This guy never talked about the negatives of this van. such as: the ergonaomics are laid out poorly and this van falls short on entertainment features. Other than that this is a great van. However if you want an all around good minivan i suggest the Chrysler Town & Country or Dodge Grand Caravan. However, since Chrysler went bankrupt they had to cut some costs so the fit and finish may not be the best. Thats why i have a Volkswagen Routan. Its basically a Chrysler but a little better
i have an 07 not 2 bad but the road noise is the worst. when u drive on the highway with the windows closed it feels like your sitting outside i would not buy another 1 thank god i leased it or i would be severly pissed off
i got mine a 1999 with 120thousend but i love it it has 170 thousend miles i dont know how far theyll go but mine drives like brand knew one i had fords and chevys and all i had was nothing but problems

I think the Chrysler Town and Country and the Dodge Grand Caravan are better than the Honda, plus they look alot cooler looking than the Honda Odyssey
It is a very nice van. A friend of mine has it. The only thing i dont like is that Honda did not really change the design very much. Looks kind off Outdated. But very reliable and roomy
Just bought a 2008 Honda Odyssey (left over on the lot & only had 20 miles on her). I love it love it love it! Not only did my wife and I get an amazing deal on it ($11,500 off msrp), but we are happier about this purchase then the last 2 cars we have bought.
Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone with kids, or want an alternative to an SUV.

I'm glad u brougth this subject, That is the rubber gasket. it supposed to help block some exterior noises coz i have one also though not considered defect. I got rid of my 07 Odessey. Remember the Original Japanese made odyssey was sold in the US when it was first introduced in the 90's
with all 4 sedan like doors. The 2nds generation became a mini-van and it's no longer a real Odyssey. The real Odyssey sttill sells in japan lot nicer in all aspects.
For sure, I don't dispute that the Japanese model looks more like and nicer than the Mercedes( that looks similar). After all, I think the Toyota has a better build quality, I like this van, but so much noise, the back doors seem not solid fixed closed while driving or the seats, I don't know and not sure...not if Honda has a quality control department...shameful...
In ur case probably driver side rubber gasket not pressed between body and door, not pressed tightly, blocks water from getting in but not enuf to block noise, yet could be quality control, but not considered defect so were out of luck
I have a 2008 EX-L, and I haven't noticed any whistling at all from it. Granted, we just bought it and it only has around 200 miles on it, but I've had it up to 80 mph and the van is very quite. I'd take it in.
my mom has a odyssey touring its kinda hard to get in and out of the third row and im 4 ft 5 in. its really really hard with 4 kids in and out of it to plus my parents wich is 2+4=6 people in our van
In Europe we call minivans MPVs (multi purpose vehicles) and most of them have swinging doors on the back and they have 2 seats in the front(as normal),3 seats in the 2nd row and 2 seats in the third row,the middle seat in the 2nd row is full size(like all the other seats in the car) and is never a tiny little seat like the odyssey has
You Should take the Grand Caravan out of your options, and keep the Sienna and Oddysey in, it all depends on what kind of car you want. If your looking for entertainment, Sienna. If your looking for quality and performance, Oddysey,But if your trying to entertain a Family your best bet is, Grand Caravan/Town and Country/VW Rougan.

If you're the original owner (buying new) and style is subjective, then why not give the Caravan a look? Lifetime powertrain warranty (will mean a few trips to dealer for engine and transmission), lower price, more aggressive dealer incentive/deals, means you get a "newer" minivan for your money.
With above said, I would still get Odyssey due to personal taste and preference.

Maybe you should try out a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. I'm not saying they are the best cause I actually think Honda/Toyota/Nissan are, but I got this Dodge cause it had alot of nice things on it and my kids love the Sirius TV. Mine is fully loaded with the 4.0L motor and it already has 17,000 miles and at one point I didn't change the oil for almost 7,000 miles and it still ran great.
err you should change your oil. yes it will run even if you dont change your oil, but your killing your engine, car's life and reliability. USE SYNTHETIC TOO. much more enviornmentally friend yet protects engine MUCH better.

Again, Chrysler isn't getting good reviews. Quality? Even 300c interiors have unfit plastics here and there. Powerful engine. Um no. Unless you get top-of-line 4L engine, you don't get much power. Competitor's engines are 3.5L with only 10hp/torque differences. Therefore, its not fuel efficient. Innovative trans? It's an ordinary 4 or 6speed (depending on trim). They lag behind so threw in gimmicks like stow&go(which honda had before) and reverse seating(mitsubishi had in 90s)

This guy never talked about the negatives of this van. such as: the ergonaomics are laid out poorly and this van falls short on entertainment features. Other than that this is a great van. However if you want an all around good minivan i suggest the Chrysler Town & Country or Dodge Grand Caravan. However, since Chrysler went bankrupt they had to cut some costs so the fit and finish may not be the best. Thats why i have a Volkswagen Routan. Its basically a Chrysler but a little better

Just bought a 2008 Honda Odyssey (left over on the lot & only had 20 miles on her). I love it love it love it! Not only did my wife and I get an amazing deal on it ($11,500 off msrp), but we are happier about this purchase then the last 2 cars we have bought.
Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone with kids, or want an alternative to an SUV.
We have the EX-L model.

I'm glad u brougth this subject, That is the rubber gasket. it supposed to help block some exterior noises coz i have one also though not considered defect. I got rid of my 07 Odessey. Remember the Original Japanese made odyssey was sold in the US when it was first introduced in the 90's
with all 4 sedan like doors. The 2nds generation became a mini-van and it's no longer a real Odyssey. The real Odyssey sttill sells in japan lot nicer in all aspects.

For sure, I don't dispute that the Japanese model looks more like and nicer than the Mercedes( that looks similar). After all, I think the Toyota has a better build quality, I like this van, but so much noise, the back doors seem not solid fixed closed while driving or the seats, I don't know and not sure...not if Honda has a quality control department...shameful...

In ur case probably driver side rubber gasket not pressed between body and door, not pressed tightly, blocks water from getting in but not enuf to block noise, yet could be quality control, but not considered defect so were out of luck

I have a 2008 EX-L, and I haven't noticed any whistling at all from it. Granted, we just bought it and it only has around 200 miles on it, but I've had it up to 80 mph and the van is very quite. I'd take it in.

In Europe we call minivans MPVs (multi purpose vehicles) and most of them have swinging doors on the back and they have 2 seats in the front(as normal),3 seats in the 2nd row and 2 seats in the third row,the middle seat in the 2nd row is full size(like all the other seats in the car) and is never a tiny little seat like the odyssey has

You Should take the Grand Caravan out of your options, and keep the Sienna and Oddysey in, it all depends on what kind of car you want. If your looking for entertainment, Sienna. If your looking for quality and performance, Oddysey,But if your trying to entertain a Family your best bet is, Grand Caravan/Town and Country/VW Rougan.

Just because it has a table and two dvd players it doesn't mean it is better. Sure, it entertains a family of 5 or 6, but can the car keep them safe just as much as the odyssey or sienna?
Personally I would go With the odyssey, but I have been in a sienna before, they are both decent cars. i would rather choose a van that would be safer for my family than choose a van that has entertainment purposes only and isn't as safe. Safety comes first.

If you're the original owner (buying new) and style is subjective, then why not give the Caravan a look? Lifetime powertrain warranty (will mean a few trips to dealer for engine and transmission), lower price, more aggressive dealer incentive/deals, means you get a "newer" minivan for your money.
With above said, I would still get Odyssey due to personal taste and preference.

Maybe you should try out a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. I'm not saying they are the best cause I actually think Honda/Toyota/Nissan are, but I got this Dodge cause it had alot of nice things on it and my kids love the Sirius TV. Mine is fully loaded with the 4.0L motor and it already has 17,000 miles and at one point I didn't change the oil for almost 7,000 miles and it still ran great.

That is so untrue! The Sienna is like a Lexus inside while the Odyssey is like a Honda Accord inside. Not that its bad because the Accord dose have a nice interior but if I wanted a luxurious interior I would buy a Sienna because a Lexus like interior would beat an Accord interior. Though the lower line Siennas aren't luxurious. I am talking about the Sienna XLE and Limited models. And also Honda added bluetooth on the 2008 Accord and Odyssey.

The name for the gray Sienna is Slate Metallic. You are entitled to have your own opinion about Hondas and Toyotas. I generally like Toyotas better but Hondas are good too. Again, Chrysler isn't getting good reviews. Quality? Even 300c interiors have unfit plastics here and there. Powerful engine. Um no. Unless you get top-of-line 4L engine, you don't get much power. Competitor's engines are 3.5L with only 10hp/torque differences. Therefore, its not fuel efficient. Innovative trans? It's an ordinary 4 or 6speed (depending on trim). They lag behind so threw in gimmicks like stow&go(which honda had before) and reverse seating(mitsubishi had in 90s)

ACTUALLY the 6spd auto is PURLEY CHRYSLER. the ONLY 6spd in a Minivan. the 41TE is CHRYSLER. Honda only had a REAR seat that folded flat. Chrysler brought about 3rd AND 2nd row seats that fold flat.
the 3.5 WAS REDESIGNED in 1998. it made 250hp!!! in 2002 it made 255hp in the 300M. Chrysler's 3.5 with 250hp came out in 1998.

Yes 4spd and 6spd Daimler warner is used. Nope there's no such pure chrysler. I know it has 2nd row flat, a concept copied from H and extended. How about others? reverse, stow?
No. 3.5 was redesigned in 99 and 04 and it's 04 when it finally got 255hp. Nope, in 98 it was 214hp. FRom 02-04, Honda had 3.5L that made 240hp while Chry made similar 234hp. Don't compare 300m here; It's a car and engines are made to have more hp less torque. behind? they're never behind, at LEAST marginally ahead.

the 41TE and 62TE are DESIGNED and BUILT by Chrysler in Kokomo Indiana.
the 3.5 was redesigned in 98, along with the LH cars. there was a NEW 2.7 and 3.2 versions. the 2.7 made 200hp, 3.2 made 215. 3.5 made 250hp. in 2002 the 300M Special recieved a performance exhaust, the 3.5 made 255hp in this application. Chrysler has a 235hp 3.5 used in the Journey and the Sebring/Avenger.
the ONLY AsinWarner transmission used in a Chrysler was in the Jeep Cherokee.

It's built by Chry not designed. Sorry many of their tech came from Daimler.
Aren't we discussing about vans? Car engines are set to have higher hp lower torque i told you. If you go into cars, it's more negative to you, as Toyota and Honda 3.5L car engines are top notch(and received Wards 10 Best Engine awards too). I'm not going to repeat myself.
