the area right around the ankle did seem a little more cushioned than I recall on the earlier 1999 retro's. Seems like the 2006's did have more cushion around the upper ankle. I hope that helps you out. -Peace

I'm with you on the IV's, Jstar. These were my first J's (the Mars Red/Black/White colorway) back when I was in the 6th grade in '89. I just copped an authentic pair of the Mars Blackmon's on Ebay once again. Definitely a nostalgic and great shoe! Keep up the good work.

Pretty much the same things tongue height, heal bump, Grey on the laces should match grey on the midsole. The older ones will have Nike Air on the back. Heal Bump is the absolute first thing I look at on IV's in general. -Peace

What's up Jstar. Big fan of yours. Just wanted to ask you about the air jordan 4 mars blackmon. I have been itching to buy one for years and finally bought one the other day on ebay. They were listed as authentic with several bidders. I paid $195.00. Although when I received them today the black straps looked faded. Did that happen with them? Also, because they were somewhat faded they bled a little onto the white leather like they've been sitting there for too long. As always much respect!

@olwayshigh Shoes aren't made to last forever, those are 11 years old so to be honest you might have to contact someone that specializes in shoe repair and restoration but you won't be able to wear them though. -Peace

I recently found a website that has pretty good deals on jordans who claim that they are 100% authentic, I watched your video and somethings are consistant with real ones as well at the fakes... for example, the heel bump is definately there but the tongue doesnt site real high. I also heard that If there are ^(triangles) around the front of the shoe seams and throughout the rest of the shoe it is typically a good sign that they are fake.. get at me.. peace

Great video, I bought a pair of Black Cats a while back and have always been suspicious of them because I bought them through ebay. (first and only pair I have bought from ebay) But after watching your video I can rest easy because now I know they are 100% real.

why do people say the fours arnt good shoes to ball in cause i ball in some thunder fours and theyre really comfy. i now the thunders are a shoe to keep for display but my friend gave me them and they were messed up cause he use to wear em all the time so i made them into my ballin shoes

IV = CDP bred/Mars

@RedHotChilli88 No, I can not start doing individual colorways it would take too much of my time. These videos are geared to help you with any Jordan IV they ALL have a heal bump, talk tongue and stitching is the same. Only difference is the colorway which is why I say know your colorways. I've never owned fakes J's but how do the inside tags look like? Are they the same as real J's ? Because the inside tag should match the box it came with and the date should be a few months before the actual premiere of the shoe, right?

so do yu believe that if jordan never wore them then they arent worth purchasing? i mean ive seen mj wear his jumpman sneak around the 16&17 shoe transition, but i dont sse why ppl dont see that the jumpman was like the jumpman logo's own shoe(or someone running out of ideas); the prototype to the shoes we sneaker heads crave, i know if i could not afford the shoe he wore i wore the jumpman that imitates it. something wrong with that? example(pro strong, team 1, aj)

@iotaken There is NOTHING wrong with wearing any shoe out on the market. Personally when I go to cop an Air Jordan I prefer the signature line and of the signature line I prefer 1-14 since those were the shoes he wore when he was a Bull. To ME those are more significant than any other releases, but that's just MY preference. I do have J's past the 14 and that are non-OG colorways. I don't see anything wrong with Team J's, Fusions, Spiz'Ikes, Dubs, 6 Rings etc, I just don't care for some of them.

yeah I was talking about around the ankle cusionhing. Cuz I have the military blue 4's and the bred 4's as well and the cushioning around the ankle for those 4's are not as puffy as the black cats I just got . Since you got the military blue 4's , could you look at them and tell me if there is a difference in the cushioning on the ankle after comparing the military blues and the black cats??

quick question, I just got the jordan 4 black cats. Everything seems legit but my only concern was the cushioning in the back. It's a little more puffier ( more cushioned ) than my other 4s. Are they supposed to be like that?

@loveyou89210 I wish I could help you but your question is relative to your comfort level, I can't really answer that. If I recall correctly though, the area right around the ankle did seem a little more cushioned than I recall on the earlier 1999 retro's. Seems like the 2006's did have more cushion around the upper ankle. I hope that helps you out. -Peace

Hey i was just wondering about some of the IV's i've been seeing that have the triangle part on the side but the stitching under it would be extra long and wouldn't match up to the width. I wanted to know if it was because it was an older version or if they are fake. also i wanted to know if these are fake because they have no plastic grid on the side.

@Supermoney97 Older ones do have a stitching that does extend past the plastic like the 1999 releases. As for you second question I can't answer that because I don't know what "these" are when you say:

I'm with you on the IV's, Jstar. These were my first J's (the Mars Red/Black/White colorway) back when I was in the 6th grade in '89. I just copped an authentic pair of the Mars Blackmon's on Ebay once again. Definitely a nostalgic and great shoe! Keep up the good work.

Yo jstar25 i friend just got the mars blackmon everything looks real. cept, the tongue has a flight sign but the back of the tounge theres a black and red pattern and the heel part where it shows the red jumpman the heel top like soft. isnt suppose to be plastic?

Pretty much the same things tongue height, heal bump, Grey on the laces should match grey on the midsole. The older ones will have Nike Air on the back. Heal Bump is the absolute first thing I look at on IV's in general. -Peace
