A MIDI of this was used in the famous Game Maker game Jumper. That game used a lot of stolen video game music actually, which I'm sure the author regrets now that he's making more original games.
Man...40% worked on PD64 and they still managed to do a royal fuck-up of PDZ. In their defense yes, the game was rushed and such for a launch title but still, nearly every PD fan has denounced PDZ as an abomination. Good thing I still got my N64 and PD with it. ^_^
None of the games Rare has been putting out are really high in standards such as Goldeneye007 or Perfect Dark. Far as I'm concerned, they haven't put out anything as legendary ever since the Nintendo days. Even their Donkey Kong games on the SNES were awesome, especially music-wise.
That was when PDZ came out, I'm talking about the present, workers left the team and with the financial crisis they had to fire a little more people, and PDZ online wasn't really fun, but don't worry, I bet the PD remake online will be awesome :D
Those 4 games sucked, and if they make a Perfect Dark 2 they better not screw it up like they did with Zero, Zero totally raped everything Perfect Dark was, and about the team, no, there's no one from the 64 days anymore :,( they all left to form new teams or either retired, the only one left is Grant Kirkhope and that's because he's the music composer and cos he's not rare-exclusive, being a composer anyone can hire him.
But at least we're getting Perfect Dark 64 on the XBLA :D
U knw I've always wondered Y Xbox360 and/or ps3 (I'm a nerd and have both consoles :( ) Never buy rights for old classics from the N64 for download! I mean they do some games but nothing big, the likes of PERFECT DARK, ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME/ MAJORA'S MASK, GOLDEN EYE etc etc, would be AWESOME! I mean its not like Nitendo is gonna give a fuck, they could make a lot of money from games well past they're sell by date! EH WE CAN DREAM :(
you can or will be able to get most of those games on the wii, of course nintendo will care if other companies use their products to make money, they are not a charity.
however perfect dark may be one of the games to be seen on the 360 since microsoft (currently) own rare, it would be awesome to have it online lag free and with more players.
Grant Kirkhope, who composed this music, still works on Rare. His newest job was Viva Pinata, and he's composing the music for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Don't dismiss him yet!
Rareware made both Perfect Dark and 007. That's why the music has similarities. Rare's run on N64 was like my favorite time. Why did they have to go to Microsoft :(
This is one of favorite songs from any game, seriously. I always loved the smoothe bass line, and the haunting tone really set the mood for the whole game.
Just good old day.

Mr. Kirkhope, you were Rare's final gem that distinguished Rare from everything else. There is no hope for the once brilliant Rare anymore.

my ass dude, then how come pdz got a 9.0 from gamespot and ign?its that good...
SpartanVo7 2 years ago
@SpartanVo7 There is a much bigger difference between 9.8 and 9.0 than just '8.9% better'. Compared to the original, PDZ is just inferior.

He means that Rare now sucks, they make bad games now cos they're now a different team,
the guys that gave us great games like banjo-kazooie, GoldenEye and Perfect Dark left Rare to form new teams.
HenryTouchdown 2 years ago
Rare is good now too.they made good games like pdz, viva pinata. Also some of the people are still there that made n64 games.

Thats what I also adored from PD :P, some of the instruments made it feel just like James bond on a space peyote trip or something
The chimes heard throughout the song are the perfect example :P
