  • I have still use an XFX one never had problems

runs most of the games these days

    Waiting for 6 series :)

  • FYI, RivaTuner helps a lot with keeping the temp down of this card, fan speed seems to always stay at 40%, i bump it up to 60% or 80% whenever I use a graphics heavy program.

  • Literally just updated the drivers on this card, upgraded my drivers once before and it caused numerous crashes, rolled back, started having crashes again, just updated to new drivers and it's working much better now. Scares me a bit though when it crashes, would rather not lose money.

  • @G0ldenAssassin i bought this card almost 2 years ago and i haven't had any problems at all... i update my drivers every time they launch the new ones, and it has never crashed.

  • @88metalero the newer drivers always caused me problems for some reason, probably my motherboard, upgraded to the gtx570, amazing

  • I own a pc Asus CG5270

    with 400 watt PSU

    and a gt 220 install

my question is can I upgrade to new powerful card like GTX 260 or GTX 275 by upgrading my PSU

  • @therealsteve2437 yyes:D

  • Hmm anonymous I couldn't be happier with this card. I upgraded to it from a core 216 260 and that thing SUCKED

  • you can actually over clock the 260 to be as fast as the 280 so not really

  • A lot of people (including me) had massive problems with this thing. I was sorely disappinted, because this card was fucking expensive.

  • does the same apply for the BFG GTX 275 OC the one above OC think its OCX....?

  • that thing is huge, looks like a big VHS :O

  • @hafaball hmm its a bit expensiver then a VHS i think.

  • @gamer931215 expensiver ? new word for english dictionary ?

  • @arni291 what ? cant human make mistakes anymore ? didnt knew that, sorry.

  • @hafaball It's quite a bit larger than a VHS tape.

  • I'm having issues with my card showing "artifacts" (?) in MW2 after a couple hours of play. EVGA said to uninstall and reinstall drivers, then to check voltage. All that checked out fine. Still have the problem. I also can barely play Black Ops, but with an annoying stutter. Where can I go for help?

  • i got this but i want 480 or 560 gtx

  • @phycotic332 480 is faster than 560. or get 460in SLi faster than 480, and cost about $400

  • @arni291 or u could get a gtx580 with 400$

  • Comment removed

  • Shut up n00b! There are no horse powers in that card. 1 hp = 745.699872 watts - which I don't think the card _DELIVERS_!

  • @e13373 It's a metaphor you silly person. :P

  • is it safe to touch the fiber glass side of the video card with your hands, im askign cayse i bought a gtx 260 and my mom touched it with out anti static

  • @callofdutyguy9 Fiber glass? There is no fiber glass on the card AFAIK.

Anyways, tell your mom she ruined it and get her to buy another one, then you can have two of them in SLi :P

  • there is.those red areas are of fibre glass.

  • have it :) but now im gonna get a GTX 470. the card was a beast

  • Will this fit my Dell inpiron 530?

  • @TheHango I doubt it.

  • get a gtx 460 1GB instead, your money will go further.

  • i miss logan....

  • will this card fit in my g41m-gs?

  • @gokuubssj4 yes why not ?! :S

  • lol the way he said retailers was funny 4:52

  • Hello. But if the GTX 275 has 633MHz and an ATI 4870 has 750 MHz So what's the best? All I dike that the GTX 275 is better? Why? Explain ..

  • @Crysis2ful nvidia and ati have different architecture its hard to tell by specs the way to check is benchmarks. the gtx 275 is the better but if your thinking about buying this don't instead get a dx11 card the gtx 460 is a good card.

  • really nice card, a bit old nowadays but... oh well thats technology :/ gets old too fast

mine is from ECS, with a little overclock and two BIG coolers attached

  • bit bus

  • I upgraded from Two GTX 275's in Sli to ONE GTX 480. The 480 was 10% faster and even more in almost all my games.

  • Yeah but were they ftw ed

  • im definately going for one like this. does anybody know if the PNY version is any good. im not looking for absoloutely crazy graphics just enough to play gta 4 level games on high setings with amaizing frames aswell as games with physX. need to upgrade my power supply though cause at the moment im using a 240 v i think. i got a back up coputer with a 650 psu which should be fine for this type of thing

  • New egg sells a bfg version.

  • I have 2 words... DirectX 11

  • @ihateevilbill

    11 is not a word

  • @320994 What school did you go to?

  • @ihateevilbill

    why ?

you saying 11 is a word? not a number?

  • @320994 Thats a little 2 dimensional of you to think that way.... eleven (11) is a number as much as it is a word. Its kinda like saying a book isnt a thing as its a word. And a verb isnt a type of word its something you do. I think the word im looking for is semantics actually.... Having said that seeing as you are from the netherlands and youre speaking and trying to understands the language that I have spoken all my days ill let you off.

  • Eleven can be either or.

  • I have a question........A single gtx 275 requires 600W PSU....if we run two of em in sli do we require 1200W of PSU?????????Plzz let me know....

  • @secio007 graphics card uses about 200 watts at max load the rest of your system uses about 200-300 when running under stress. so an 800w would be enought for 2 cards

  • @secio007 no 600 w it's the minimum requriement, along with the others components of your pc... look at the nvidia page ,for how much power does require this card in sli. but i think a 700-750 watts psu would be enough!

  • @secio007 Quality 700W PSU is enough for two GTX 275s.

  • i tink that its enouth for 3 of them

  • Nah more like 800 if you want to over clock 700 is cutting it close.

  • I LOVE MY GTX 275! It kicks soooo much ass. It gives literally GTX 285 performance for $220 bucks! You can SLI the GTX 275 for a little over the price of a single GTX 285 and get world class performance that trounces the GTX 295 with ease. Not to mention the over clocking performance this card puts out!

  • ok my mum/mom is byin me ths can i run most games on high settings? i hve no idea

    Processor/cpu - Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz 8MB 1066FSB LGA1156

    Main Board - gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R-SLI ATX LGA1366 17-CF & SLI support

    Memory/Ram - kingston HyperX 6GB Kit 2000MHz DDR3 3x2Gb Sticks

    HardDrive - 1TB SATA2 Western Digital 7200RPM 32MB-Greenpower

    Video Card - Gigabyte Nvidia GTX275 896MB GDDR3 PCIE

Power Supply - Vantec ION2 Plus 700W Modular PSU

Operating System - Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit OEM

  • @SNOWBOARDER1SAM You could run nearly anything with that maxed out on a 22 inch

  • would a linkworld 600watts psu keep this cool with a q9550 and 8gb of ram?

  • @PcMrGaming YES!

Hope your happy with your purchase!

  • @Suburbankidd why?

  • @PcMrGaming Why what?

This is a low power card and the Q9550 only takes about 130 watts load lol.

  • im so happy with this card :)

  • great review with plenty of info, i clocked my 275 based on these figures, thanks

  • my 2x gtx 280's run the same clocks as this hehe

  • not direct x 11?

  • im sorry for asking this but which 275 is faster gtx 275 ftw or the gtx 275 co-op edition?

  • the FTW version is faster than both. I think the co-op version is just a regulary 275 with a 9800 GTX for physx.

  • @an8kyoe I would definitely assume the co-op. The co-op has a second GPU dedicated to PhysX. Plus the fact its $80 more than a regular GTX 275. I wouldn't bother with the Co-Op though, just go regular GTX 275 and overclock it.

  • hey its a 650watts psu enough to keep this card nicely??

  • Question: can it on Modern Warfare 2 on max settings (1680*1050 resolution) 100fps?

  • YES !

  • rfeally? in all situations?

do u have that graphics card

  • Yaa .

My friend had it but i don't .

  • alright, can i get the graphics card from u?

  • @SpicyHam most likely... dont see why you want "100" fps though. 40 or 45 is more than enough most likely.

  • uh huh, TROLL! 40 is never enough

  • @SpicyHam "40" is never enough? i used to play games at 20 fps, and i wasn't half bad. 40 is more than enough, unless your really picky. 40 frames is average and playable.

  • i think u have mental problems. 40 is NOT enough

    it's not picky.

i m saying this to save ur eyes

  • @SpicyHam the main market, as in the $100 dollar market, would satisfy for 30. it's not hard to play with 30 or 40 fps. Not everyone has money to blow all over the place. Yes, you can tell there is a difference between 60 and 40, but that doesn't mean people swear and break their video cards. A human eye can't even see past around 60 - 70 frames, and you asked for 100 fps on modern warfare 2. Only reason someone would see lag if game drops from 300 -> 60 is cause it rips.

  • meh. 60fps constant is minimum for First person shooters

  • I agree.

  • 30FPS is same exxperience as 500FPS, you just get happier by seeing 40FPS than 30 cause you'd think it's better.

  • @NoneImparticular What is your basis that 30 fps is same experience as 500 fps?

  • yo dudes im new in pc things and i wanna know things that you guys probably already know. first of all i wanna buy a new pc for Starcraft 2 my current pc barely runs warcraft 3 and as i wanna build a new one i have some questions what do you guys think is better some nice motherboard or a nice cpu intel? i realized that actually there is no program that could be realy used in core 2 quad so i think is better buy a good m/board. and also wich thing is betta a high video card? or a lot of ram?

  • how much ca we get now

  • @freaktube4 - @1ben1245 - Like I said 3x 5870's in CrossfireX scored 27790 in 3dMark Vantage. My 3 GTX 275's OCE scored 28891.....any questions?

  • Since this card uses the memory of the 260, would it be possible and stable to run a zotac gtx 260 amp at 2520mhz?

  • is there a big difference between ssc version and the normal version?

  • SSC Is higher OC'ed

  • the gtx285 fits in my friends mid case

  • Hey, i wanted to buy a new graphics card for my computer. I hope the new one can be the GeForce GTX 275, but I am not sure if my computer has the proper requirements. My operating system is Microsoft Windows XP proffessional. The System model is a Dell XPS720. The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2. 66 GHZ.

  • @thenotoriousadin - If you want to put the GTX 275 in your computer then make sure you have 10.5 inches of space. The GTX 275 is 10.5 inches and requires 2x 6 pin PCI-Express 12 volt cables. You might have to upgrade your PSU to a 600 WATT for the card to function properly.

  • will this work in a blue hippo computer?

  • i got this one in my pc;)

  • is a gtx 295 worth £350?

    or jus a 5870 for £340?

  • @freaktube4 Gtx 295 will be excellent

  • but my board isnt sli its crossfire and it supports only 2 cards so i am thinking of geting a 5870 its faster and supports dx 11 lol

  • @freaktube4 the 5870 is faster then the 295 but when the 300 series comes out, it will be way better than the 5870.

  • you cant be soo sure bcz first of all gtx 360 wont be no where near as fast as a 5870 in theory and a 5970 will beat or have identical results with a gtx 395 and a 5870 will either be identical or faster than a gtx 380

  • @freaktube4 - LMFAO 3 5870's in CrossfireX can't even beat my GTX 275's in Tri-SLI and you think they are going to dust the 300 series you're comical at best. I love the ATI spirit just to bad I have the benchmarks to prove else wise.

  • are you sure since a single 5870 is 5-20% slower than a gtx 295 and faster than a 285 in most games its impossible for your 3 gtx 275 to beat the 3 5870 and i m only 13

  • @freaktube4 - Well let me educate you on NVIDIA cards. The GTX 275 is the GTX 285, but it uses the memory of the GTX 260. Now the GTX 295 is 2x GTX 275 sandwiched together. Now, 3x ATI 5870 in crossfireX scored 27790 in 3dMark Vantage. My 3 GTX 275 in Tri-SLI scored 28891 in 3dMark Vantage. So, who said the ATI card is 5-20% faster? Oh wait that must have been ATI that said that LMFAO don't believe what ATI says noob just buy the shit and test it yourself.

  • @freaktube4 - I've beat ATI 5870 in both Vantage and Unigine benchmarks. I think that proves which card is faster. Now you want to bring FPS up into the picture. ATI cards run some games better then NVIDIA and NVIDIA cards run some games better then ATI that will always be the case. However, when you want to talk faster and more powerful that is where benchmarking comes into play. So to say that the ATI 5870 is 5-20% faster without proof is stupid.

  • @freaktube4 - Mostly what you go on is some rigged up benchmarks by ATI that seem to be floating around the web. Take a close look at those benchmarks noob and count the number of cards ATI was using verses the number of cards it was put up against. ATI has never in it's entire history done a fair benchmark test against NVIDIA. ATI always has used 2 or 3 cards in CrossfireX to benchmark against 1 poor and helpless NVIDIA card. I've done what ATI wouldn't 3 cards verses 3 cards and guess what?

  • @freaktube4 - ATI 5870 lost the fight, so don't be hating on me just because I leveled the playing field. If ATI did card for card benchmarking all you noobs would see the truth. I guess you go on the clock speed of the ATI card verses the clock speed of the NVIDIA card to get your 5-20% faster theory. That's like saying an AMD 965BE @ 3.4GHz is 5-20% faster then an Intel Core i7 920@ 2.66Ghz when in reality the Core i7 920@ 2.66Ghz mops the floor with that 965BE @ 3.4Ghz.

  • @predatorxocw why are you talking about that jus bcz you got owned by a young teenager when your in your late 30s and you know for yourself that they dont beat 3 5870s

  • @freaktube4 - Until you can post some benchmarks noobie stfu

  • @freaktube4 - Tell you something else I didn't get owned by anyone. You got a lot of mouth yet you fail to post up any valid benchmarks from Vantage or Unigine.....hmmmm I wonder why?

  • @freaktube4 - Your a little scared noobcake that has nothing to offer. I've ask you well over 5 times to prove me wrong. If you think your system is so bad ass then I'd be posting benchmarks up of it, yet you turn and run away every time a request is made to see some validated benchmarks. You have nothing for me hell my processor and motherboard cost the same amount as your whole entire rig and yes that includes your 17" LCD with it's ultra high res of 1280x1024.

  • @predatorxocw here they are then:

these show that 5870 beats the gtx 285

    guruht(.)com/2009/09/ati-hd-5870-vs-gtx-285-benchmarks

  • @freaktube4 - That link doesn't go to any place. If you want to see the GTX series killing those 5870's just visit the home forums over at AMD. There you will see multiple NVIDIA GTX cards stomping those 5870's right into the ground. Not only that, but your even see ATI's own 4870 x2 bust that 5870's ass. Now that's just a shame, so you got a card that runs DX11 the sad part is that's all it can do it can't beat the NVIDIA 200 series nor even ATI's own 4870 x2! Now post some scores of ur own up!

  • @predatorxocw mm lets see.. a 4870x2 IS A DUAL GPU WHILE THE 5870 is just 1!! :P

  • @kidowner - No kidding Sherlock I thought the x2 stood for the XMEN.

  • @1ben1245 - Sorry, but you're wrong. There is a video on youtube that shows 3 ATI 5870's in CrossfireX and they scored 27790 in 3dMark Vantage. My 3 GTX 275 OCE cards scored 28891 in 3dMark Vantage, so I would check your info. Just because you have an ATI 5870 doesn't make it faster and if you think it does bring on those benchmarks. Also make sure that when your looking at the benchmark test ATI had done that it isn't 3 5870's in CrossfireX against one NVIDIA card.

  • @predatorxocw nahhh i'm right. it depends on what cpu, ram, etc u got. But the 5870 is the fastest card out right now. i'm not a fanboy of ati, i'm an nvidia fan but its true, its the fastest card on the market now. But i bet your wrong or have a really good cpu, and ram.

  • @1ben1245 - Well benchmarks don't lie and 28891 is higher then 27790 which makes the GTX 275 faster in my book and also in 3dMark Vantage book. I've also smoked the 5870 in unigine benchmarking. I can understand some people just read the shit over the net and assume they are correct. Me I buy the shit and test it the way it was designed to run. Anytime I see 3 ATI cards put up against 1 NVIDIA card I know what they're doing.

  • @predatorxocw rofl? look benchmarks clearly.. the 5870 totally kills the 275 and the 285.. its only problem is the 295

  • @kidowner - I don't know what benchmarks you're looking at, but you must be dreaming. You sound like a chap that has an ATI 5870 post some valid benchmarks and let's see it kill my GTX 275's how about that. Even on AMD's own forums the 5870 gets slaughtered by NVIDIA in Unigine. I score almost 4000 myself in Unigine what's your score 900 what? I also have a validated Vantage GPU score of 28891 compared the 3x ATI 5870's in CrossfireX scoring 27790. So better check your sources more carefully.

  • @predatorxocw i dont have a 5870 -.- i just saw benchmarks that a 275 vs 5870 and 285 vs a 5870. the 5870 beat them..

  • @kidowner - Oh you mean 3 5870's verses a 275 and a 285 well I can see that 3 times the power. Just to bad it didn't beat my 3 GTX 275's.

  • @predatorxocw dude im saying 1 5870 vs 1 275 or 285. stop posting bullcrap. if you are saying the truth than give me a link to the benchmarks that says otherwise

  • @kidowner - Like I said Validated Benchmark score on GTX 275's GPU 28891 3dMark Vantage. Validated Score Unigine 3989 1680 x 1050 8xAA max settings nuff said. Get some 5870's to beat those scores and then we will talk. I still have a whole lot of overclocking left on these GTX's so humor me. I haven't even volt modded yet imagine the possibilities.

  • @predatorxocw ok.. maybe in vantage yes. but what about games? real performance is when ur gaming not doing some benchmarks.

  • @kidowner - LMFAO real performance is in benchmarks your computer isn't even under that much load when gaming. Real performance is in Unigine which is an advanced gaming engine. Gaming doesn't prove shit since games are written to support one engine or the next. Some games support ATI and others support NVIDIA. Games written with PhysX would perform better on NVIDIA cards since NVIDIA owns AGEIA and ATI can't render PhysX. So gaming doesn't prove shit.

  • @predatorxocw just wondering... "benchmarks" is real world performance. No existing game uses the unigine benchmark. if you have dual 5870s or something, then maybe you won't get that much load when your playing at like 16 x 10 res or something like that. To most people, benchmarks during gaming is what people want, due to the fact that that's REAL world performance, and that is what GPUs for the consumer are for.

  • @kidowner - Benchmarks prove performance and they also gauge it. A gaming engine scripted to work with a certain GPU doesn't prove jack. Let me see an ATI card render PhysX. They can't nor will they ever be able to render PhysX and more games are starting to incorporate that technology in which means NVIDIA will score higher FPS over ATI since ATI can't run a PhysX card nor can it render the technology. So playing a video game doesn't prove shit when checking performance.

  • @kidowner - It's called BROKE and that is what ATI/AMD is BROKE on the verge of bankrupt and you can thank your AMD company for that one bud.

  • @kidowner - In fact I Salute Intel for @ucking AMD up so bad. They deserved it and they got what they ask for. 4800+ was the tide AMD rode in on and Intel ripped that wave right out from underneath there sorry asses.

  • @1ben1245 - Just like when ATI benchmarked those 5870's. Why would they put 3 5870's up against one NVIDIA card? That didn't make any sense, but then I saw why they scored 27790 in Vantage and my 3 GTX 275 scored 28891 ATI would never want those results published like that so instead they use 1 NVIDIA card and 3 ATI cards in CrossfireX to make it appear like they are better and hope nobody catches the amount of cards used per test.

  • @1ben1245 - I've busted those 5870's in both Vantage and unigine what else is there to say. If you're buying the ATI card just because it's DX11 that's a stupid move. When the 300 series hits the shelves there are going to be a whole lot of people saying, "Shit I should have waited" like they say all good things come to those who wait, but in the meantime I'll keep busting those ATI cards in benchmarks with my 200 series cards.

  • @predatorxocw ehh true lol.

  • @killer

Bro you should get another psu a 600w or greater and the gtx 275 should fit just fine you probably want to move you hard drives a bit but if the case is long enough there will be no problem

  • will it fit in mid case

  • yes it does mine fits just fine

  • @112510488 but also my case fits a atx motherborad would it still fit and i have 500 psu byt i dont have alot connect to it can i still use it with 500 and its only a cd drive and hdd drive that are using power

  • @killer9000000000 - As long as you have 10.5 inches of room at your PCI-E slot then yes the GTX 275 will fit into your case. A 500 WATT PSU might have trouble handling this card. You may want to look at an upgraded PSU perhaps a 600 WATT to turn it's true performance out.

  • i got the 1700 MB :D

  • gt300 DONT´T SUPPORT DX 11

  • The clock speeds are very low, lower than in a 9600 gt that i had before. But you can overclock this card very good?

  • they had to lower the clocks in comparison to the 9600 gt becoz it has 240 cores, more cores = more heat, the 9600 gt has only 64

  • So... More cores = more perfomance? Is it?

  • @CheatEnginer not neccessarily. Both ATI and Nvidia have very different unified shader architectures. ATI's 4890 has like a thousand Stream Processors and yet it is slower than the GTX 275 with 240 Cores. It depends on the architecture of the Core, the speed or mhz at which the Cores are running and a bunch of other variables. If you arent going to mix the 2 companies then yes, More cores means faster FPS.

  • Well i trust nvidia more than ati. Other people also say lots of stuff like "ati is shit" u kno. Especially the drivers are told to be bad. I was about to buy 4890 but then i saw gtx 275 and i thought like, ive had nvidia before but no ati. So i decided to take gtx 275. I think it was a good choice.

  • he said the 285 has ddr5

  • maybe he just said it for an example?

  • @kamocheerios hahah nvidia wishes lol

  • so if gta 4 doesnt work on my pc because of the graphics card, can I just buy this and it will work

  • @sambojimmybob LOL u have to know if ur computer has pcie slots, has enought power on the power supply and also depeds on how good ur cpu is

  • @madzane94 what is the meaning of ftl!

  • This card is awesome! I can now play cod4 / mw2 at max. Crysis runs great to 40-45 fps now :)

  • what rez?

  • dx10 or 11?

  • @SamBrears

    10

  • dx10, the first dx11 Nvidia Cards are coming within the next few months.

  • I heard Nvidia will launch in December.

  • As far as I can see, probably not anymore.

That's what wikipedia says at least.

  • 2:04

  • Will this be enough to play Ping-pong?

    Full-HD, please.

  • My onboard graphics are SO COOL! THEY CAN DO PING-PONG!!!!

  • I like seeing the pixels :)

  • Might pull out 25fps :/

  • one tip never buy crappy powers. i buy a ATX 650w powersupply for 70 euro's (im dutch) and i have this card and a amd phenom X4 810 but my computer repeatly fals out so i bougt a zalman 750w (zalman zm750-HP) and now its working... i see your specs are good xmadxlamerx but what brand is your power (and im sorry for my bad english :D :P )

  • he said DDR5 =/

  • would this psu, 650W, be enough with this system?

    amd phenom 9950 x4 2.9*4ghz

    msi k9a2-cf

    500gb sata hdd

    2*2gb ddr2

    ori need better psu?

  • it is enough even if it is a cheap psu

  • That should be great, it needs at least a 550, so 650 should be sufficient :)
