I thank God for this video. Nobody wants to hear truth or even envision it. I was saved after watching this movie. People need to know and understand the consequences of dying without the saving knowledge of Christ. I never had nightmares about it, even though I was seven years old when I saw it. This is the creepiest piece of fear mongering I've seen in a while. I was subjected to ideas like this also as a child and as a result I turned against Christianity. In my mind no god that would treat it's creatures this way is worth worshiping. I remember watching this at vacation bible school when I was a kid. I always thought it was little cheesy but never scary. Salems Lot made me way more scared to go to hell than this. In fairness though special effects had advanced alot between '74 and '82. The a/v sync is so bad on this it's like watching an old karate movie. I also don't remember the preacher at the beginning looking like Colonel Sanders.
Salem's Lot was MUCH more scary as a kid!!! I have forgotten about that movie. The scene when the head vampire attacked that guy in the jail cell was the best.
This film is severe mental, emotional abuse and the worst kind of brainwashing. As a child at Bob Jones Elementary school, I was forced to watch this film. NOTHING excuses the horrific psyche damage of forcing little children to watch something like this, and saying, "See? THIS is going to happen to YOU!!" I suffered through nightmares for years as a result, to put it mildly.

During my lifelong quest for God I had tried everything within my power to reach Him, but could never convince myself to believe. I honestly opened my heart to the Lord and still was unable to believe in Him. I tried everything that I could humanly do, yet the only way I could have believed was if I simply pretended to believe.

I have certainly not -made my choice-. I am unable to honestly choose god. The world makes the most sense and shows how beautiful it really is only when ancient religious claims are looked upon as what they are - ancient text written by men. Only when I understand that god is imaginary does everything make perfect sense. Only when religious reasoning is not part of my understanding of reality am I truly honest with myself.
I am unable to truly believe in god or satan. I can only select god because it seems like the right thing to do, but I can not convince myself to believe in him. I am unable to believe in god. I simply can not believe.
But I lied when I accepted Jesus. As hard as I tried I could not bring myself to believe in something that was unbelievable to me. God, of course, saw through my mask. He knew I had lied. Which means that I was never saved while I was on earth. I could never really choose between God and Satan because I could not convince myself to believe in either one of them. I could only select God, but not truly believe in Him.
I chose God because, as they say, I have nothing to lose except eternity in Heaven. But deep down in my heart I did not believe anything religion claimed to be the Truth. In reality I was really just an atheist.
It was not my fault that I could not believe. It was beyond my control.

Wow this movie brings back some horrific memories. I remember I wasn't more than maybe 5 or 6 years old (i'm on my son's account right now I'm a 32 year old woman. lol) and my mom and dad took me to see this movie at a local church who was showing it one night to the congregation. I remember crying my eyes out and burying my face in my mom's arm, covering my face through the whole movie.

I believe in the Bible and in Hell, but I don't believe scare tactics like this movie lead to true conversion. If you scare people enough, they will do anything. They will get caught up in the moment and as soon as the perceived danger has passed will return to their accustomed way of doing things. It is a change of the heart, not a mind trip that brings about salvation. Besides modern movies like Saw contain much more scary images.
Back in the 70's, the "Ormond Brothers" distributed this film. My dad rented it and showed it on the courthouse lawn during Halloween in the late 70's. Absolutely awesome to be able to see it again.

I thank God for this video. Nobody wants to hear truth or even envision it. I was saved after watching this movie. People need to know and understand the consequences of dying without the saving knowledge of Christ. I never had nightmares about it, even though I was seven years old when I saw it. Why should I have nightmares when I know that God has saved me from this damnation?

If you're a true Christian, and not a follower of Oprah's Gospel™, you'll know that Hell is as real as Heaven is. Jesus Himself said so, and to call Him a liar is to accuse God of sin. But, this is not the way to broach the subject, and can easily turn people away from Him. It's as stupid and insensitive as making children sit through "An Inconvenient Truth" in math class; don't give kids nightmares to push your agenda - whether they be of 5000 degree flames, or of sea levels rising 20 feet.

This is the creepiest piece of fear mongering I've seen in a while. I was subjected to ideas like this also as a child and as a result I turned against Christianity. In my mind no god that would treat it's creatures this way is worth worshiping. I believe it's all rubbish and it's a waste of life to spend it in fear....and yes, you can be a moral and good person without Christ. Think for yourselves.

I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, but this is corny.....as you continue to watch the film, its rather funny how all the people "playing the Israelites" are obviously Gentiles.....very fair skinned and their "attire" is to "perfuct" ......funny, but its the best they could do at at the time I guess with limited resources. Bottom line though is that Hell is real, but no need to fear it if you know Jesus.

I remember watching this at vacation bible school when I was a kid. I always thought it was little cheesy but never scary. Salems Lot made me way more scared to go to hell than this. In fairness though special effects had advanced alot between '74 and '82. The a/v sync is so bad on this it's like watching an old karate movie. I also don't remember the preacher at the beginning looking like Colonel Sanders.

This film is severe mental, emotional abuse and the worst kind of brainwashing. As a child at Bob Jones Elementary school, I was forced to watch this film. NOTHING excuses the horrific psyche damage of forcing little children to watch something like this, and saying, "See? THIS is going to happen to YOU!!" I suffered through nightmares for years as a result, to put it mildly.
Any "religion" that resorts to scare tactics and brainwashing to win converts, is not a religion, but a CULT.

But if you believe not, think what will happen to you if you found it right and it is late for you to come to Jesus Christ for salvation. Watch it again friend. I was a child seeing this and yes it scared me THANK GOD it did however GOD speaks to you rather in a movie a car wreck a death of your child or a rainbow if it works then AMEN I seen this at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Grnvl, SC in mid 70's with Jack Hyles there I can still remember thinkin at such a young age "GOD please dont let my sister go to hell" she died just 2 yrs ago when I last saw here right before her death I asked her did she know GOD she said yes I say thank you GOD for HEAVEN!!!

The world makes the most sense and shows how beautiful it really is only when ancient religious claims are looked upon as what they are - ancient text written by men. Wow this movie brings back some horrific memories. I remember I wasn't more than maybe 5 or 6 years old (i'm on my son's account right now I'm a 32 year old woman. lol) and my mom and dad took me to see this movie at a local church who was showing it one night to the congregation. I remember crying my eyes out and burying my face in my mom's arm, covering my face through the whole movie.

God is a God of justice. he will punish those sinners that reject him and reward those who accepted him. It's not cruelty, its Justice.

God is cruel if he sends humans to ETERNAL torment for some 80 years of sin. Infinite torment for finite sins? come on heaven may exist but hell dosen't

Your a fool if you think that hell doesnt exist. Read your BIBLE and see there are more versus about hell than Heaven. also when your reading that go too John and read 3:16 and know that you can be saved

God will throw all those who refuse to believe in His Son Jesus Christ for salvation. It is just fair because Jesus Christ died for your sin on the cross and you reject His cure for sin. Think it over.

Everybody deserves a second chance. I can understand that he does not want anybody who has sinned to enter heaven, but does he have to send them to hell? now that sounds unfair.

Sounds unfair but God declared it. Everybody sinned so the only way is through His Son Jesus Christ who knew no sin to become the perfect sacrifice on the cross so the guilty can be declared innocent since nobody can save themselves.

I believe in the Bible and in Hell, but I don't believe scare tactics like this movie lead to true conversion. If you scare people enough, they will do anything. They will get caught up in the moment and as soon as the perceived danger has passed will return to their accustomed way of doing things. It is a change of the heart, not a mind trip that brings about salvation. Besides modern movies like Saw contain much more scary images.

Back in the 70's, the "Ormond Brothers" distributed this film. My dad rented it and showed it on the courthouse lawn during Halloween in the late 70's. Absolutely awesome to be able to see it again.

Allah isn´t the name of a prophet. It´s the name that muslims give to God. It´s the same God that christians and jews worship. The only thig that changes is the name. Even the Coran admits Jesus as a prophet. Besides that tolerance lesson you should learn what you´re talking about before make yourself look like a fundamentalist ignorant.
Oh! And yes, hell is a real place, and it´s in your mind.
