  • 0:35 to 0:38 You see it in his eyes. The realization that this is his last performance in his life. That look of joy and sadness all in one.

  • That look that he has from 0:36-0:40 ,you can just feel the intensity and the emotion.Brings a tear to my eye every time :')

  • he was lip-syncing....

  • @TheGroceryman2 Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened. But at least we got to see him one last time. Rest in peace, Luciano. :')

  • ..... Still listening 5 years later .....

  • Simplesmente lindo, fantástico. E é por isso que amo música clássica, e, de fato, é comum chorar em um espetáculo destes.

  • Gorgeous. Wish the camera man hadn't shown me so many panoramas of the stage.

  • Brings a tear to my eye, everytime I watch this performance by this once great man. Now remembered forever as a legend. He poured out his soul on that stage with absolute pasion and conviction everytime he went up there.

He now lives forever in our memmories, Rest In Peace Luciano

  • @boertjie4728 Don't mean to be a dick, but this was sung in a studio and then he went out and lip-synched this. It's impossible to sing a song like this in temperatures like that, and he knew that, and insisted the only way he'd perform was if it was recorded in advance. Didn't want to tarnish his reputation that was rightfully built on how fantastic he was at singing that song pretty much right up until his death.

  • @dvmaprezson He was lip synching because he was dying of cancer. Admire the heart of the man that still went out on that stage for his country.

  • @dvmaprezson I read that the conductor revealed that Pavarotti was lipsynching this final performance in his book (sleazy way to sell some books). The reason he had to is because that was an open air performance and it was freezing out. Even WITH the hot lights on him, you can still see the fog of his breath. This is the first time I have actually SEEN the performance, it is so well done that it looks like he IS performing it live. Frankly, I think the conductor should have kept the secret.

  • @dvmaprezson I don't think it matters, I mean he was 70 and it is still him singing regardless.

  • @boertjie4728 Rest is the last thing Luci will ever get in my realm.. He has made a contract for that golden voice. Now he is repaying that debt in eternity. There is a price for fame, riches and respect. I delivered my end of our contract. All you need is free-will to decide your future. Speak my name with passion, I will be there.

  • PAVAROTTI TE AMAREI SEMPRE

  • What language is this? He is singing in Italian.

  • @kellycichocki This translation was done by a Brazilian TV channel (Globo TV)

  • @OUltimodosMoicanos Thank you for that info. The International Olympic Committee removed Pavarotti's video, and this was the only good clip I could fine. Thanks for posting it.

  • The translation doesn't look correct..

  • @kellycichocki He's singing in Italian, but the translation is in Portuguese on broadcast TV.

  • isso 2006, erro meu.

  • não é 2006 ?

  • Essa apresentação foi em 2007 na abertura das Olimpíadas de Inverno em Turim.

  • Bravo Bravo

  • bravo proprio bravo
