@AnimeGirl2120 I think it is "Oh my prayer" not oh "my player". Since the letter "L" doesn't exist in japanese alphabet nor is it used in their vocabulary, it was something brought from abroad. So of course there was no known pronounciation like our "L"

Hence they started to pronounce the letter "R" as "L" in english words (though slightly changed) and vice versa.

I've been making on and off attempts to read the VN's. Im sorry, but so far VN's are just absolutely boring in most parts. What drives me is the fact that I'm a huge fan of Higurashi and that people tell me that the story gets faster after the second story. The thing I liked about the Higurashi novel I read was that when they aren't talking about the mystery they are doing other interesting things usually. In Umineko, the novel tells the reader about the most trivial things that are going on.

I've only read the visual novels so I'm not familiar with the anime, but I think it's nice that people who wish to see O7th Expansion's latest series can enjoy it in a format without the attention to detail required to make each episode solvable. To some extent it would likely benefit the creators more than the general fan-base since this opens it up to a wider audience, but all the same. Plus this is an amazing song that sounds like Kinzo is singing OH DESIRE and therefore wins the internet...!

@candychandelier All the people who say that is was dissapointing have read the Visual Novels first. Apparently the anime left out several important parts to the story (probably due to a short time slot) while the manga actually changed those important parts. Now I haven't finished Umineko yet so I can't say weather I liked it better then Higurashi, but so far to me it's very suspensful and complex which is why it's good.

@candychandelier i didnt read the manga and im still kinda disappointed.

i expected it to be something like higurashi (not the same ofcourse but something similar) and even though its like higurashi in many ways, its missing some important elements which made higurashi awesome for me, like freakyness (like in higurashi when the eyes turn into cat eyes in chapter 1)

and WTF moments (even though most umineko deaths are cruel they arent WTF, nothing beats rena chopping an axe in the guys head)

Aside from the art style, in which I find this one to be much more elegant, the cat-eyed thing and the WTF moments never phased me. This one also had more character development than Higurashi. So, in my opinion of course not general, the only thing that freaked me out was the nail-torture and the scratching of the neck. |D
