I think the tempo changes, or rubato for all the music nerds, are what make the song. Satch played it rubato & you played it great, with lovely feeling. & no offense to natbassdude but do not EVER use a hair bobble to cover up poor muting technique. It will fuck up your playing forever. Just be really observant about where the noise is coming from & adjust your hands accordingly. That ones for the ever increasing bobble brigade, not you 5add9.

@vubear Their are certain times you have to have a hair band or some other muting equipment if you want it perfectly clean, since it's more or less physically impossible to mute without one.

@ErlingMK I get where you're coming from, it is hard but it is in no way impossible. This is a good example of left hand muting. For the most part the index finger of the left hand should take care of most of the muting on all of the strings. I use the heel of my right hand to mute the low E when the left is playing the A string & higher. When it feels impossible just remember Satch doesn't use hair bobbles. Just be hyper critical of your playing & record yourself often. It's a real eye opener.
