Why is Van der Graf Generator the only band that anyone has uploaded to youtube? I remember some stunning performances from so many other bands including King Crimson at 3 o'clock in the morning and Barclay James Harvest who were mindblowing.
T-Rex got top billing at a progressive festival?!? Um, okay ...
Great performance. Killer would have been manic live, and After the Flood is so much more epic. I've always thought the studio recording of Man-Erg to be definitive and never liked their live versions as much.
In the early days T.Rex were a very respectable band and not particularly commercial. They took a lot of heckling at the beginning of their set when Marc Bolan opened by saying something like "I'm Marc Bolan, youve probably seen me on Top Of The Pops."
Agreed. Though they'd had enormous hits with "Hot Love" and "Get It On" by that time and were England's top band, they could still fit in proggy festivals because of the lengthy, Hendrixian guitar jams Bolan dished out on "Elemental Child", "Jewel", and the extended "Get It On". True, they were never really "prog" like Yes or ELP, but in '71 they could still just fit a bill that also included VDGG.
did the faces play ...and yes t rex got heckled but held their cool and did a good set if i remember all a hazy good acid !!!

@billwhittaker:
Yes, the Faces played, fronted by Rod Stewart.
T.Rex were good too.

@bonezdubstep:
I don't have any recordings of the other bands at Weeley.
Barclay James Harvest were a clear highlight for me also. They were brilliant. I remember they performed with an orchestra.

Check out my other videos for some really good live versions of Man-Erg, including a great PH solo version.
