  • Divina!

  • Nettamente superiore Mirella Freni! come sempre..

  • 25 yo male....ex military...this brings me to my knees

  • Thumbs up if shawshank redemption brought you here.

  • Is this the earliest recorded version?

    Either way, its absolutely beautiful.

  • chickenskin

  • c'est la version que je prefere....

  • 5 persone evidentemente non hanno un' anima.

  • Non, je ne me lasserai jamais

  • I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don't wanna know. Some things are best left unsaid. I like to think it was something so beautiful it can't be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. It tell you, those voiced soared higher and farther than a person in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage, and every last prisoner in Shawshank felt free.

  • @Lassannn Great film, great music. :)

  • this is how you would want any an angel too sing to you

  • ESPLENDIDO!!

  • Simply beautiful!

  • Peace, absolute Peace

  • Freni/ Scotto-- so beautiful! How can people be bitchy about such wonderful artists and such beautiful singing.

  • enough said!

  • could you imagine this in austrian or german???

  • +++++

  • How could anyone dislike something that transcends description of words, emotion not to mention all that it evokes within your soul- all goodness. It reminds me of my times in Italy visiting my family and seeing what Mozart saw beautiful sun, people and culture thousands of years old. Too be free fromt he chains of sadness, from slavery from all the evils that humans do throughout history - this is like a pantheon of emotions which illustrate goodness and all that is worth fighting for

  • I think I prefer this version. It had such a perfect tone and pace. I cant stop having chills. <3

  • Delicioso.

  • Beautiful. This is one of the best versions of the Sull aria duet, as beautiful as the Gundula Janowitz & Edith Mathis version on the Karl Bohm Figaro recording (used in the 1994 movie Shawshank Redemption). They could have just as well used this version from the Duets album LP in the 1970's with Renata Scotto & Mirella Freni. Here Scotto sings the Countess part & Freni Susanna, which she sang often times on stage.

  • The better side of humanity.

  • The best pronunciation of all versions.

  • @bartnauta they are both italian.that is why!!

  • @dulCISSIMA1 not only that it's in Italian like all opera and musical notation :) not to mention the violin, the piano, and the modern guitar so you could say you are rite in more ways than one- but my above comment and this one including this one won't be popular :)

  • j'entends des merveilles

  • 150 seconds for forgetting world wickednesses .Thank you ladies

  • This is wonderfull, at last sung in Italian. A bit slow, but I love it nevertheless.

  • Believe it or not, by far the best version of this I have heard, in terms of quality & vocal tone of the singers......The soundtrack to The Shawshank Redemption. I bought it strictly for the piece. And no it doesn't sound like the movie record player with all the pops and scratches. Just totally clear & beautiful.

  • @gjc82071 This is good but I like Leyla Gencer and Mirella Freni version better...

  • this is awesome :X love it... and in "Shawshank Redemption" this song fits so good !!!

    FTW - W.A.M -

  • I think this is the most beautiful piece of music

that mankind had ever created. Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

  • Literally Amazing

  • we've enjoyed shawshank redemption very much! enjoyyourday

  • Splendida voce ... aria bella...grazie...

  • Beautifull singing! Heavenly!

  • Do you guys remember what Red said about this in the Shawshank Redemption? He's right. This song can make a prisoner feel free.

  • @martythetickler It's the number 9 as the most relaxing music ever. Go check out the channel vsauce and you'll learn more.

  • Angelic

  • A sad thing such a beautiful piece of music has to be responded to with such a shit-for-brains comment.

  • What makes you think I would even argue with such a deluded mind as yours? Idiot

  • Price, Bumbry, Verrett, Arroyo, Anderson, Norman...and millions more! Brainless! You deserve a lobothomy!

  • This is the most stupid comment ever! LOL...You're such a loser!

  • Black music is so energetic and dynamic. There are a lot of different tastes in music. I particularly admire music in general. African music bring to me an energetic feeling I haven't found in any other music.

  • Whites exterminated? That's bullshit! Do you know something about genetic? You are black. No matter how white you are your ancient ancesters are african! The difference is the color of the skin and the environment where you develop your behavior. Inside we're all the same!

  • Who'd you learn that from? Your high-school genetics teacher? These things have no scientific basis and are just theories. Of course, you have a rather low IQ and are quick to follow the general fads and zeitgeist, so I only expect as much from sheep such as yourself.

  • By the way I learned to read at 2. I totally managed trigonometry at 6. I finished mi high scholl at 12. I speak 7 languages and my doctor says I'm 160 IQ. I'm not white and I'm really proud to be like that. I have many friends of different races...

  • And they think in the same way I do...Maybe the only reason you feel proud is to be white and that's so sad! You're no superior because of that, In fact you demonstrate your own insecurities!

  • This is the joy of singing. This is Mozart !Certainly not to slow. It;s perfect. With perfect performers !

    Hans NL

  • fantastic....just listening and forget about hard life

  • the voices are as angels....i love this aria...it is SO beautiful!!!

  • Slowest performance ever!

  • ----------- WOW -------------- !

  • I love this aria. Did sing it otfen earlier in my younger years, with a great lady who had a voice like angel. My teacher.

  • What Mozart wanted! Thanks

  • ..ma è lento...

  • a fine version of this piece glad i found it thanks.

  • Beautiful rendition. Fantastic ladies both. Never knew of this pairing - but pleased that I do now!

  • Freni Divina!

  • ...è il famoso "Effetto Renata".

  • Dici?

    temperamento!!!
