Hey Joe I have a VIXIA Hf R11 and it has 32GB Internal Memory I save on 'cause my sd cards don't record enough MB/s for my camera. Also my camera doesn't have a horse she for a mic but I bought a stabilizer that did and I wanted to know if you could talk about mics soon. Cheers. :)
what do you suggest for shooting in hot areas? I am all set for batteries i have 2 genuine Canon batteries in a battery grip for my T2i, it's a god send and i can shoot forever. i just need to learn how to combat thermal issues now and i'm good to go.
My neighbor used to make lots of videos back in the 70's and he as a bunch of old accessories which he gave me. One of them is used as a steadycam without hands, so your core makes the stability better. And for sound recording I like to use the Zoom H4N and the ntg-2 shotgun mic.
As a photographer, when I'm in the field, a backpack gets in my way. I prefer shoulder bags or no bag, it allows easy and quick access to my equipment. Backpacks are great for storage and travel I guess. I use a Domke F-6
I recently got a sweet deal on a 32 GB Class 10 card from sandisk, that way I only have to use one card and i won't have any loose cards which I can lose, cus my 32 is always in either my camera or in my laptop, before editing I immediately transfer them to my harddrive, I like the 32 because I also tend to forget to remove footage from my card and with the 32 I won't be out of memory space. Great timing aswel, cus when I ordered it I broke my 16gb and lost my 8 gb lol
Thank you so much for doing these tutorials Joe, they are so helpful. I was hoping that later on down the tutorial road that you might get into editing software and how you do the subscribe thing at the end of your videos.. If that made any sense.
where I work we use panasonic hpx and a panasonic hvx. I definately agree the 16 gb cards are nice cause you get around 40-45 mins of shooting depending on your settings and then you can pop it out transfer and then pop it back in. a 64 gb is nice though when you won't have time to stop or you have to do something like a 2 hour concert and it has to be one continuous shot otherwise you have to switch cards on the fly and that sucks. also backing up your footage twice is a good idea.
@WhoTheHellsJoeNation I feel like it would feel very different, Im thinking to make very you type of videos, your my role model, and you know better so im gonna probably go with your advice.
@itsthatguyyahh Dont get it! HDSLR is where its at now! For the same price you can get your hands ona a T2i... you will have more creative freedom with a HDSLR
@JoeNationTV I'm getting quite the nerdgasm about it, also bought the "Spider Steady Shoulder Mount" for very cheap! In the UK granted but it was £69.99. It's foldable with extra screws for monitor and light. Thought you might be interested. Also talk about your microphones/sound equipment if you can! Thank's Joe!
Hey Joe! I just got a Nikon D3100 today with a basic 18-55mm lens. I know that you use Canons more, but your advise still is helpful and I look forward to more of your tutorials. Thanks a bunch! :)
D: JOEE!!! make those tutorials longer, like 7 to 10 minute or somethin! Maybe it's hard but still! I reeeeally love this new addition as I am an aspiring cinematographer and really enjoy advice from a talented person like you.

I have the Canon T2i i'm looking to upgrade to a 5D so i don't have to deal with the cropped sensor or slow CS speeds. i carry a 50mm, 75-300mm, and the 18-55mm kit lens in my bag and i have UV and polarizing filters too as well as lens hoods and I carry a mono pod & tripod too
