Personally, I think both VA's are fine. Hell, they sound near identical to me. The difference is that Ryan sounds a bit more hyper, and Jason sounds a bit more youthful.

Still, having missed out on most of the 5th- and 6th-gen Sonic titles, I have to go with Jason.

Ryan for me for a few simple reasons. One: I grew up with sonic, and I would like to see him with a voice actor I truly think fits him. Two: The sonic adventure series is quite possibly my favorite line of games ever, and I would like the voice actor that he had in his prime, but I may be getting swayed by the game's awesomeness. 3: I just think he sounds more fitting, Jason sounds like hes trying to hard to be more mature like sega keeps doing to sonic for some reason.

Well, I'm relatively new to the Sonic fanbase, but...being an actress myself, I think Ryan is better cast as Sonic. His voice is more spirited and youthful, with a slight undertone of cockiness - and that matches Sonic's personality exactly. Ryan really does a superb job of making the character believable for his audience. Jason's voice is slightly deeper, and a little too mature-sounding. I don't think he's a bad actor, just not appropriate for the role of Sonic.

i'm not a sonic fan, but i still think that ryan drummond is, though not a god or anything, MUCH better than jason griffith. also, about the two voices sounding similar. i aggree with them, but ONLY on the basic style of their voices for sonic. as far as acting goes, the two are nothing alike. mostly, the acting defines the actor, not their similarities to other voicers. still, that's no excuse for saying "l0lz, n0 wai, ryan s0wndz n0th1ng like j@s0n cuz j@ason sux balz!"
