Living Life is my favorite song by anyone.

But I think it sounds better with a piano, it's more chaotic and the emotional peaks are more intense. Here it feels like he tried to copy Eels cover of his own song by mimicking their pace. Every cover I've heard of it is amazing though.

When I see him shaking, I think 2 things. ONE: it's so sad that he was once young and relatively healthy, now he's getting older, and has various mental illnesses; everything good must come towards an end. TWO: Despite his age, mental state, and everything else, he still has so much heart, soul, and conviction, and yet he's still "living life." When I reach his age, I hope to feel that way as well. Excuse my language, but it's like a big "FUCK YOU" to Father Time, and maybe even Death himself.

That shaking could be attributed to nerves, holding the mic, remembering the lyrics, the crowd, atmosphere, anything.

I've known Daniel Johnston since 1986. I've always thought he was talented, despite his personal problems. Watching him in this video, it's clear that he's not in the best of health. Yet, his talent still emerges beautifully.

When i watch this, i realize how much i hate the commercial music scene, where music is made and sold like chocolate bars, without any trace of chocolate in it, wrapped in a nice and heavily branded pack. Thank you Daniel, for being fucking true to the core.

Single most amazing inspirational HUMAN in my opinion. Saw him live few months back and he played this. Daniel is so wonderful and when his time passes there will be a lot of sad faces... especially this one.

I don't know much about this guy. Heard the Eels version of this song and found this. I agree, he doesn't look as fit to perform as maybe he once did. He doesn't sing BADLY at all, though. It probably means a lot to him and his fans that he still peforms them though. Rock on Johnston =)
