  • when did they denied turbo ? this sound like it has one?

  • @roossi They didn't? Today's world rally cars do have a turbo. There are classes that don't e.g. the Super 2000 cars.

  • @endlosschleife yep I checked it out, seems like they are allowed to have small boost, up to 0,33 bars

  • Number 1 - forever!!!

  • Sweet Car!

  • I often wonder how much I would pay to co-drive in just one rally with one of the WRC guys, in one of these WRC cars.

  • Two legends in the same team

  • Loving that squirrel mincing sound

  • Rally drivers > F1 drivers

  • GOD DAMMIT THOSE BIRDS MAN, THOSE FUCKING BIRDS! THE ENTIRE VIDEO RUINED BY BIRD!

  • Great video man :)

  • Another great find Amjayes! My fave shape of all the Impreza WRC and arguably one of the most iconic modern rally cars.

Good work, keep the vidoes coming!

  • I tried thinking of something cooler than this.. I failed. Any ideas??

  • @VladBlok28 The same car, but with McRae behind the wheel. Thats the only way this could be improved. ;)

  • Thats a proper WRC car!

  • @secondhandnews1 It would save some time and money, turbos are not cheep nor are they the easyest to replace. I would replace a BOV rather than a turbo any day of the week.

  • @97GSXsilver On a road car that would be true, but this is WRC. The World Rally Cars here ran turbos at high pressure and with very aggressive anti lag: these cars a built for performance, not to preserve parts! ;)

  • Anyone who says thats a bov is wrong, that is so obviously compressor surge. its the wrc, buying and replacing turbos are the least of their worries...

  • Ok that guy needed a new BOV, the compressor surge from the blow off valve not working properly is killing that poor turbo... Damn shame

  • @97GSXsilver emm? workin just right. have u ever driven/been in a rally car? this turbo is not ment to last..

  • @xtrmbeast No I have not been or driven a rally car but I know enough about turbos to say that the turbo in the car can last when taken care of. I own two turboed vehicals, I race one and daily drive the other. How many turbos have you killed? I haven't had one die on me. I have had compressor surge before and it does not help spool time nor does it add HP a new bov is very much needed. It could also be that one of the lines on the bov that has wiggled its way off the bov.

  • @97GSXsilver U'r wrong in the whole line. In rally it's not used "killed the turbo",like (I guess ) by u'r street racing, cause that is just a part, that needs to be replaced sometimes:) And if we talk about this car, it does not have/use BOV, but the squeeking sound u hear is "wastegate" chatter (external wastegate). And that is not because of antilag sistems, that race car use. There is a lot of pages, that explain this stuf, read them.

  • @xtrmbeast It simply the fact that it sounds like compressor surge and it will cause the turbo to fail prematurly. Also I do not streetrace, I road coarse and auto x. I have never heard an external westgate sound like that. So how can it not have to use a BOV? I'm willing to learn. I know people don't always use BOVs but I seriously doubt that this car does not have a bov.

  • @97GSXsilver

Rallycars can`t use DV because of antilag . That "giggling, Wastegate chatter, CHIRPING, name it.. " sound comes when throttle valve is closed , pressure hits it and returns to turbo . on wikipedia... /Wastegate (Wastegate chatter myth)

    on wikipedia... /Turbocharger

  • @97GSXsilver

check rallycars dot kom under bangbang

  • @xtrmbeast Ok thank you very much, I will look at them later on tonight, I appriciate it and sorry if I sounded like an ass hole, its hard to talk though a few comments rather than face to face.

  • @xtrmbeast Thank you very much for the info. I don't mind being wrong when it comes to cars, if I don't stay open minded than you start falling behind very quickly

  • @97GSXsilver Sorry 4 delay. Yeah it's hard to talk over here. Yeah, no problem. We all are "tabula rasa" when born;) Then we learn. Well, for every day car with turbo, we surely wouldn't put bangbang (for me its funny cause if u read it poorly, u get gang bang :)))) ) in it.. would cause stock exhaust to malfunction and brake in less than 100km, and turbo wouldn't last much longer. Oh yeah, I forgot 2 answer you.. didn't brake my turbo on my evo 8 RS, had it stock (ceramic/titanium)

  • @97GSXsilver ..second part of post: ..with internal wastegate. Thou we had it remaped, ralliart, 315hp (like u get with restrictor (group N regulations), it only boosted 1.7 bar, so it wasn't to stressful for it. must go now..l8er

  • @97GSXsilver Oh and a BOV would negate the effect of the anti-lag, hence why there isn't one on there. ;)

  • @tbtstt It makes sence and I can see why parts are not as important as times for the Championship. I appreicate all the info you all have shown me. Thankyou and I will take what I have learned and try to expand my info on cars and try to use what I have learned and apply it to applications where it makes sence to do so.

  • @97GSXsilver No worries, glad to help! :)

  • That is the only scooby I would consiter owning. The rest I can care less.

  • maestro

  • The blue paint and gold rims is such a awesome look.

  • What happend to your main channel amjayes?

  • Isn't about time we get over the death of past stars, & enjoy the days of the current ones?!

  • I love seeing the old school handling. Alot less back brake, alot less resources needed. I oddly treat an 80s subaru like an animal. The early impreza is closer related than many don't know.

  • 4.25 nice flick ;)

  • 4:25 - perfect..!

  • @MRmad4tar Flickin' it like a boss :D

  • My favourite rally car of all time.

  • Great video. Nice sound. Good to see them both in action. Thanks mate :)

  • Beast Of a Video!!

  • What is that stange whistling noise when the car approach a corner?

  • @tttpietje560 turbo i think, but please dont quote me on that

  • @nos97 Thats correct, its air flowing through the turbo the wrong way (i.e. back through the compressor section of the turbo).

  • Comment removed

  • @QuertrGTRR Its not a blow off valve. These cars run without a BOV as it would negate the effect of the ALS. The "twittering" noise you hear is air flowing the wrong way through the turbo.

  • great footage!!!!!

  • Flipper is coming!!!

  • even to this day Richard Burns's death still saddens me...

  • They are using stud tyres?

  • After 2004 WRC got really really boring.

  • @nos97 Yep.

  • Amazing, those were the days...bring back so many memories.

  • thanks for this!

  • Thank you for upload.....very nice!!!RIP Burns!
