A big shit! At least in BCN you're not going to have so many problems for rent a flat like in other places as Paris (they ask you for hundreds of papers even if you're from EU).

Once you're in Spain, it just depends on how good you are at something to find a job.

And by the way, even just for visit the country US administration ask you thousands of papers in advance. And we don't have strikes to strikes to fire foreign workers as in UK.

It's illegal for Americans to work in Europe without a work permit, on a tourist visa. If Europeans do the same in the USA they are deported !

Yes, they are absolutely two different languages. It's a pretty common mistake. Unfortunately, lots of people think Catalan is a Spanish dialect. Catalan people HATE that!!

well they don't hate it without a reason, spanish has always been an imposition until 1960, when a great wave of spanish imigrants came to catalonia, then spanish started to be listened in the streets.

Absolutely, two different languages.. Although, Baconic, you must remember that not everybody has accurate knowledge of other countries' reality (they tend to look at themselves), they hardly speak other languages than theirs,,,
