  • Proud of you! And your a cutie too!!

  • yes kayla... "beautiful voice,beautiful vision,beautiful you"...keep on keeping on...1love.

  • WONDERFUL VIDEO OF SOMEONE OVERCOMING A VERY DIFFICULT DISORDER/

  • Hi Kayla, I'm often the bad guy, a support worker, trying to support people with personalities (within a mental health environment). I often feel I'm failing when we don't see progress. You're an inspiration, couldn't help but notice your accent, I'm Irish too and like many, had a bad time growing up there. An isolated society is never gonna nuture good mental health, it's too focused on survival. I wish you every success in your personal & professional life, take real care of yourself x

  • kayla ur are so beautiful and inspiring. I also have bpd i also dbt therapy that is helping, and yes people can lead a normal life. U have a beautiful voice. My passion is art and i paint from my heart and i want to work with animals so i help at a shelter for dogs take then for walks, makes me happy i can make a difference. Thanku kayla 4 inspiring me xxxx

  • Thanks for this Kayla - I found this video because of my interest in the Eigenharp, but this video is massively helpful. Thanks so much.

  • Massive respect to you for this video; truly proving to the outside world that just because a person has mental health challenges doesn't mean they lack ability in life and are not capable of being successful! And also for your ability to play many instruments (I am in love with your pink violin! :) ). Good luck in life and music!

  • DBT is a kind of therapy that works for this. I was told I had BPD and I found that DBT was helpful. Also, and I don't mean to state the obvious, but if you don't get enough sleep, it will make you feel nutty. I was told I had BPD during a time where I was so sleep deprived that I used to actually think I was seeing bugs everywhere. Then I spent months recovering, just resting and it did wonders.

  • Well done, you're great :-)

  • I wish I was as strong as you are, Kayla.

  • What exactly is your story and how did you get over BPD.

    Fellow Celt

  • I'm quite bad today. Just went to the shops to cheer myself up. i thought I looked good too. Not for long. When How do I feel?

I just want to belong. I just want to be known...

  • Thank you for what you are doing. I was with my GF for only about 3 months. I love her but just cannot do this anymore. I think we are broken up now anyway, just not sure, she pushes me away then wants me back, cries me back so many times. I just want to somehow skillfully, gently let her know what we all feel she has but she won't at leas yet. She has projected such blame onto me, onto her friends, demonize me when all I ever wanted to do was love her, and be her best friend.

  • @SCnative64 I hope you have learnt from that. There would be a reason why you went for a person with BPD. Good luck.

  • Much love, support and luck during the coping and recoveing process, Kayla :) Always remain connected to your higher power and source..you are loved! I wish most people who may have diagnosed this would seek therapy to help cope and work towards recovery, instead of denying or making up excuses. Big hugs, kayla and much much support :)

  • I struggled with BPD or years and have made tremendous progress. Hypnotherapy helps, but I do tend to still have paranoid and negative thinking (like being convinced people hate me). Thanks for sharing! :)

  • Dear Kayla,

I had been looking at Eigenharp music and found this clip. I am very familiar with BPD, and listening to the description you paint of yourself, you've overcome a good many of the facets of the disease.

The very disciplines you've used to become such an accomplished musician, if brought to bear on the disease process, should bring you such success in being a victor over these emotional handicaps.

By the way, take a look at the Yamaha PSR S710. Much better than the Eigenharp

  • i tottaly understand what you say i am dutch and i got borderline with ADHD it''s destroys me and relations, it s a fuckt up feeling, but thanx for you re talking!!!

  • I still say that there is nothing wrong with this beautiful and talented woman. She was probably treated poorly by a bunch of fools who did not realize how incredible she is.

  • thank you for being a drive in the efforts to fight stigma against us.

  • Well done you for being out about your BPD. It take's courage.

  • Hello Hunni this was really emotional for me to watch i suffer with inner child bpd and schizophrenia it took me a while to get used to wanting to be a child even though im 27 i just feel safer in this world as a child rather than an adult....its hard for me to admit that mine is so bad at times i have a dummy and a baby bottle its just the way i am im ill thats it i cant change it i am me.i always thnk others hate me i experienced self harm ty for posting this xxx

  • I didn't even know I had such a disorder, until a friend of mine dated a boderline and started to describe what it meant. Emotionally I am having trouble processing that I have such a disorder, but everything I've read about it, is me.

  • it was great metting you ...your a great person keep going you can get better.

  • You look beautiful hon don't even worry about it.

  • thank you i have bpd and felt alone please add me to facebook cyrus smith x

  • kayla, how did you finally accept you have bpd, and how did you decide you needed help. My wife has it :-( I'm very sad that she doesn't understand how or why she is hurting me and she won't get help... can you post something on your experience.

  • Hj Kayla.Great to meet you. I don't know anything about BPD but I suppose lots of people are suffering from it. Even without noticing it. I am much older than you and a musician as you are. But not a performer. Much more a music teacher, arranger and sometimes a composer. You are talented and this should give you all the strength you need to overcome your problems. I would allow me a smal piece of advice. Try and think a bit more about yourself than about others. You are the person that counts.

  • ITS GREAT THAT YOUR TIME TO MUSIC AND USING THAT AS COPING WITH THING MUSIC CAN BE THERAPY TO THE HEART I KINDA DO THE SAME THING AS WELL EXECPT I WRITE MUSIC AND POEMS I REALLY GOT A CHANCE TO TALK TO ANY ONE THAT BPD and if you would like to share a comment post me back!!!

  • wow..you look so beautiful..and gorgeous voice...!!

  • Thank you Kayla for such an ispirational video.

After 18 years of having multiple symptoms, I have finally been diagnosed with BPD. I was always having trouble with finding out what was wrong with me, but now, it's like a breath of fresh air. I can finally move on with my life, knowing that with this diagnoses I can finally start the track of getting better.

    Thank you so much!

  • i dont want to give you wrong advice but have you researched htp?? many issues stem from an inadequate amount of serotonin. this is NOT a SSRI! its a natural supplement you can take to increase your levels of serotonin.. check it out it could help.. otherwise good luck and thanks for sharing your story :)

  • Thank You.x

  • I love you, your very inspiring and can't wait for you to come to the states!

  • i'm a BPD and this video inspired me to continue on the good side of BPD and not be discouraged. :) I'm not soo much like those people who worsen the bad side of BPD.. i also play a lot of instruments and i like technology as well..

  • NowTHAT'S a great video

  • Very brave of you to share this, Kayla. You also give much hope to the people afflicted with BPD. And of course, you make cool music, very creative :-)

  • Hi Kayla~So happy to have found your video. What a great song; it's wonderful that you are able to use your voice and your talent to help make a difference. I'm almost 34 and although life w/BPD has gotten better with age it's still challenging. I wish you continued success. Stay strong. :-)

  • I wish my ex had the courage to face her illness like you do.

  • @howzah it takes time. some never can get it.

  • @howzah if you're aware your ex had BPD then I would suggest you learn more about BPD prior to saying she didn't have the courage to face her illness. A challenging thing about BPD is that unlike something that is more visible like diabetes & cancer (my respect goes out to them too), all that's visible is behaviour. This can cause others to think ppl who aren't coping as well with BPD lack courage. Thanks for sharing, Kayla. It's always encouraging to witness success stories.

  • @howzah Maybe you can help her.

  • Thank you :)

  • I am proud, I am proud of everyone who posts their stories about how it is to live with this illness.

  • Kayla is fab. It's very brave to speak out about one's mental health difficulties, but it is the only way we can fight stigma.

As a BPD sufferer myself, I'm so glad to see more people publically speaking about this illness, raising awareness and fighting stigma.

  • Thank you so much for posting this Kayla :)

It's so nice to hear positivity from other BPs.

You have a great voice, lots and lots of luck xxx

  • Very brave indeed. Thank you for this video. And best of luck with your single.

  • Thank you so much! I was just diagnoses with BPD and your courage and song are wonderful to hear today.

  • Hey, that is very brave to talk about BPD. I didn't really know about it. Nice video & music too.
